What happens when Mundane, Altered, and Mythic shifters collide?
Despite her best efforts, Mythic shifter Sarai finds herself back at Reficio after a very public and humiliating meltdown. There she meets Aodhán, an Altered shifter whose past trauma hides more than either of them realizes.
Something is very wrong in the shifter world. Cyril signed up to uncover and dismantle operations that could hurt the shifter community, but the rabbit hole goes deeper than even the Shifter Council President anticipated.
Thrown together by circumstance, emotions run hot when mate bonds form between the trio. When the worst occurs and one of their own disappears, not only do they have to navigate their way through their mating but what they discover blows everything they thought they knew apart.
This book is set in an interlinked universe with shifters, fated mates, knots, heats, and where the FMC doesn't have to choose. It contains mature content, language, violence between shifters in both human and animal forms, scenes of torture and scientific experimentation, mentions of past abuse and infidelity, and scenes of a sexual nature including M/M. It is intended for audiences 18+. If you're not 18 or older, put the book down and go ask your parents. Go on, shoo!
M.F. Moody is a purveyor of Contemporary, Rom-Com, Dark, Mafia, Fantasy, Paranormal, LGBTQ+, RH/Poly, and Sci-Fi Romance novels. She has a vivid and active imagination, is often blunt to the point of brutality, has a dark and warped sense of humour, absolutely no filter, no shame, is an absolute genre whore, and aspires to the giddy heights of the gutter.
M.F. Moody is married to a VERY understanding man, and together they have a boy-child, 3 cats, and apparently WAAAAY too many books and alcohol, especially as she’s the only one who drinks. Although really, is there such a thing as having too many books? And as for the alcohol, well, she’s Australian. They live in a little corner of Kent in the UK, and she enjoys confusing the locals with her accent and colloquialisms, reading, coffee, wine, reading, baking, sleeping, and did we mention reading?
Not only that but I noticed improvement from the start of the book to the very end. It was thoroughly entertaining. Shifters always are, but MF Moody always elevates it.
Plus. A unicorn. It can’t get much better than that. I really loved the connection Sarai had to her unicorn, it was so sweet and protective.
The MMCs were so caring and fun and they provided so much spice 🌶️. It was very creative ain’t no way anyone is leaving disappointed 😏.
Well that was a lot of action packed into one book! Not only did it featured the much lived characters from the first two books it added a whole new set to enjoy and fall in love with! Can't wait to read feral!
I usually do a synopsis and then my spoilers ahead alert. I'm changing things for this one. I enjoyed the Novo clan characters. When I learned that Sarai would be in this book along with Cyril I was excited. Especially with the mystery shifter hinted at in the epilogue of book 2. But nothing was...right in this book. Sarai was magically fixed. Aodhán was interesting to, but quickly became more of a background character. He was a sheltered, know nothing of the world, 23yo who just as magically as Sarai was fixed was using slang like he's known it his whole life. He never tries to learn about his parents. Even after they have the records. Jaxon has a huge meltdown and it's almost completely overlooked. Cyril barely gets any screen time and most of it is only steam scenes because his mates are trying to distract him. Which is a crap reason to finalize mate bonds with someone. There's so many time skips it's ridiculous. How come we got to meet Sarai's herd but not Granny L? And why is Granny L being so hateful to Simon? Especially as Sila and the Novos have all included him in a bond? She's hurting them by hurting Simon. And the absolute crap ton of slut shaming is awful. Just disgusting. Call the cheater a cheater. Call her a fickle friend. Call her a backstabber. Don't slut shame, don't be *that* person. Oh, and trigger warnings for mentioned attempted breeding via a program and forced bonds. And also warnings for the coercion of Sarai by her ex to do things she wasn't comfortable with. So, yeah, you could say I was not as charmed by this sequel as I was the previous books. What could have been really amazing characters became 2D caricatures with so many time skips that you never get to know them. Where was Cyril teaching Aodhán how to navigate the mall? Letting him paint his nails to see if he liked it? Where was Sarai and Cyril actually bonding after circling each other for years? Aodhán never gets to discover a favorite food. Sarai goes from anxiety leprechaun party sneezes and bruises to graceful Beauty in .02 seconds all because of...well nothing mentioned really, it's just magically fixed via love. And fabulous flirty flamboyant Cyril is suddenly a quiet muted persona after the first few pages. Everyone changed but it wasn't development or growth. They just suddenly weren't who they were.
