Tabula rasa means ‘blank slate’, and is both a kick-ass season six episode of ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ and the overarching theme of Marta Acosta’s fourth and final ‘Casa Dracula’ novel. . .
I have a kind of alacrity in sinking - William Shakespeare
In this novel Milagro is dealing with the fallout of ‘happily ever after’. Following the heartbreakingly complicated events of ‘Bride of Casa Dracula’, Milagro de Los Santos made her bed and chose her man. Now she is discovering what happens after you ride off into the sunset with your prince charming. . .
In ‘Haunted Honeymoon’ Milagro discovers that the man she chose can promise her lust, but not love; adoration but not fidelity. She feels seller’s remorse for the man she gave up, and to nurse her broken heart (and make some mula off a fauxoir freak) she jet-sets to London and shacks up with a politically-minded surfer with a lush name.
When Milagro returns her problems are just as she left them – caught between the man she chose and the man she wants, and the vampire society who revere and vilify her. . . matters get even more complicated when the English surfer follows her home and gets himself killed. Suddenly Milagro is hunted by military contractors, and pissed off with Cockroaches and Pickles until her memory finally snaps and amnesia gives her a case of tabula rasa.
Women are made to be loved, not understood. - Oscar Wilde
Marta Acosta’s ‘Casa Dracula’ series is not paranormal romance. Rather it is a comedy-of-manners; revelling in absurd non sequiturs, stinging social observations and hilarious juxtapositions. Any paranormal and romantic elements are fringe benefits. . . and I sort of love the way that in ‘Haunted Honeymoon’ Marta Acosta tramples a lot of paranormal romance conventions. She writes messy love, fucked-up characters, awkward situations and scathing diatribes. And I loved every word. . .
Ah! how annoying that the law doesn't allow a woman to change husbands just as one does shirts. - Moliere
If you were ever under the impression that the ‘Casa Dracula’ series is paranormal romance, then Milagro’s bed-hopping should quickly dispel such misconceptions. It is very un-feminist and puritanical that in a lot of paranormal/urban-fantasy books the female characters are quite chaste. Screw that! Marta Acosta writes messy love – her heroine enjoys sex and flirting and she falls into bed for fun and forgetting. I loved reading about Milagro’s oozing sexuality – both the references to her chichis and male character’s reactions to her bazoombas. Sure, it’s funny, but on a more emotional level I enjoyed reading Milagro’s sexual armour. Acosta gets very Freudian in ‘Haunted Honeymoon’ and explores Milagro’s childhood as it impacts her current adult relationships, and it is fascinating. We all have 20/20 vision in hindsight, and I felt as though Acosta delving into Milagro’s past made the previous three books more profound and enriching.
A gentleman is one who never hurts anyone's feelings unintentionally. - Oscar Wilde
The ‘Casa Dracula’ series is a comedy-of-manners, but some of the most powerful scenes in ‘Haunted Honeymoon’ came when manners were disposed of and characters didn’t pull punches;
Ian stared at me with his languid, hooded eyes and said, “You’re very conflicted about who you are, what we are, as you’ve always been. But what is amusing in a girl becomes tiresome in a woman. Grow up.” “So says a man who spends every waking hour in pursuit of pleasure.” “Remind me again, Milagro, what it is that you do to contribute to society, besides your decorative value, which is considerable.”
‘Haunted Honeymoon’ is very much centred on Milagro – deconstructing her personality, her past and her predicaments. She is an infuriating character sometimes – both hyper-aware and utterly ignorant of herself. In other words, Milagro is just like everyone else in the world. But I loved that in ‘Haunted Honeymoon’ a lot of dirty laundry was aired, and characters spoke their minds and had their say – often voicing criticisms and witticisms that had been on the tips of their tongue for three books. The amnesia plot is essentially a stripping down of Milagro’s defences; a way for her to take a cold, hard look at her life decisions and gain perspective. It may be a cliché soap-opera storyline, but with Ms. Acosta’s writing juju the amnesia plot becomes a deeply profound and funny character exposè, more in keeping with an Oscar Wilde comedy-of-errors than the Goldie Hawn movie 'Overboard'.
