Forced to flee to the First Hunger and escape the wrath of the Crown and their new, deranged leader, Drake and his companions soon find themselves caught up in a civil war which threatens to tear the cosmos apart. A new enemy, one of the elder gods, has risen from obscurity, aligning herself with Chaos itself in a bid to topple the existing hierarchy and reshape the multiverse to her own designs.
Book 4 of The Seven Hungers series places Drake in a new kind of peril, forcing him to battle not only his own inner demons, but the malevolent force of Chaos itself. The fulfilment of prophecy hangs in the balance as does the fate of humankind and every citizen of the Hungers.
Perfect for fans of Brad Magnarella, Shayne Silvers, and M. D. Massy. ** This book contains graphic descriptions of nightmarish monsters, with a dash of gore. If you're turned off by horror elements, this may not be the series for you. If you're fine with a little creepy, monstery type terror, then fill your boots! **
Here's what readers are saying about The Seven "Truly spell binding!" "I just couldn't put it down..every chapter end makes you excited to start the next!" Just as with the other books in this series, I'm already reading the next one in this series. I don't know what I'll do when I finish it 😭 I guess I'll have to read his other books and hope the author continues writing such great stories. I don't know how I've found out about both this author and this world so late in my reading. I think this would be an awesome TV show, so Netflix - please do something about it 😀
Forced into the First Hunger to evade the Crown's wrath, Ambrose Drake, Rook and Janus unintentionally plunge into a civil war threatening cosmic collapse in "The Seven Hungers: Dark Whispers" by Morgan Quaid. A newfound nemesis, an Elder God, allies with Chaos to reshape the multiverse. In Book 4 of The Seven Hungers Series, Drake confronts perils beyond inner demons, battling Chaos to fulfill prophecy and safeguard humanity in a universe at stake.
Reading Dark Whispers feels like playing a video game. Ambrose Drake is the hero main character you want to be playing as. The descriptions of First Hunger are awesome, and the action and demon fights are exciting! The ending leaves you craving more (aka I'm anxiously awaiting a 5th book). This story is truly spellbinding, capturing my imagination completely. I was completely engrossed; the end of each chapter fueled anticipation for the next, making it impossible to set aside!
I was so engrossed in this novel, my jaw dropped, eyes wide, for over half of it! Brimming with thrilling action, witty sarcasm, visceral gore, delightful humor and excitement, I eagerly anticipate the next installment in this series. If you've enjoyed the other books in The Seven Hungers Series, you'll love this one, too. I highly recommend it to fans of Morgan Quaid, as well as demon possession and urban fantasy stories.
I withheld three stars because of the continuous spelling errors. For goodness sake, hire a proof reader. Great story but hard to focus on anything because of the numerous spelling errors.
Ok, Teddy is back but will be good and use mature words in my reviews.
I had to beg to read this book as I am addicted to Devil Survivor on Nintendo. If you had the chance to play Devil Survivor, you will want to read this book. There were many levels to Devil Survivor and there are many levels in this great book.
This book takes you in like you are playing a game on your system. Ambrose is the character you want to be in this book. The level of description was excellent. The action and demon fights made this a super read. The ending of this book leaves you wanting more.
A great book that will be loved by those who have had the luck to read the other Seven Hunger books. Having read this one, I want to read them all. I can't recommend this enough to anyone who loves this author or anyone who loves demon possession fiction.
Disclaimer: I received a copy from the author in the hopes I'd review it.