"Mythic" is the third book in the Altered Shifters Universe, and even though it involves different main characters compared to the first two books, I wouldn't suggest reading it as a standalone because there's a bigger plot involved that forms over the entire series. While there was no MM present in the first two books of this series, Mythic involves a menage relationship where all relationships between the three characters are equal. I like the dynamic between these three, and I'm actually happy it's "just" the three of them because there's a lot to unpack in this book with some challenging relationship development on top of that.
I love a good fated mates story, and I like how the shifter animals play a true part in picking out their partners. With their POV's included in the story, they become their own characters and personalities, and it adds an interesting dynamic to the storyline. Mythic also builds on the main storylines of the first two books, and I'm truly starting to feel for Simon. It's awesome to watch a true redemption arc, while the relationships he destroyed can't go back to how they were before the choices he made. It's done really well, in a way where I'm becoming hopefull he'll find his own HEA in the next book(s).
Mythic has some interesting shifter animals. We already met our lady unicorn in the second book, but I'm not going to give away spoilers about the guys. I was happy to get to know Cyril better in this book, and even though his relationship with Sarai felt a little rushed at times, I loved the MM relationship he builds with Aodhan. This third book was a very interesting one, where we get to know more about the world these characters are living in, and I'm looking forward to more of it in the future.
This is the third book in this world and although the main characters from the other books are in this series they aren’t the main characters, but we do still get to see how their lives are going. It starts by following Simon at Raficio and the new friends he made there. Including a unicorn and a fire wolf. Sarai whose unicorn is called Saux is back again after an unfortunate incident with her boyfriend or rather now ex boyfriend cheating on her with her once best friend. Causing her to be quite upset and shift damaging his car. The least of what he deserves if you ask me. The dire wolf was found by Jaxon the instructor after he escaped from somewhere he doesn’t want to say too much as he’s scared the scientists will find him. Cyril is visiting Simon his blood brother and realises that Adhon and Sarai are his mates. Simon blood bonds with both Sarai and Adhon to expand his bonds after his previous family bonds were destroyed. Loads of twists and turn come from this book as it initially follows the theeesome discovering about each other and the he’ll that Adhon has been through. It also deals with the shifter trials for what happened to Simon and Sila. I really liked the ending for the duck and the rabbit. Honestly a brilliant read. My favourite of the series so far, I’m impatiently waiting for what happens next.

I have definitely found a new Author and series to add to my favorites! I still love my normal shifters but I'll never get enough of the altered shifters. From beginning to ending there is so much action, drama, sexual awaking, loyalty, love and surprises that you just can't stop reading. This is book 3 in the Altered Shifters world, it can be read as a standalone as the back stories are explained really well, but it also carries on from the first two books (duet), so I would recommend reading them first.
Cyril and Sarai were side characters in the duet but this is now their book. I really liked Aodhan and his animals, they brought something new to the story, although considering he's been in captivity for so long he adapts very quickly to everything that he's encountered. The three are mates and things get very steamy (MM, MF & MMF). I don't feel like I got to know these characters as well as in the duet, possibly due to it being a single book but maybe also because there was so much going on and so many other characters included from the duet.
I really like the world-building in this series, the way the shifters are treated and looked after is different to PNR books I've read recently and is really refreshing.
This book gets quite brutal for one part of the story (check the tw's) and the mates are very much 'I will burn the earth for my mate' so be prepared for lots of postering.
