Ok, first of all its not "digital photography" if you take the pictures on film, scan them in and then add a photoshop filter to it. That's called (bad) photo editing. There's even a section on how to put the finished product BACK on film!

Second, it may be in alphabetical order, but when I see something that is "a-z" I think "complete set of information" not "look they found a filter for each letter of the alphabet."

Third, it's no defense that this book was written in 2006 and is out of date. I was taking digital photos then too and they were looking a lot better than some of the shots in this book. I was also using photoshop in 2006 to add similar filters and deciding they looked stupid and scrapping them. But I guess that's just me.

Whatever. The book was BAD. It was not helpful to me as a newly minted "professional" photographer and I am VERY glad I didn't actually spend money on it.

Many of the techniques in this book will be familiar to Photoshop users. For those who aren't, this book is a great jumping off place to get your feet wet with Photoshop.
