A Woman is Missing. The Clock is Ticking.

Miguel

We found the woman's car.

I'm good at finding what I look for, usually clues or criminals. I'm not used to finding things when I don't look for them.

Then I met Sam.

What was I looking for again?

Sam

I grew up on a ranch where it was easy to make furry friends as long as I had food in my hand.

When I moved to Nashville, I learned men are a totally different animal.

I'm good in the sack . . . or up against a wall . . . or on a kitchen table. But dating is exhausting.

Then a cop in a tight uniform drove onto my lot, and everything changed.

Wrenched is a classic MM Romance wrapped in a whodunnit thriller, a tale of self-discovery, overcoming the past, and two men learning what - and who - they truly want.

This story includes scenes where one character grapples with PTSD, while another discovers how best to support him.

Wrenched is book two in the Nashville Spicy series by Casey Morales. I discovered this author just recently and this is my third book of his. I enjoy his writing so much. This is a sweet romance with a touch of mystery and a real life lesson as to the stress of a police officer’s life.

Sam Prescott owns his own auto mechanic shop in Nashville. He works hard and has a regular hook up he can call when he wants to. But has never really dated. Then the sexy police officer walked into his shop and he was instantly smitten.

Officer Miguel Nunez is a cop in Nashville. He and his partner are sent to investigate a missing woman whom they later discover has been murdered. Now they are tasked with trying to figure out what happened to her. When they take her car into a local mechanic’s shop to rent one of the bays to check over the car, he sees the owner. From that moment on, he’s just about the only thing Miguel has eyes for.

As Miguel and his partner work the case, he and Sam get to know each other better. I loved seeing Miguel let down his guard and allow Sam to see something no one else had. The way his job affects him. It deeply touched me at the way Miguel struggled. These two were clearly meant for each other and I adored watching them become closer.

This is a sweet, moderately spicy romance that I enjoyed so much. Sam’s co-worker/friend, Tyler, was a hoot and he will be featured in the next book, I Hear You. I can’t wait to read it.

Well, I Don’t Know How He Keeps Doing It… 🤩🤩🤩‼️

I stumbled upon Casey Morales, because his first novel, “My Accidental First Date” was free on Amazon, so I downloaded it and basically forgot about it, with the thousands of 📚 I kept accumulating (literally). When I realized the first 📕 was part of a series, “Raised By Wolves” (you have to 📖 the first book to catch the irony of the title; these are 🚫 “shifter” 📚), I added the rest to my Kindle Wishlist in the hope of picking them up if and when they went on sale.
When the next in the series, “My Next Date” went on sale for $ .99, I downloaded it as well, entitling me to a free copy of the audiobook of the first 📕, “My Accidental First Date”. Though I was thoroughly engrossed in another 📕, I decided to 🎧 to the audiobook while taking care of things around the 🏡.
Please understand that in no way is this meant disparagingly, but based on the titles of the 📚, the series name and each successive releases titles and cover art, I was expecting “trite filler and fluff”. These 📚 are absolutely nothing like that. Instead, they are deep, candid, emotionally challenging, snarky and completely captivating.
So when the ✍️ released another 📕, separate from the original series, I snatched it up, read it ahead of the other 5K 📚 already in the queue and once again was head over heels in love. “Winning His Vote” was far less autobiographical than “Raised By Wolves”, but was still ripe with the same snarky, caustic humor, off the charts, ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥 M/M sex, beautiful “rom com” contemporary relationships, well-rounded MCs and their supporting cast of family, coworkers and friends.
Utilizing his gift, for latching on to a scene or character from one 📕 and developing it in to much, much more, “Winning His Vote”, morphed in to a separate, standalone entry from the same Nashville universe, entitled, “Wrenched”, bringing forth Sam, a mechanic, that Joe (the protagonist in “Winning His Vote”), had been having a recreational sexual relationship with during that first installment.
Sam has been cast aside, because of Joe’s HEA, when circumstances deposit a hunky policeman, Miguel, in his auto repair business, needing to have a vehicle inspected that may have been involved in a police matter.
Naturally sparks fly, a missing woman becomes a murder case with a suspicious husband, while other characters are gradually introduced, further expanding this “Nashville” universe (now called “Nashville Spicy”… 🤔⁉️).
Like the first series and what is now the first installment in the “Nashville Spicy” series, “Winning His Vote”, the author has expanded his wonderful M/M ❤️‍🔥 brand and added in a “police procedural”, more of talent for adding witty humor, incredibly 🔥 ❤️‍🔥, challenging, grownup relationships, including their struggles and blessings, all the while, telling stories that just fly off of the pages, impossible to put down, but never wanting them to end. Having read ALL (6) of his books, prior to “Wrenched”, I knew that I would love it, but even so, I ended up with so much more than I expected. His characters stay with you, long after their tales have been told, waiting for their next opportunity to become part of the reader’s 🌎.
Casey Morales, once again, job well done. Please get a deal with Netflix to turn ALL of your novels in to series. They would be perfect and introduce your work and your wonderful characters to many, many more readers…‼️