The story doesn't completely tie up loose ends and the epilogue sets up the next book - I'm really looking forward to reading that one.
Back to Reficio, this time with an extra oddity -Aodhan, a man with two beasts inside, who suffered torment and experiments and life in solitude for years. But he manages to connect with several other altered supernaturals at Reficio - Simon, whom we met in the previous two books, now completely changed after what happened to him; Sarai, the altered unicorn that briefly appeared in the story before, and Cyril, a friend of Sila who was the star of the previous story. This ragtag group not only manages to bond deeply, but also goes on a vengeance mission against the Vieux Sang, an undercover organization that altered not only Aodhan... This crazy and emotional story is very intriguing, dramatic, and full of action, with very interesting and complex characters that all deal with their own trauma and demons. I loved watching the relationships grow and form, loved the drive and determination and protectiveness of each other. Seeing the justice served warmed my heart, and if there would be any more story in this world, I would gladly read it too.
This is the third instalment in the Altered Shifters Universe series by this Author, which dives deeper into an already amazing world where shapeshifters aren't just creatures of Myths and lore but complex characters with wonderful stories. This instalment is a stand-alone that expands this universe with new myths.
This instalment is based on shapeshifter lore with unique twists that keep the story interesting with new slants – the unique shapeshifters have strong animals who have to contend with their very human emotions and conflicts, which makes an interesting depth to the overall story. Sarai is
The Plot is fast-paced, with a great balance of action, mystery, and romance mixed in with Destiny. A great amount of Sugar & Spice is just the sprinkles on this exciting supernatural adventure in which Cyril and Sarai and Adohan have an amazing MMF. I really didn’t think I would like a Unicorn Shifter as, for some reason, it gives me the hebe gibies, but I was able to navigate around this as I really love this world and the stories this author weaves within it.
I have to say before anything else, that I am loving this series, the characters are all so likeable and the storylines are just so compelling. But, oh, my heart bled for Sarai, she was such an unconfident, anxious person and after the way her boyfriend treated her I'm not surprised she hit back, landing her back at Reficio, the rehabilitation centre for shifters. But when she met Aodhan everything changed for her, and him! I loved it when they met each other and their animals just knew, then the later meeting with Cyril, which threw them all for a loop but each for different reasons. I loved watching their relationship develop and grow and the way they befriended Simon and were there to help and support him. My heart broke for Aodhan, for all he had been put through for the past 14 years but loved that he managed to get some closure on it. Another snippet at the end to hook you for the next book and I'm here for it!
Mythic is a book in the world of the Altered books. If you've read the first two, then you will be familiar with most of the characters in this book. Sarai had been crushing in Cyril for a while but never took any action, because she thought he was gay. Cyril had also been having feelings for Sarai but hadn't made a move because it wasn't common knowledge that he was bi and his work took kept him away from her a lot of the time. Then enters a traumatized Altered shifter Aodhan and the sparks start to fly literally. Action wise, both physical and spicy, this book felt a bit slower than the first two books. On a romance level, the MCs recognized their connection very early on but their coming together was very slow, due to trama. Most of this book was about healing and creating emotional connections. We did get a nice burst of action toward the end of the book and that cliffhanger ending has me ready and waiting for the next book.
Mythic, the third book in the Altered Shifters Universe series by M.F. Moody was the ultimate of emotional rollercoaster rides! If you loved the first two books in this amazingly new unique shifter universe, then you are going to love this one! Moody has a war of creating captivating new worlds with amazing characters that are full of tons of drama, nonstop action, twists and turns and of course lots of steamy goodness you just don’t ever want to stop reading! Just know going in this one does have some moments where you go from wanting to hurt and maim certain people to crying for the others with all the betrayal, abuse and gut wrenching turns—and that ending?!?! I can’t wait for more of this world from this author!!! Cyril and Sarai and Adohan are everything!
