Tons of useful and thorough information presented in a fun and user friendly way. Chapter titles like “Scared Shitless:Postpartum Pee and Poo” and “Hemorrhoids:what a pain in the ass” had me giggling. Will definitely be revisiting sections of this book throughout my pregnancy.
Pregnancy can to be overwhelming as there is so much information out there. I looked at different books to read and ended up with this one. I’m happy I did. I found that some books didn’t have many illustrations (boring read) or had too many (distracting). This book gives the amount of information and it’s a pleasant to read format.
It definitely helped me with my confidence regarding first to fourth trimester. I find myself going back to this book as I go through each trimester as a resource. Even with taking pregnancy classes. My favorite part is checking off all the lists and recommendations. It’s been great at keeps me on track and organized!
Definitely can’t recommend this book enough. I look forward to reading the next book “The Simplest Baby Book In The World”.
Overall good book, butI must admit there was one section where I thought it kind of sounds like a man wrote this. The paragraph talked about it being perfectly fine if you’re not interested in sex after delivery, “but it is very important to demonstrate your love.” I wonder if a woman would put that on her own “very important” list after giving birth and caring for a newborn. I’ve seen this is in other books and it’s worded very differently, which I personally preferred.
This was a great book and an even better introduction to what I was stepping into during pregnancy. The simple, well-organized sections made it easy to absorb the information I needed at the right time. Now that I’m in my final month of pregnancy, I’ve completed it, and I’m really glad I did. It answered so many of my questions and, just as importantly, helped me realize what I needed to learn more about, and things I didn’t even know to ask.
I was looking for something that wouldn’t be overwhelming, but still very informative and this book was the perfect fit. It made learning about the effects of pregnancy easy. If you need a book to ease you into this topic then you should pick this up.
Quick and easy to read, modern alternative to “What to expect…” books. Felt weird that the author was male, but he did his research. Liked his baby book better.
