This book was one of my favorites as a child. I read it and looked through the extraordinary illustrations over and over again. It sparked my love of history, mythology, and anthropology. I'm pretty sure it eventually got water damage because I'd read it in the bath. Recently repurchased and added back to my library shelf. This book is an excellent book for children and teenagers interested in history and the Ancient World (especially Egypt, Greece, and Rome); Further it serves as a convenient desk reference and overview for adults and students of these topics. Highly recommended.
