USA TODAY Bestselling Author Brandt Legg uses his unusual real life experiences to create page-turning novels. He’s traveled with CIA agents, dined with senators and congressmen, mingled with astronauts, chatted with governors and presidential candidates, had a private conversation with a Secretary of Defense he still doesn’t like to talk about, hung out with Oscar and Grammy winners, had drinks at the State Department, been pursued by tabloid reporters, and spent a birthday at the White House by invitation from the President of the United States.
At age eight, Legg's father died suddenly, plunging his family into poverty. Two years later, while suffering from crippling migraines, he started in business, and turned a hobby into a multi-million-dollar empire. National media dubbed him the “Teen Tycoon,” and by the mid-eighties, Legg was one of the top young entrepreneurs in America, appearing as high as number twenty-four on the list (when Steve Jobs was #1, Bill Gates #4, and Michael Dell #6). Legg still jokes that he should have gone into computers.
By his twenties, after years of buying and selling businesses, leveraging, and risk-taking, the high-flying Legg became ensnarled in the financial whirlwind of the junk bond eighties. The stock market crashed and a firestorm of trouble came down. The Teen Tycoon racked up more than a million dollars in legal fees, was betrayed by those closest to him, lost his entire fortune, and ended up serving time for financial improprieties.
After a year, Legg emerged from federal prison, chastened and wiser, and began anew. More than twenty-five years later, he’s now using all that hard-earned firsthand knowledge of conspiracies, corruption and high finance to weave his tales. Legg’s books pulse with authenticity.
His series have excited nearly a million readers around the world. Although he refused an offer to make a television movie about his life as a teenage millionaire, his autobiography is in the works. There has also been interest from Hollywood to turn his thrillers into films. With any luck, one day you’ll see your favorite characters on screen.

It's great to see the story hasn't ended and another is still to come. Brandt Legg has a way of closing series in a satisfying manner-which is why I own them all
One of the reasons Oregon author Brandt Legg has been so successful in his writing and publishing and selling his twenty-five books to date is his magisterial management of his website. From his biographical data we learn that he is ‘a former child prodigy who turned a hobby into a multi-million dollar empire. At eight, Brandt's father died suddenly, plunging his family into poverty. Two years later, while suffering from crippling migraines, he started in business. National media dubbed him the ‘Teen Tycoon,’ but by the time he reached his twenties, the high-flying Legg became ensnarled in the financial whirlwind of the junk bond eighties, lost his entire fortune . . . and ended up serving time in federal prison for financial improprieties.’ Or as Brandt shares, ‘Twenty-five years ago, sitting in a hot, humid federal prison cell in Virginia, I first dreamed of being not just a writer, but a writer who could earn a living, support a family and keep writing. But I had dropped out of high school, having only completed tenth grade English. As I sat on that metal cot, penniless and heavily in debt, with almost a year left on my sentence, it seemed an impossible dream. Still, for more than two decades, while doing everything but writing, I somehow kept the dream alive. Amazon's KDP changed everything.’ One year later he began anew in retail and real estate. In the more than two decades since, his life adventures have led him through magazine publishing, a newspaper column, photography, FM radio, CD production and concert promotion. He is a gifted landscape photographer. THE COSEGA SEQUENCE series, of which COSEGA SWITCH is Book 8, was started in 2014.
One of the reasons Brandt’s sci-fi thrillers/suspense novels work so well is his ability to subtly let us in on the atmosphere from the first lines – ‘The Switch gleamed gold, its slender toggle handle, nearly a foot long, bathed in swirling photons, giving it the appearance of the mystical sword in the stone, glowing in an eerie, fantastical mist. The shimmering light around the Switch constantly shifted from violet to amethyst, azure to cobalt blue, with frequent electric pulses of yellow and green, as if one should be afraid to touch it, to even be near it.’ Quite artistically, our imagination is captured!
Brandt offers a peak at the plot - ‘The Doom is upon us. Time evaporated. Humanity lost. One desperate chance remains. Alignment across the immense chasm of existence down to a single breath. Time is a funny thing, hit the switch.’ And there is another episode in the series yet to come! Book 8 is a complete winner.
The Cosega series has been an amazing development of plot and characters and continues that with Switch. Characters makes sacrifices and face difficult decisions and situations that test their loyalty, morals, humanity, and resolve. Would you sacrifice 100,000 lives to save a million? Sacrifice yourself to keep your word? These are the kinds of thoughts that I contemplated while reading and often long into the night after I had put the story down for the night. Brandt is an excellent writer and his story is solid, action is thrilling and gripping, characters strong and compelling, plot well done and yet at times with surprising twists. Once again doing and excellent job of building your interest and excitement and then delivering the turning points and heights at just the right moment. This certainly feels like the penultimate book in the series...........who knows (but Brandt of course, and hey Brandt feel free to let me know! LOL, me and a few thousand others are very interested) but it fits and I find that I am glad there will be one more to wrap up and finish. Or maybe one more to ride the crescendo down and then reignite it in another way.
Brandt Legg has written series in that are labeled as Thriller, Science Fiction, Suspense. Series that are futuristic, historical, and current. All these seem to be a world of their own and poke at your imagination and make you think. But he is even more of a master than that at building his own world, his own universe, the Leggverse as I will call it. I cannot urge you enough to read them all. Every series, every book. To watch and feel every character grow and develop. And to have your mind, imagination, and perception open to the world being built. What a tremendous and splendid work it is, did it all just start from a small idea? Or has there been a bigger plan all along that is being realized. It is fun to watch someone who entered the career as an author late and then shows such rapid growth and scope. I look forward to reading every book, every word, for a long time to come.
A book far more than just for adventure lovers. A story that seeps into your conscious and forced you to believe and even question your reality. Shedding tears as l ready for the last installment of what truly is an epic tale, l choose to believe and hope for a better future. The characters in these books will remain with me and become a bench mark for many others l encounter.
Wow! And I thought this story could not get more exciting - what a book, what with so many side stories happening at the same time. Mind boggling to think how an author can come up with so many scenarios - well done!
4.5 stars. Digital book. Was kinda bummed we lost a lot of the action after the first 3 books but this one brought us right back to it. Absolutely buzzing for the final book and to put Cosega to rest. Would like to speak to the author about how many “elite special ops” people he thinks exist in the world because we’ve lost A LOT and somehow are still fully staffed.