P.S. - It’s late ⏰ and I’m not proofreading this 🤦‍♂️

4.5 stars. I could really feel the chemistry between the main characters. They were also really allowed to be vulnerable and come to terms with not having to be strong all the time, especially cop Miguel. Sam's suggestion helping to solve the murder was a nice touch. Annie is absolutely brilliant. Really enjoyable book.

DNF @ 85%

The start was ok? Miguel came on a bit stronger than I expected for an MC, very openly checking out and flirting with Sam the very first time they saw each other.

A tiny bit of cop-aganda here with Miguel lamenting the bad rap police officers are being painted with (which is a whole can of worms that I will not be getting into, but should be noted)

Honestly, the story felt very disjointed. The lady's disappearance barely had any connection to the romance other than Miguel was the cop assigned to it at first and Sam's garage was the place they stored her car (which was then moved to a police garage). The fact that Sam had literally nothing to do with the case and how it had nearly zero bearing on the relationship made that part of the story feel like filler. The investigation should've been used in some way to have Miguel and Sam connect more (an implication made early on with Sam wondering if Miguel's job was taking a toll on him), but since that doesn't happen, it's just boring (the PTSD thing was a step in the right direction, but it wasn't given enough focus). You could literally take out all the crime subplot chapters and still end up with the same romance. That's how disconnected the story felt.

Fading to black Miguel and Sam's first sex scene was a very odd decision considering how Miguel emphasized that he didn't want to ruin things by going too fast. I feel like we should've seen his POV about it, either realizing that having sex with Sam either was or wasn't going to impact how their relationship was going to progress. It was super super weird that we get Sam telling his friend about how hard they went at it the next day. Idk why the author wanted to use Sam and Miguel's first time together as a way to define Sam and Ty's friendship (aka being comfortable enough to retell sexual escapades with each other) but if anything, that conversation could've been summarized or implied instead.

I'm not a fan of how the author decided that oral sex somehow was not as meaningful as anal sex. Miguel saying "we didn't have sex, I just gave him a BJ" while still parroting the "I'm not going to have sex with Sam because I don't want to ruin things" was incredibly dumb and arbitrary. That's like saying "I'm going to eat more fruits" and having guacamole because "avocado is a fruit". Miguel somehow implying that anal sex would impact their relationship in ways that oral wouldn't didn't make sense because what is the difference other than which hole their dicks went in?

I DNFed at 85% after skimming to see if any tension or semblance of conflict would show itself, but there wasn't. Sam and Miguel never had to work hard for their romance, (having real sex, not just BJs which definitely don't count 🙄).

2 stars.

MM romance and crime/mystery are my top two genres, so I really wanted this to hit the mark and it just didn’t.

First of all, these characters are mirrors of the characters in the first book. Sam/Joe get all swoony and jumpy and unable to talk around Miguel/David, who have a smile that lights the room and a ripped bod (but is also an asshole, and has some tough trauma history relating to military or police service). And Sam/Joe have a bestie, Tyler/Pete, who is also gay and a little inappropriate and nosy. And Miguel/David’s coworker Donna/Saul is a hardass.

The mystery component missed for me. It took them several chapters to realize that the missing person’s keys were in their purse… that they saw in the home the first day. Really??? You wouldn’t have looked in the purse as soon as you found it? And then there is no movement for a huge chunk of the book, and I completely lost interest.

There were also a few things that bothered me. Miguel showed up to their first date on a Harley, but then they left the date in his police cruiser (which… why would you be driving that in plainclothes off work?). And the language used is a little juvenile. Miguel touches Sam and he thinks “I almost piddled at his touch.” 🤦🏻‍♀️

Easy like a gentle romance

There was something so easy about the way these characters fell for each other. It was in the way they willingly gave themselves over to the feelings they had, were upfront about the challenges they faced in their lives but also were so keen to make the relationship work.

I really enjoyed this one. It was a quick and light read and I felt refreshed after it. The cast of characters was a blast, with Annie the firecracker being my fave and someone I hope to hear more from.