There is no praise to bear the sort that you put in your pocket. - Moliere
‘Haunted Honeymoon’ does pack quite a punch. I cried, I laughed, I yelled at certain characters when they didn’t chase after the girl or made inappropriate marriage proposals. But overall I got a sense of hope from this final ‘Casa Dracula’ novel;
“I don’t believe in magic.” “You are magic.” He put his fine-boned hand on my wrist. “You are Milagro de Los Santos, the Miracle of the Saints. You must trust in yourself, in the role that destiny has written for you. Even though others would put you in a cage, the one who watches you recognizes your true self and loves you still.” I was surprised at the shiver that went through me. “I know you’re full of it, but damn if I don’t want to believe you.” “Then do,” he said, and winked one of his big bug eyes.
This is the grand finale for Milagro de Los Santos – and her send-off is absurdly wonderful and befitting the unique ‘Casa Dracula’ series. Milagro’s love life is sorted out, once and for all. She accepts hard truths and her own limitations, and the book finishes on a beautiful note of Scarlett-esque proportions; ‘tomorrow is another day’. I would be over-the-moon thrilled if Marta Acosta wrote more books in the ‘Casa Dracula’ series. But if ‘Haunted Honeymoon’ really is the last then it’s a beautiful send-off for one fabulous señorita.
After unexpectedly finding a vampire series that has meant so much for me - it was a bittersweet moment to read the final book of the Casa Dracula series. Very rarely does one encounter a vampire story, that is not cheesy, but witty, engrossing and sexy.
I actually started the series by reading Book #3 - Bride of Casa Dracula - which I don't regret (even though I'm so anti-getting out of the order) because it definitely got me on Team Ian from the get-go. I will never know if I would have had such a strong attachment to the Ian team if I had started reading book from the start - but alas, it no longer matters.
I love that this book gave more insight to how a life of Milagro and Ian can be and how exciting to share those feelings of passion. I could see that there were going to be challenges, but I loved how we very very slowly starting to see more softer sides of Ian. I think you could always catch brief glimpses, especially in book 3 - and I totally sided with Milagro, as we also want to hear Ian say the big L word, at the same time knowing that he actually might not do it - as his L refers more to Lust. I really enjoyed that Milagro had a limit and responded to it to get a reaction out of Ian.
I do have to say that I was getting nervous about her revisiting her feelings for Oswald. But I can relate when one is out of the relationship, you sometimes forget why you're out of the relationship in the first place. Again, I wasn't sure about the amnesia - I didn't know if I would enjoy that plot, but I totally did.
I think the one thing that I did not like or believe as much is the character of Oswald in the pool scene. I don't know if I necessarily believed that he would start making out with Lily, when he was so into getting married with Milagro - I think it was too easy for him to find another girl just about the time Milagro comes back to his life. I also didn't appreciate his comments about him just wanting to be with Milagro because it was the right thing to do - as I totally think he loved her. Part of me liked the storyline of them not working out because they just weren't meant for each other. Also, why would Milagro invite Oswald to her wedding with Ian????? And why would Oswald go???
Anyway, can I just say MAJOR SPOILER - I loved that she ended up with Ian. I was always curious about that and really loved the book because of that direction it took. Now can we please have someone do 4 movies of each of the Casa Dracula book! :)

I LOVE this series! There I said it and I will say it as many times as I need to. Marta Acosta does the impossible and brings something new to the Vampire table with the Casa Dracula series and the result is a hilarious, fun and amazing series that I am sad is over.
