Lovely bags from 30s, 40s etc, I am making the Lois bag, finding it quite difficult, maybe I have the wrong fabric, I dunno. Not easy straightforward bag. I’ve made a few bags before, been sewing for 53 years! I’ll try making one more....

The book has tons of patterns for purses that reflect styles from the 1920's-50's. I haven't tried any of them yet, but they look like they're pretty easy to do. Good inspirations. You can probably mix and match some of the pieces.

I liked the patterns but had to enlarge them a little more than it suggest as they were too small for me. The bags are cute and chic but don't fit much in. Most patterns and instructions were easy enough for beginners to make, and the bags make nice home made gifts.

overall I found this one kind disappointing. There was really only a couple of bags that I found cute and would have wanted to make.

I really liked a few of the styles but by the end I realized it was all variations of one simple design. Great for beginners but not the most functional bag.