While there was a murder mystery in the story it wasn’t a whodunnit more a procedural and I thought that was actually quite different because a lot of the time authors keep you guessing until the last minute.

All in all I found this a delight. What a lovely start to the series!

Wrenched is the follow up story for Sam, a character from ‘Winning His Vote’, ie. Joe’s friend with benefits. Sam has got the story he deserved. He meets Miguel, a policeman working on a missing person case and sparks start to fly between them after some tentative moves.

Miguel is one hot guy with a sensitive heart and some work related problems to get a handle on. The two guys find what has been missing from their lives in each other’s arms.

There is a lot of fun to be had here with the interaction of all the great characters that fill the pages. It is not all fun to be sure with a difficult case to be solved and Sam trying to get his head around the idea that Miguel might just be his. There are some heart breaking moments as Miguel opens up to Sam and as Sam steps up to support him.

A great read from an author who understands people.

The plot in this book feels more natural for the author than the first in the series. The murder weapon twist was clever, but I'm not convinced it was unique. Sadly, the dialogue is still stilted and gratuitously snarky. The attempt at adding humor makes all the characters sound/feel the same. Their personality traits and past issues come across as perfunctory. My attention waned. I had it on while snoozing on the bus. Audio quality was slightly better, but the narration is still not great. I gave the books a go because Joel Leslie was mentioned, but where is he?

This was good but one thing that really annoyed me and I really don't get is the continuity error with Sam and Joe?

In the first book, Sam and Joe agree to go on a date via a phone call, they go on the date, they have sex, and then they "break up". But in this one, they have sex, agree to the date in person afterwards, but also have the conversation about not taking the "relationship" to the next level at that time, before even going on the date, which completely contradicts "Winning His Vote"? I don't understand why Morales would change that? Anyways, that just really irked me.

Genuinely romantic

and sexy. Well written—hot characters, believable plot, sex scenes that don’t go on forever (one of my pet peeves about this genre).

'Wrenched' (Nashville Spicy #2, or #1, depending on how it's counted between two interconnected series) written by Casey Morales, (Audible) narrated by Dan Levy

Topics: suspenseful murder investigation, police procedural, PTSD, gay love story, insightful psychologically.

A complex storyline featuring a garage mechanic and a cop. I won't bore you-all with reiterating all the descriptions in the ad-blurb and other reviews.(you're welcome)

That said, I DO want to mention how much I enjoyed this storyline, especially the developing relationship between Sam & Miguel. Having to somehow deal with all the emotional fallout Miguel was experiencing, including nightmares and other PTSD/trauma, relating to all the awful and gruesome things his job as a cop exposed him to was an integral part of this storyline, and Morales handled such a sensitive subject very well.

Good murder mystery! Even though it was obvious who the killer was, the suspense lay in if the cops could find the murder weapon and other evidence, so they could nail this guy to the wall...forever!

I liked both MCs and can't wait to read more about their lives, and their friends, too! Especially liked intelligent and feisty Donna!

Miguel and Sam were good for each other, sometimes being silly, sometimes serious, and the sex between them was, "Ye gods & little fishes!"...socks-out-the-window fabulous!

(cough; need a moment here...)

They listened to each other, too, about everything, which is a very good thing!

(laughing) Question?
How can these guys even move a friggin' muscle, much less having hours of smouldering hot monkey sex, after eating SO MUCH food? A couple of plates full by last account, in addition to drinking several beers, each! I'd think they'd be too food-induced comatose to wiggle their little fingers...not to mention other body parts. Just sayin'... ;-)

Morales is fast becoming another favorite author of mine whose books I look forward to reading, and listening to on Audible; I like that added auditory dimension as it makes whatever books I'm exploring seem more real.
Will the next advancement be: being able to add a Playlist of our own creation? That would be so cool!

Two thumbs up! 👍👍

I love this author. I think I've said it since I read his first book, in that kind of autobiography, that I feel his writing style is different, more... fresh maybe? Or lighter, I don't know, it's hard to determine, but he touches on topics that are difficult to talk about and yet he manages to give them a touch of humor, lightens them a bit and takes away the heaviness, the anguish that is sometimes very heavy to digest. .

In this case, we have Sam, who we met on Winning His Vote as Joe's friend with benefits, one of the MCs in that book. Sam is a joy to read. Despite not having luck in love, and believing that he is not destined to have it in his life, he maintains a positive attitude, and although he works more than he should, he enjoys his work. .

And then we have Miguel, our sexy and smiling police officer. Although his dream was to play baseball, he leaves his career behind to continue the family tradition. He suffers the consequences of his work but keeps it quiet until Sam finds out and offers his support, giving him the courage to seek help.