Milagros is an aspiring writer who has been burned by her pretentions ex-boyfriend. One night during a literary event for his new book, she meets Oswald and is instantly captivated. They share a kiss and an overzealous bite on her lip changes her whole world. She gets sick and is taken to his family’s ranch to be taken cared of. That is where she finds out that Oswald and his family are Vampires, even though the churn the term and prefer to treat their condition as an allergy to the sun and iron deficiency that makes them drink animal blood cocktails.
Milagros is a spit-fire Latina and I love her for it. She is so different from the regular UF heroine that you can’t help but fall prey to her wits and crazy ways. She takes to Oswald’s family and embraces their “Vampire” culture wholeheartedly, not to mention that she completely embraces Oswald himself!
The Casa Dracula series is not a Paranormal Romance, it doesn’t follow the HEA of one couple through a book, it is a Comedic Urban Fantasy series that definitely has Romance elements and even thought Milagros does get her HEA, the ending might surprise you.
I’m sad this series is over and I’ll miss all the characters, from Oswald’s grandmother and her sharp tongue to the worldly Ian and his sex-appeal. I hope Marta gets a chance to write a new series with Milagros and her man’s adventures! I would totally read that!
If you are an Urban Fantasy fan and feels like you need some new blood *snicker* in the genre, you should definitely read this series, I can’t recommend it enough! =D
Not as funny as the previous in the series, but very satisfying. Milagro is a source of comfort, really--with her pluck, her expressiveness, and her knack for relationships. I probably missed Edna as much as she did!
This is the end and I am sad, but at the same time I am very happy because it was truly the end I wanted.
Milagros is now with Ian but things are still not great. She can't seem to find her place, and she still thinks about Oswald. Oh yes Oswald, the hot but for me boring wasp vampire. So not for our curvy and lively Milagros. But they will meet again as she gets amnesia and there is a chance to start all over again. What happens? Oh I am not telling you that, but she will get one of these men.
This book is about a fun trip to London, a crazy scientist, trouble with Ian, murder charges and a happy ever after.
But let's get back to the men since they are so interesting. Ian, oh that goddamn Ian Ducharme. I said last time that he is like chocolate and that is so true. You look at it on the shelf and crave it, then you get it and eat too much. But if you try to stay away you just long for it again. So what does this tell you? Well you just have to learn that chocolate is awesome, just do not eat too much, and do not try to stay away from it. And that is Ian, lol, Milagros just have to come to terms with her Ian-addiction. Because in the end a bit of chocolate is actually good for you. But will Milagros stay with her chocolate or go back to healthier food that taste funny? Find out! The book throws a few surpries and I liked it.
What we have is a fun book and even though I am sad that it is the end it was fun while it lasted. It is a series that I totally would recommend to others.
About the Book: Never has Milagro been in this much trouble. After an argument with her man, she stormed off to let some steam off and figure where things go from there. But a series of impossible events has landed her here. In some weird lab, with a crazy evil scientist who dreams a dream of an undead army…
My Opinion: At first I thought this was going to be one of those boring old stories about getting kidnapped, evil scientists, clones, zombies, memory loss and eventual re-falling in love with douchebag ex. But this was not that, far from it. I made a right call comparing Milagro with Sookie: an underestimated woman who thinks on her feet.
THERE'S MORE THAN HER HEART AT STAKE. . . .As the only human to survive vampire infection, Milagro de Los Santos has become quite a celebrity among the blood-drinking elite. Too bad the perks of her condition--increased strength, super-fast healing--don't pay her condo fees. There are other complications too. She's feeling guilty about her fling with enigmatic Vampire Council member Ian Ducharme, and pining for her ex-fiance, Dr. Oswald Grant . . . the fabulous man whose kiss changed her life. It's when Milagro--irked by Ian's attentions to his neighbor--travels to London and enjoys a sexy flirtation of her own, that the blood really hits the fan. Suddenly, those around her are dying gruesome deaths and Milagro's being interrogated. Who would kill to set her up as a murder suspect? Milagro just wants to turn back the clock and have another chance to make things right, but no sooner has she escaped to Oswald's ranch than an accident obliterates her memory. Will the murderer come after her now? And will amnesia spark a romantic do-over with Oswald--or will she make all the same mistakes before she ever gets to say "I do"?
