The unbelievable match between Blue Lock and Japan's U-20 team has astonished the audience as the players continue to exceed their own limits. As the rivalry between the Itoshi brothers grows ever deeper, Isagi, Nagi, Bachira, and the rest of the team continue to go after their own goals. Will Jinpachi Ego's dreams and obsessions destroy Japanese soccer? And who will be the one to score the winning goal...?! The battle between Blue Lock and the U-20 team reaches its thrilling conclusion!!
2nd read went through too many ups and downs with this volume ohhh i'm way too invested in the itoshi brothers and also isagi and i just love this so so fucking much
1st read literally what the flying fuck. i have never felt this rush of adrenaline and serotonin as much as finishing this arc before. this manga series has skyrocketed to be one of my favorite piece of media, like EVER.
(1) To be honest I don't remember who is who in the story...I can recognize some key characters...but the rest just slip my mind...
(2) The climax is pretty good, and Blue Lock Phase 1 ends! YAHOOO!
(3) Although the artwork is awesome, but manga being a no-motion media, I can't really relate myself to the actions on the football field...nor do I understand fully what is going on in the field.
(4) I think I might still read the rest of the series...
I will lead Japan to victory in the U-20 World Cup
I was wrong. I thought Japan was unable to ever give birth to any decent strikers. He even managed to call forth your instincts. The one who's able to change this country's football is X... An egoist like that might have what it takes. Japan can still change (este panel 😭)
this is definitely becoming one of my favourite manga/anime. i've had my fair share of encounters with sports animangas, but this comes on top sorry haikyuu, you're still my comfort anime, just not my fave anymore the complexities of the story where characters are not relying on the power of friendships and competing with eachother to get the best version of themselves are so good. here there's none of that naivety that if they have friends and ppl to support them, they can win. everything relies on the capacity the characters have to adapt and improve and i just find that fascinating.
tense, beautiful, entertaining, and genuinely funny. i love isagi, but kaneshiro should’ve given him more screen time if he wanted me to believe he was the main star of this match.
also. sae is a cruel bitch as always (still love him, evil and pretty princess). i genuinely don’t understand how he can be clueless about what’s wrong with his relationship with rin. maybe take a second to think about what slips out every time you open your mouth when you talk to him?? just saying.
this was, for sure, one of the best blue lock volumes so far. everything that happened had me on edge. needless to say i was eagerly waiting to see the results of the match. and also, the very end of the volume had me going grazy. i was waiting to see more about that! now i definitely can't wait for more. i'm so excited!!!
11/07/24 reread: rin's flow arc is trulyyy hideously great (sae and rin juxtapositions were extra beautiful too) + i will always love how luck was discussed here– a coincidence, a culmination, an object to be called down.
I was wondering when *spoiler redacted* was going to make another appearance... They look like they've spent some time in the room of dread and anticipation...
theyre nerfing rin so mid is@gi could be the best like be fucking fr :/ he only scored the last goal, which btw, wouldnt be even possible without rin. is@gi still cant do anything without other ppl lmao. and the point of blue lock is them learning to play by themselves NOT teamwork. i fucking hate how they hyped rin only to make him not score that goal
