Welcome to an off-kilter, dark, and often humorous world. It’s a world that reminds us much of our own, but not quite. These eight literary offerings are the stuff of dreams—or nightmares. But even nightmares can provide a much-needed distraction, pulling us away from our cares for just a little while ...
This was not at all what I was expecting!!! I really thought these stories were going to be scary, or at the very least, a bit strange. I have never laughed so hard at a book in my entire life. The stories WERE slightly weird, but hilarious!! And the poem was AMAZING!!
The anthology called Fatal Distractions has a diverse cast of amazing writers who are not afraid to explore death in unique and unexpected ways. Can we outsmart the grim reaper or cheat death and suffer no consequences? Can the Plutonians survive their deadly encounters with the inhabitants of earth? Can lost and damned souls be saved? Other mind-bending tales in the anthology explore what happens when two parallel universes meet; and… lets us envision what it’s like to find your way back from addiction and insanity? Also… we know lovers can meet under strange circumstances; but, is it possible to keep it a secret through an entire marriage? And… what happens when the kids find out when one of them passes away? Fatal Distractions is a five-star read that will make you laugh, ponder, and reflect the strange mysterious world of the great unknown and discover what lies beyond. Highly recommend.
I have read many books from this author Virginia Wallace but my first from this amazing collection of authors that are represented in this anthology. There is something for everyone to enjoy - short stories, poetry. If you like mystery, suspense with a touch of humor and horror then this is the book for you. This is very well written and a quick read. I highly recommend this book to everyone. Can not wait to read the next one.
Going into Fatal Distractions I expected the usual eerie vibe from V but I was slapped with a collection of perfection! I kid you not, I enjoyed every one of the stories and the scary thing is how realistic they were to me as a reader and it gave me a sense of belonging. Maybe that is weird but I swear this was indeed a distraction I didn't know I needed. Borrowed Time is possibly my favorite of the collection because of the unique perspective of the reaper.
I am not usually one to read a collection of short stories, but I’m glad I read these. They are sad, sweet, and yet tell a story or lesson for how to look at life. They are also a bit dark but not in a bad way!
These stories were great and I loved the poem at the end.