My thoughts...
Milagro questions her relationship with the powerful Vampire Council member Ian Ducharme. Ian aggressively pursued her and although she had been engaged to another vampire named Oswald, she was unable to resist Ian's allure and broke their engagement. But Ian has a darker side and Milagro wonders what her life would have been like it if she had stayed and married her steady and handsome ex-fiance (Oswald)instead.Deciding to take a break from Ian and thoughts of what could have been with both loves she's off to see a vampire surfer where she has a fling and some hot and heavy sex.Deciding to hook up at a later date once she is back home the sexy surfer shows but ends up dead.Milagro ends up being the likely suspect but she has a accident and now has amnesia and can't remember anything . Torn and lonely she returns home to be comforted by Oswald and surrounding family.Thinking she may have a do -over with Oswald they strike up there relation again but, Oswald is not being honest in his feelings for her.It was one hell of a ride that Milagro took us on to solve a murder and trying to find out what her true feeling for the two men in her life one that she loves and the other super sexy vampire Ian she can't forget or remember at the same time. I thought this book was a fun and sexy read full of life and vibrant character's and some very wild and hot sexy vampires that brought some hot sex to the pages of this book that only a girl in love with a sexy vampire could appreciate made me laugh quite often.Quite and enjoyable read and look forward to the others in this series.First time read of this author for me and I have already ordered the rest to read in the series and I am looking forward to it. Can't wait!
Haunted Honeymoon is the final installment in Marta Acosta’s Casa Dracula Series & it is one series I am sad to see end. Marta Acosta ends this series wonderfully & in a way you would never have suspected.
Milagro is set up for murder & has no idea who would set her up. Then as she is escaping to Oswald’s ranch an accident happens that makes her loose her memory & it’s tough going. From the beginning, we’ve been following Milargo de Los Santos, the girl who could hardly pay her rent to a woman transformered by a kiss. Milargo has been through a lot in the previous three novels & has finally began to really grow up and know what she wants in her life. But what man does she want in her life? Oswald her first love, or Ian who is dangerous in more ways then one.
There was a part in the book that was my absolute favorite line in a book ever:
“Ah, but we all choose the partner who gives us what we need, not what we think we need, or want to need”
There was also a quote about big-headed pixies that I may need to talk to Mrs. Acosta about. Ahem.
We get to say a final goodbye to all our favorite characters & even get to meet a few that we haven’t met before. Haunted Honeymoon is action packed & full of the humor we have come to love in the series.
The Casa Dracula series was one of the first series I read where the heroine wasn’t a cookie cutter clone & I instantly fell in love with Marta Acosta’s writing style, it’s witty, quirky & full of laughs. In short, it’s my kind of book series, a lighter side of all the darkness. I may or may not have shed one or two tears while reading the final chapter, weirdly enough I feel like I’m loosing a good friend.
As a fan of the series, I couldn’t have asked for a better ending to the story. I was pleasantly surprised with the way Mrs. Acosta ended the series & stayed true the whole way through. I am sad to see the series go, but Haunted Honeymoon went out with a bang!
A fabulous end to a terrific series! Ms. Acosta has written a very satisfying conclusion to her popular Casa Dracula series. At the end of book 3 (The Bride of Casa Dracula), Milagro ends her engagement to Oswald and finally explores a relationship with the Dark Lord, Ian. Unfortunately for Milagro, her attraction to Ian has always scared her a little, so she never seems to be able to fully commit to him. Ian, being all Dark Lordish, does nothing to ease Milagro's fears. Mostly because she never tells him about them, so, even though he's the Dark Lord, he's not a mind reader. To be perfectly fair to Milagro, Ian doesn't go out of his way to reassure her and confirm her place in his life, either. So when Ian starts flirting with the neighbours, Milagro sees red. Or rather, green. She breaks it off with Ian and takes off for the UK, where she indulges in a flirtation of her own. Her hunky flirtation follows her back to the US, where he promptly becomes a murder victim. Milagro freaks out, goes all sixes and sevens, bangs herself on the noggin, and wakes up with amnesia. Her last memory is from right before she meets Oswald for the first time. Yes, that's right, all the way back to the beginning of book 1 (Happy Hour at Casa Dracula).