The author really hit it out of the park. While this technically can be read as a stand-alone to truly understand the emotional impact of the situations throughout the book (as well as general world building) it is best to have read Altered part 1 and 2 before this book. Sarai is introduced in the first book of the series and this book shares her story of becoming a unicorn shifter. This author is so witty and wonderful. I mean "Hell hath no fury like a hell-hound's enranged unicorn mate." C'mon that's fantastic! Even better "F@ck diamonds, detachable shower heads are a frustrated and horny girl's best friend."
MF gives us another wonderful book in the Altered Shifters Universe and makes us ask "what now? Seriously?" The story of Sarai, Aodhán and Cyril begins when we meet Aodhán when he's rescued by Jaxon (an instructor at Reficio). Then we are reintroduced to Sarai and Cyril. We get to watch them discover each other and more about themselves as they charge through huge twists, turns and hairy situations. (Pun intended LOL) This beautifully written book with complex characters and plot twists that blow your mind and wrench your heart is sure to become a favourite! I loved reading this story and highly recommend the series! Don't miss out on this book!!
This is book 3 in the series, but can technically be read as a Standalone. It would be best to read the first books in the series since we meet our FMC in book 1 one.
In this book we follow our lovely unicorn shifter and her two new mates (who are also mated to each other- yummmm). We get to look into our mystery beasts' past and hunt down their packs missing brother.
This MMF has all three spending equal spicy time together, and oh boy me tell you…. the spice does NOT disappoint… there’s also unique positions and peens!
This book has spice, humor, and a great story like!!! Go read it now!!
I'm really enjoying this series. There is so much going on, with the search for Simon, and the building of the bonds between Aodhan, Sarai and Cyril as well as all their beasts. With Aodhan trying to come to terms with real society after his escape from captivity, Sarai and Cyril have their work cut out for them. There is plenty of spice, and it gathers in intensity and is hot! I love how they can't deny their bonds and as they get to know each other. The underlying search and fight to find Simon, keeps the story flowing and things interesting. Now I can't wait for the next story to find out what is going on with Simon. Another great read!
This a standalone book from the Altered Shifter world.
In this book we have Sarais story she is a unicorn 🦄 shifterwith some really unique traits. Sarai discovers her mate is Cyril but also the new guy that comes along Aodhan. Cyril is also preparing for his role on the Shifter council. Now he not only has to juggle that but but get use to his new mate along with sharing her with Aodhan.
I do suggest you read the other 2 books first since Cyril and Sarai both were characters in those books and you get to know them first. I highly recommend this universe as a must read. You won't be disappointed.
Although this story follows different characters, I strongly recommend you start at book 1 before reading this one as there are spoilers and you really need the world building that comes from the first two books before jumping into this one, although the author did a great job of bridging the gap for those who didn’t read the first books first so they weren’t overly lost. I love Seax, our FMC’s fierce alter ego! We get more background on the overall big bad that is hitting the shifter world and I’m very excited after that ending to see what comes next! No cliffhanger-in fact even things that I didn’t think about being wrapped up were well covered by the end of the story
Another great book in the Altered Shifters Universe. We learn of another brand of shifter too so that is awesome. This can be considered a standalone, but if you ask me, you need to read these in order to fully get the whole experience. We see our FMC and MMCs from Book 1 and 2, who play a role here in this one.
I am here for this series, Simon deserves his HEA, but SPOILER… not in this one. I love the new shifters we meet, their hearts, their souls, as they come alive in this book. My heart aches for the hard parts and cheers at the HAPPY ones.
For book 3 we follow our lovely unicorn shifter and her two new mates - (who are also mated to each other), looking into our mystery beasts' past and hunting down their packs missing brother. (But... Spoilers!)
M.F. does an amazing job of making this MMF and equal trio with everyone spending equal spicy time together, and let me tell you, the spice does not disappoint, with unique positions and peens!
It's spicy, it's witty, it's everything you need in a book, and it also has a crazy murder chicken. What more could you ask for?
