Josephine “Josie” Bishop is a computer whiz by day and a Domme by night. Since the first day she walked into Blacklight Security and first laid eyes on Miles Standish, she was in love. She made every attempt to show him how she felt, short of climbing him like a tree, and she did this for six long years.
When Miles kills the man, who is threatening a few lives, he changes. He retreats into his own head, regret and guilt weighing him down. He isn’t living but merely existing. Josie watches him for six years and watches the changes in him.
When a mutual friend invites Miles to Club Eden, a BDSM Club, Josie makes the rash decision to help Miles in the only way she knows how, through Domination and Submission.
One secret could tear them apart forever while one secret could bond them.
Can Miles get past the betrayal of learning who Mistress Jasmine is? Can Josie finally open to him and reveal her biggest secret?
I’ve been following the Secrets series and I must admit, this is my favorite story so far. Josie is strong willed and determined to get Miles. It’s awesome to read a book where it isn’t about a damsel in distress but rather a man who needs saving. Don’t get me wrong, I love the damsel in distress books, but it’s nice to see the woman being the one who saves the day.
From the prologue, I couldn’t put the book down. My heart broke for Josie through the entire story, being in love with someone who didn’t share the feelings or didn’t want to admit them, and my heart broke for Miles. The best part? The epilogue, LK sets up the stage for her next book and by the sounds of it, it’s going to be the death of me, but what a sweet way to go.
I’m so in love with these characters! I could go on and on about how amazing the story is but there aren’t enough words in the English language to describe it, so I’ll leave you with this, make sure you have a box of tissues, a glass of wine and maybe a few cupcakes when you read this story, because I guarantee you will need one of those if not all three. I know I did!
I will sit here on pins and needles while waiting for the next story.
This book is an absolute MUST read!