I really enjoyed reading this story. Ms. Acosta brilliantly uses Milagro's amnesia to resolve issues in Milagro's life. In the end we are left with a much wiser and happier Milagro, one who can at last commit freely and fully in a romantic relationship. Brava, Marta! You've done yourself proud. And while i know that Haunted Honeymoon at Casa Dracula marks the end of the Casa Dracula series, I hope that we will run into Milagro in the future, perhaps in a short story?
When Haunted Honeymoon begins Milagro is still torn between her feelings for her vampire boyfriends Ian Ducharme and Dr. Oswald Grant, her ex. Now there’s an added character in the mix, she’s found a vibrant lover who is fun to be around, Wilcox. She loves his name. It’s a wonderful name. Also Don Pedro is back, and due to a large advance he’s paying her, she’s ghost writing another book for him.
Then, tragedy strikes, there’s a murder of one of the above, and she gets a case of amnesia because of it. She’s in denial of being a vampire or even of acknowledging the existence of vampires. Milagro has to discover who the murderer is, convince the Vampires Council she didn’t’ do it, keep safe from the killer in case they come after her, recover from her amnesia, chose between Ian and Oswald, and write that book for Don Pedro.
This is the forth and I believe final book in Marta Acosta’s award winning Casa Dracula series. The others, in order, are Happy Hour at Casa Dracula, Midnight Brunch, and The Bride of Casa Dracula. She attended Stanford University, receiving degrees in English and American Literature and Creative Writing. She is also the author of an award winning young adult book, Dark Companion. In addition she wrote a comedy book, Nancy’s Theory of Style, under the name of Grace Cooper Smith.
I love Marta Acosta’s multicultural/romantic/comedy/vampire series. It is one of my favorite and one of the best vampire series out there. The main character is so believable, easy for any woman to relate to. Every woman on some level is or has a friend like Milagro. Like all the other books in the series, Haunted Honeymoon did not disappoint. I highly recommend this fun read. In fact, I recommend the entire series.
4.5 stars With the final book in a series, I find it hard to write a review, because I'm so afraid of ruining even the tiniest bit of the plot. That is definitely the case here. The story-line of Haunted Honeymoon is nothing short of fantastic. The plot Acosta delivers is frustratingly great, and surprises you at every turn. It kept changing face, and had this reader rushing through the pages for answers. Don't read the back cover, or a synopsis anywhere. It'll be more exciting not knowing what to expect next.
I can tell you that Acosta weaves a tale of second chances with the possibility of redemption, in pure Milagro fashion. That means it'll be funny and outrageous and all together entertaining. The idea of second chances is nothing new but the way in which Acosta creates such an opportunity is crafty and oh so delicious. Over the series, Milagro has been torn between Oswald and Ian but hasn't really had the opportunity and space to define her true emotions on either. There have always been so many outside interferences that came into play throughout the series, it's no wonder that both Milagro and me the reader were a little confused about our feelings towards either. Well you wont be confused for long. I thought it was the perfect finale for Milagro.
Bottom Line: If I could, I'd never let Milagro go, but this surprising tale of "what ifs" and second chances left me beyond satisfied.
Milagro's life has had some crazy ups and downs ever since meeting Oswald Grant and Ian Ducharme. Some might say she's a magnet for trouble.
The last time that trouble was calling her name, Milagro was about to marry Oswald. Everything bad that could of happened, did happen. Poor Milagro! She ends up losing Oswald, who she still loves. Even though she is with Ian now, she just wishes for a do over - to do things differently. Be careful what you wish for Milagro cause you just might get it...
