Once I got a few chapters into this book, I realized it was most definitely not written for a layperson. This book was written for historical scholars who already know a great deal about the Reformation. So, many parts were either over my head or more detailed than I was looking for.

Having said that, though, I still give it 4 stars. It's a well-written and thoroughly researched book, and I learned from it.
