The Red Siren
Upon starting this novel, I was not completely enthralled with the character of Faith. She is independent, and feminist, and arrogant. After learning her background and coming to understand her plight I was able to allow her into my heart more. My first adventure with MaryLu Tyndall's The Falcon and the Sparrow was able to show me that MaryLu was a fabulous story teller. This book was able to show me that I want more and more and that the story is not long enough. I have not yet read her original pirate series, but now I must, as well as I cannot wait for the next in the Charles Towne Belle Series to come out.

This book brings us three sisters with very different lives, a naval officer with a past but a present and future guided by God, as well as two ex-slaves that are learning more about love and family than they knew in their years before. The author truly brings to life realistic characters that make you smile and make you cringe. From the First Mate who does not know what he wants to the heir or the city who is a pompous fool. There is hope and a light for all people, it just depends on if you are strong enough to look for it.

It took a couple chapters, but once I was sucked in, and curious for more, I could not stop turning the pages until I found out what would happen next. At each turn of events and situation I had no clue as to how anything could possibly work out and I was pleasantly surprised through out the entire journey to be thoroughly entertained and educated in the pirate and naval world of early Charles Towne, Carolina.

I highly recommend this story as well as anything else by MaryLu (M.L.) Tyndall and other related authors as well such as Kathleen Y'Barbo. Go read it. You will not be disappointed!

The Blue Enchantress
As the pages turn I can hear the metal clanging of sword and the roar of a wave and smell the sea spray. I can hear gulls cry and picture the fish swimming beneath the aquamarine glass of water. Imagery is fabulously portrayed in this second book of the Charles Towne Belles trilogy following a second sister Hope. In the first book, readers were introduced to Faith, a proper lady of Charles Towne, who also happens to be a red haired pirate known as the Red Siren and her two sisters Hope and Grace. Grace is the pious, yet seemly zealous sister who appears to know all when it comes to God and I look forward to her story in the third novel.

Hope is one of those characters who grates on your nerves. She happens to do the most ignorant things and get into the most compromising situations and you just want to wash your hands of her. This story of the "Blue Enchantress" is the telling of Hope and how she can have a future if she reaches for it. This is one of those stories where a reader can really relate to Hope and her situation. Who among us has not done something in their past that they felt was unforgivable and that they were too terrible for God to really love. Through out the pages of this pirate adventure, many characters are brought together and show the various elements of realistic people. The missionary, the average Christian male, the pompous jerk with an authority position, and the broken woman and more.

It is a reminder and a vivid picture of how each person we come in contact with changes us, as we do to them as well. Some for the good, some for the bad. This is part of a trilogy, but could easily be read as a stand alone novel and enjoyed. Just as the epilogue in the first novel left you thirsting for this one, this epilogue makes you impatient for the third.

Highly recommended. One that makes you smile secretly to yourself as well as almost throw it down with angry emotion - this book is a page turner of adventure.

The Raven Saint
MaryLu is an author that I always enjoy. During my move this book disappeared and I did not get to finish it. It was very frustrating, but then while I was reading my latest sea-bound adventure Ransome's Crossing I found the hiding book. So I jumped from one adventurous romance ship-set journey to another in a different part of the ocean.

Each of the Charles Towne Belles novels has given an inside view to a different sister with extremely unique personality. I wish there was a fourth book about the last sister, yet I will take what I can get. Grace Westcott is the pious sister, and in the past books I did not really like her. Yet as I was able to know her personality and think about her perilous situation of being kidnapped and taken aboard a ship to be sold into slavery to a Spanish Don I was able to grow with her and learned to love her.

How many of us are like the Rich Man or the Pharisee that think we have everything figured out. Learning each day that it is not about us, but about the bigger picture and about Christ is quite the experience. Rafe Dubois is a fabulous character and brought me many smiles to see his inner personality wander the page. Each chapter was exciting and thrilling as I anticipated and could not wait for what would happen next.

Every book with MaryLu is a delight and I cannot wait for more. Especially her new Surrender to Destiny series with it's beautiful covers!

This trilogy was FABULOUS!!!!!!!!!! M.L. Tyndall is an amazing author. I was mesmerized by the first book in the series, The Red Siren. All of the characters were believable and I loved Faith and Dajon. The Blue Enchantress was even better than I expected and probably my favorite of the series. Hope was an amazing character with very real flaws and I thought Nathaniel was awesome, too. The third book, The Raven Saint was decent, but definantly not my favorite. Grace and Rafe's characters weren't quite believable, but I liked it nonetheless. This trilogy was based off of the parable of the seeds in Mathew.

Great stories. The three Westcott sisters are so different from each other. Faith is a pirate, unbeknownst to her siblings. Hope loves a scoundrel and refuses to listen to anything negative about him. Grace is very religious and endangers herself going about the area on errands of mercy. Each one faces great challenges, but overcomes them. Faith is captured and thrown in prison to face either the noose or a marriage that would be worse than death. Hope learns the truth about Lord Falkland when he causes her to be put on the slave auction block in St. Kitts. Grace is kidnapped by a pirate who plans to sell her to a Spanish Don for revenge. Of course, there are also handsome, exciting men in each of these stories, and, of course, they fall head over heels in love. Each is a riveting story, with fear, danger, excitement, romance, and above all, coming to know God. I loved this book and would recommend it to everyone. Don't miss their sister Charity's story in "Charity's Cross."