Where do I even start! I could go on at length - but that would involve so many spoilers, and I don't want to do that. First off I just straight up loved this story. A Casa Dracula story never disappoints there is always something excited or shocking going on. Haunted Honeymoon is an action packed romp, full of hilarious moments. I had a hard time putting it down, was very eager to see how things would play out. A must read!
This is the last book in the Casa Dracula series. I love all these characters, its so fun visiting their world. They definitely will be missed. Milagro is a fabulous character. She's smart and laugh out loud funny. There are times you'd like to shake her, cause she doesn't always do the sane thing -- but in the end it's hard not falling in love with her. The ending was a bit surprising, but I think it's the perfect HEA for Milagro.
Sadly, Haunted Honeymoon is the final installment of the Casa Dracula series. I will miss reading about Milagro's adventures but all good things must come to an end I suppose. On the bright side, the book is absolutely fantastic! Despite the horrors Milagro has been through she maintains her wit and humor but we also get to see why Milagro behaves the way she does and how she may use that wit to hide her real feelings from others and herself. It is a great insight into what makes her tick. I believe that going through what she did and realizing things about herself results in her know more firmly who she really is and what she wants and deserves.
Marta ended the series on the best possible note...we finally get to see who Milagro ends up with. I laughed. I cried (tears of happiness for Milagro of course). I am not an overly sentimental person, but over the course of the series I have fallen in love with these characters. When I read about them I feel what they feel whether it is confusion, happiness, grief, etc. I am there with them. It is hard to say goodbye to these wonderful and interesting people, but everyone is happy and so I am too.
Haunted Honeymoon ends the Casa Dracula series perfectly. Milagro is finally right where she belongs. Everything about this book is spot on. And fans will rejoice when both Oswald and Ian's true inner selves are revealed.
Silly wacky Milagro has adventures galore, often finding herself somewhere instead of making things happen. This becomes obvious once she really finds that she has no control. In the end, she takes charge of her life and is finally, completely happy.
There are lots of unforeseen twists along the way, including a fun-filled jaunt to London. As mentioned in the synopsis, Milagro deals with a bout of amnesia. Instead of being annoying as most instances of this particular plot twist are, the amnesia is a pivotal, revealing, laugh out loud escapade that makes the book all that more perfect. By far, the very best book in the series.
her amnesia is great part of the story, and showed a new side to Oz. Her trip to England is good. For a change the "bad boy" gets the girl. story flowed well, and had some great twists. The only thing that bothered me in this series is that during a chapter the story moves from one scene to another and there is nothing to let you know. Often there is either a new chapter or a big gap or a line/figure/picture of some sort to seperate things. I found myself having to stop and re-read because the story changed gears and I needed to as well. I didn't happen often. I hope there is another book, another mystery or adventure would be great, I really like the Grant family and something involving the whole family and her & Ian working together could be funny.
Still don't like Milagro very much but she's making progress in this book. Things also turn out a bit happier for the characters surrounding her. I don't know why they put up with her or her shenanigans!
Same elements as before: Milagro partying, Oswald and Ian troubles, and someone trying to kill Milagro.
Again, lots more progress in this book - both in character and plot. Hope this continues in the rest of the series!
One thing that REALLY bugged me - characters who should know better saying 'adieu'. Unless they're going for some unwitty and uncreative humor, it doesn't make ANY sense. I hope it's that I just don't get it, not that the author made a boo-boo.
Loved this book. Milagro had to grow up to figure out what she wanted and where she was supposed to be. She loved, got hurt, lost love, ran away, explored, accepted... with good results. She learned to be honest with herself and expect the honesty in return from others. She FINALLY figured out the difference between getting what you want and getting what you think you should have. Great way to wrap up the series.