At the Reficio Establishment, Sarai is working though some issues she had with an ex-boyfriend in a group therapy session, there she meets up with Simon, and Aodhan a new member to the group and as his story unfolds the shock triggers a reaction in Jaxon's dragon. As this story unfolds it shows how there is always a group of people trying to take over and make something they can exploit. This is another story of this author that I quickly read through you will very much enjoy what happens. I have added this author to my list of authors to keep looking for.
This series just keeps getting better and better! Book 3 is largely a new set of characters and the original gang fall into side character roles but we still see them! Cyril is well under way in his shifter council role and on a visit to Reficio to see Simon he stumbles across returning "pupil" Sarai and new boy Aodhán and they soon discover they're mates! The excitement doesn't end there once again the author has given us a packed book with drama, action, loss and lurveee🔥🔥🔥 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌶🌶🌶
Third book of the Altered Shifters Universe. The first two brought us some amazing characters. Now this one takes several we have met and adds one very important character. I so love all of these characters. The altered shifters are so unique and have been given their own twists. This one brings us a new group of mates and it definitely brings the heat. There is some m/m and oh boy is it hot. But what is the best part of the story is how this group grows emotionally closer. To see them go from heartache and pain to love and friendships. I can’t wait to see what the next book brings.
Wow, this book is hot!!! It is off the charts smoldering. I could not get enough of this trio. I am in love with this world. Sarai is a freaking unicorn. How cool is that. She isn't someone to be messed with. She keeps getting sent back to Reficio for having stability issues. This time, she encounters a new shifter that has big gaps in his past. We start to see a blooming relationship start to for. I can not get over the ending. It's a great setup for the next book. I can not wait to see where it leads us.
Mythic is a great addition to the Altered Shifters Universe. I love seeing characters from the previous books in this one. Sarai is back at Reficio after having a public meltdown. She meets Aodhán, whose past hides trama and more secrets. Along comes Cyril, who is there to uncover and dismantle operations that could damage the shifter world. The three of them form a mate bond. As the navigate their bond, one of them disappears. Will they discover where their other mate has gone? Will they get him back?
Mythic is a standalone within the Altered Shifters Universe series. While this can be read on it's own, but I highly recommend reading the previous duet, as there's some continuous plot lines.
While I was sad that Sila and her mate's story is over, we were introduced to Sarai and Cyril in the previous duet and when they find their other mate, Aodhán things get steamy! It's very fast paced and still stayed true to the fantastic world building. I was also super psyched to see characters make cameo appearances. Definitely enjoyed this book as much as the duet.
So didn’t know that this was book 3 in a series, so I was really confused when I was reading it. But not only that I was a little board with it. The author did a good job at getting you caught up with the first two books. And I really liked the concepts of the shifters, and the world building was great. And because of the great world building and concepts is why I gave the book 4 stars other than that it was a 3 star read for me .
If you read the first two books, you'll recognize one of the main characters right off the bat in this one. You'll also recognize one of the side characters that has a big part. And of course we get the Nova clan back towards the end. All still as funny as we remember from before. We meet some new characters that will keep you flipping pages to find out what next. Excellent job loved it. Highly recommend this series different shifters and funny as all HE!!
OMG if I could give this more than 5 stars I totally would. I loved this book, it was filled with tons of action and suspense. I was so excited to see the characters from the previous books in this one. Sarai was such an amazing character and her 2 mates were hot as hades. Aodhan/Garmr/Ferir are incredible and strong while Cyril is the funny and calm one. I so can not wait for the next book. I really hope that Simon has found what he was looking for.
Another great book by MF Moody. It’s great to see the story of Cyril and Sari, having seen peeks of them in the other books. And to learn more about Simon is always welcomed.
The interlinking stories from altered tie everything together amazingly and just keep you wanting more!
Another fantastic book from MF Moody, leaving us with more questions and desperately awaiting the next book in the series