REVIEW FOR ALL 3 BOOKS IN Charles Towne Belles Series
M.L. Tyndall

THE RED SIREN book#1 Charles Towne Belles Series
M.L. Tyndall

•°o•:*¨¨*:•. AVAST YE LANDLUBBERS, FAITH FILLED ADVENTURES AWAIT.•:*¨¨*:• o°•

I loved this entire series and read all 3 over a 6 day period in honor of Natl. Talk Like a Pirate Day (-smile). There are exciting adventures upon the high seas in the early 1700s, miraculous deeds, as well as evil presence (things many Christian authors do not bother to address).
Some of the exciting characters:
Dajon (hard name I disliked – I chose to say Dayon in my head), soft spoken, good morals, seeking to climb the ladders of success in the British Navy. Unexpectedly assigned to watch over 3 grown sisters, while their admiral father is called away on a 6-month assignment.
Bickering Sisters: Faith Wescott, headstrong character, no belief in God, secretly a pirate!
Hope Wescott, appears frivolous, stupid, self-centered, no faith in God.
and Grace Wescott, self-governed by biblical rules, not by grace – wears hair in a tight pulled-back bun.
Red parrot belonging to Faith, fun character
Admiral Wescott, is an arrogant ass who cares little about his daughter’s desires and what is truly best for them.
Molly – the negro cook who is genuinely concerned and faith-filled.
Lucas – mulato 1st mate to Faith, and the family groomsman, who secretly has a crush on Molly
Sir Welhelm – Faith’s recently disgusting betrothed, unless she can outwit her father
Lots of fun to read!
I give it 5 out of 5 stars and would recommend it to others.

THE BLUE ENCHANTRESS book#2 Charles Towne Belles Series
M.L. Tyndall

•°o•:*¨¨*:•. YO HO, YO HO A PIRATE’S LIFE FOR ME.•:*¨¨*:• o°•

I loved this entire series and read all 3 over a 6 day period in honor of Natl. Talk Like a Pirate Day (-smile). There are exciting adventures upon the high seas in the early 1700s, miraculous deeds, as well as evil presence (things many Christian authors do not bother to address).

Hope Wescott is a spoiled child of a young woman. She has been having an affair with Lord Faulkland, a disgusting pompous user of women. When he tells her he is leaving on a ship, she decides it best to stowaway and “surprise” him. He sells her out to the captain, who then has her sold at auction!

Coming to her rescue is Nathan Mason, who has handmade 2 ships of his own, is an orphan adopted by a local preacher, and a true man of God.

During their time on a ship, there is an intense hurricane that leads them to be marooned on an island. Many adventures and damsel in distress moments ensue.

Abigail, a young, faith filled daughter of murdered missionaries is also marooned on the island, along with a handful of other characters (some not-so-nice).

Captain Poole, discovers them on the island. He is a pirate with an unusual sense of duty toward God and certain women, such as wives.

I was so happy Hope grew out of most of her childish ways, and came to Christ along with others maturing in Him.

I give it 5 out of 5 stars and would recommend it to others.

THE RAVEN SAINT book#3 Charles Towne Belles Series
M.L. Tyndall
•°o•:*¨¨*:•. HIGH SEAS ADVENTURE.•:*¨¨*:• o°•

I loved this entire series and read all 3 over a 6 day period in honor of Natl. Talk Like a Pirate Day (-smile). There are exciting adventures upon the high seas in the early 1700s, miraculous deeds, as well as evil presence (things many Christian authors do not bother to address).

French Captain Rafe Dubois has been offered 500 pounds to help with the Spanish get revenge against British Navy Admiral Wescott. All he has to do is kidnap the Admiral’s daughter, Grace Wescott.

Grace Wescott is very judgmental, and is constantly second guessing God, trying to figure out why she has been either abandoned by God or chosen by Him for this task to possibly help someone. She has a long road ahead, but in the end, God has used her and has never left or forsaken her.

Assisting aboard ship is Father Alers, who has walked away from his faith after being convinced men are to evil and only pretend Christianity. Although a rough and burly man, he is definitely genteel and kind.

Spyglass the cat, is a favorite character, who seems to be used by God whenever she is most needed.

Many characters are not what they seem, and it will take a lot for both Grace and Rafe to discover their true motives – be it good or bad.

I give it 5 out of 5 stars and would recommend it to others.

There are three of Marylu Tyndall's full-size novels in this trilogy, The Red Siren, The Blue Enchantress and The Raven Saint. The stories centered around sisters who were the daughters of an absentee Admiral father and how his physical and emotional distance impacted each woman. While the author has a particular style that is distinctive, each story was unique and I enjoyed all three. I love how Marylu Tyndall writes great escapist fiction that can just sweep me away, but there's always a deeper message. There's a fourth book in the series, and I'm looking forward to finding out what happens to the fourth Westcott sister.

Exciting, adventurous and fast paced

What an amazing series!! I read this for free through my prime membership but would've bought it if I knew how good it was. I have not ever read fictional pirate stories so this was refreshing. The locations the characters live and sail to also interested me because I just returned from a cruise sailing out of Charleston and visited the islands of St Kitts, Puerto Rico, Martinique, St Thomas and Antigua. The authors characters are strong women, each h with their own flaws and strengths. The differences between them and their issues bring them to life. Faith is strong and independent. Hope started as sheltered and shy but once the author delves into her character her strengths emerge as well as her found Faith in Christ. And then there is pious Grace whose unwavering dedication to her religion and duties gets lessons in life on judging others that she feels are not up to her Christian standards. During g all these trials with the three sisters, of course love blossoms in th most curious ways. Great inspirational series!

Marylu Tyndall writes great Christian fiction romances. My favorite in this series was The Raven Saint. I loved how much the hero and then heroine changed and came to understand the Grace of God.