What can I say about this series of books. Marta Acosta is a brilliant writer. The descriptive ways of these books made me feel like I was right there with every character. I could feel what they felt and see what they saw. Utterly amazing. I am so glad that the main character Milagro finally received her happy ending. I look forward to more books by Marta Acosta and hope that she will eventually write another to this series.
I really liked this series as a whole. This book was witty, fun and a perfect ending to the series. I loved how we got to see and truly understand why Mil was the way she was with men. She finally made the right choice for who she is not just who she thinks she should be.
This was, probably, the BEST book in the entire series! Milagro seems to have learned a few lessons about taking care of herself (finally). However, she is still impulsive and too inclined to trust others that she shouldn't trust. BUT that works to her advantage in this (as far as I can tell) final book in the series.
What happens to Milagro in this book is not her fault (for once). She is trying to escape a group of scientists who want her blood in order to make their military clones (zombies) more powerful. Ian's neighbors are murdered and it's this that starts off the adventure. After Ian is discovered to be cheating on her with Ilena (or so Milagro believes) she goes to London and has a fling herself. Unfortunately, the fling responded is murdered and left in Mil's bed to which she returns home to. To stay safe she is taken to Oswald's ranch, falls and hits her head, and suffers Amnesia. THIS was the best part of the book as she doesn't remember anything of the past two years!!! It's funny and yet heartwrenching. And what happens to the dead people will knock your socks off!!! :)
I really enjoyed this book as the author gave everyone a motive and a clear personality.
This time its gone full on out there in terms of both Milagros behaviour and the events in the book.
Topless blood wrestling, zombie ex-vampire surfers, cloned cats, and a bout of amnesia to a wacky ride that whilst not exactly full of suspense is entertaining enough. The conclusion was fairly obvious although there was a time during the amnesia that you just thought 'Nooooooo' when the grants came back on the scene and especially Oswald.
Still it turned out well enough and wrapped up the loose ends.
And enjoyable if quirky series and I hope we see more of Milagro and Ian's adventures in the future.
This author is amazing! Her vocabulary is out of this world, and she wrapped up the series without leaving any holes. I am a fan!
This book had a well-paced plot, twists and turns that I didn't see coming, and some real growth in characters. I missed seeing more of Edna, because I really like her, not because she was needed in the plot. At the end, everyone is happy and hopeful for their future.
Contains sex scenes (not explicit, but more than she's had in the other books), a few swear words (mainly the F word), and violence (death, murder, abduction, torture, threatened rape).
I’ve enjoyed reading a series that hasn’t taken itself too seriously. Our heroine has had many adventures and misadventures, comically and otherwise. I’m glad the author didn’t drag the storyline on indefinitely and gave us and Milagro a happily ever after ending.
I enjoyed this series. but was left with questions. While Oswald and our heroine resolved their angst and turmoil, we never got over her parental abuse. It would be nice to see " my mother Regina", and Ray D get a little comeuppance in a new story that gives the happily ever after.
“Milagro, you can’t keep living off payoffs for failed murder attempts. What would you do if nobody ever tried to kill you again?
A fascinating, warm hearted story, Milagro escapes an abduction and after a fall has amnesia, has no memory of the last few years. Oswald takes advantage of this.
This is a wonderful series of books. When I first saw the books, I wasn't quite sure but a few pages in and I had to buy the whole series. Milagro grew up a normal girl. When she met Oswald and suffered an "accident" she became.... More. Enjoyed everything about this series.
This book was actually creative and the characters were well developed and real. I want them to be my friends. I laughed in this book and clearly the author is well educated and I enjoyed her bon mots about literature. Fantastic, interesting and funny as well as kind. Loved this book. Thank you for writing this.
Perfect solution to the Paranormal Romantic Comedy series.
Haunted Honeymoon begins with murder and mayhem. I couldn’t put it down. The witticism is truly fun. Our favorite characters are all on board as our ‘Miracle of the Saints ‘ is injured and has amnesia. You must read it for yourself. Recommended