From the moment they meet, due to a police case Miguel is working on, sparks fly between them, and Miguel doesn't hesitate to let Sam know that he feels attracted to him.

I like that from the beginning they both maintain an honest relationship, and despite the doubts that both have due to their previous failures, they manage to communicate. It's a rapidly developing relationship, but no less significant for that, and it's accompanied by a good police case, perhaps a bit predictable but well developed.

I also like the secondary characters, both Tyler and Donna, they so different but they bring fun and freshness to the story, and also a great support for the two main characters.

Overall, another great, great story from Casey Morales.

I was given an advanced copy and voluntarily wrote a review.

ARC READER REVIEW

Wrenched by Casey Morales is a super sweet, and a bit spicy M/M romance between a cop and a mechanic who meet in the middle of a missing persons case.

While this story takes place along side a criminal investigation, the missing persons case is NOT the primary story. Miguel is an officer working the case, Sam is only involved in the case in a minor way when they meet. I had to adjust my thinking when I realized this story was about Miguel and Sam, Sam and his business partner Tyler, and Miguel and his partner Donna.

This story is about relationships, and how they can help us move on from hurts and fears and trauma. Each relationship in this novel is important, and helps drive this beautiful story.

The love story that unfolds between Sam and Miguel is just beautiful. Neither men have been in a serious relationship, and both of them fall hard and fast for each other. The journey Casey Morales takes us on when these two men fall is full of witty banter, well written spicy scenes, and emotional vulnerability.

I laughed through their first date and all the awkwardness. Miguel’s emotional vulnerability comes through in Morales’ writing. We also get insight into Sam’s thought process about being the boyfriend of a cop, and what they entails. It wasn’t easy and it was a conscious choice.

Sam is such a sweet guy and I loved his relationship with his business partner Tyler. It was open and honest, and the post dinner date explanation of what went down at Sam’s was incredible.

Miguel’s relationship with his work partner Donna was also well written and emotionally vulnerable. It shows us a side of police work that isn’t well known.

The heat between Sam and Miguel was just delicious to read. I found myself laughing out loud several times during Miguel and Sam’s first date.

I truly loved reading this book. I realized halfway through it’s a part two, so I’m going to go back and read the first one!! I highly recommend this book.

A terrific whodunit thriller stage for a great romance

Florida author Casey Morales continues his excellent series Nashville Spicy that manages to mix such themes as political undercurrents and thrillers with his usual MM romance skills. Book 2 - WRENCHED - displays his gift for complex characterizations that underscore the challenges and advantages of partnering. The tenor is set as the novel opens, with Miguel speaking: ‘Donna and I didn’t normally sit around the station with noting to do. But for some reason, this morning had been pleasantly free of murder or other violent crimes. That made the coffee taste just a little bit better. Then Sergeant Brant barked form his office doorway: “Nunez, Frazier, my office, now.’” Attention alerted and the novel unfolds: ‘A woman is missing. The clock is ticking. There's no time to lose when a life hangs in the balance. Miguel - We found her car. I'm good at finding things, mostly clues and criminals. I’m not used to finding things when I don’t look for them. Then I met Sam. What was I looking for again? Sam - I grew up on a ranch. It was easy to win over furry friends as long as I had food in my hand. When I moved to Nashville, I leaned men are a totally different animal. I’m good in the sack . . . or up against a wall . . . or on the kitchen table, But dating is exhausting. When a cop in a tight uniform drove onto my lot, everything changed.’

The fusion of thriller and erotica sends a new signal that this series is a satisfying winner. Highly recommended.

FIRST DATES AND MURDER MYSTERIES!

This is the second book of the series and my second book by this author and won’t be the last!

We get Sam’s story from the previous book and a different side to the dominant mechanic…

I did not care for Joe the FWB by the way he treated Sam but as the story progressed I realised why that plot line was used…

Miquel “Smiley” is a unique character with different components that we see as him and Sam start their dates and sleep overs…

I love their banter and flirting and how both characters are versatile both in character and sexuality!

Their chemistry was off the charts right from their first meeting…

“Holy shit. Did this cop just eye-fuck me? My heart was suddenly racing like a teenage girl being asked to slow skate.”

The mystery revolving around a missing woman adds more intrigue to the story with a did he or didn’t he plot line…

The PTSD that most police officers experience with gruesome crime scenes observed was well executed.

I loved how sweet and patient Sam was with Miquel’s trauma and how he comforted him!

The side characters were absolutely amazing with Tyler, Donna and Annie adding more fun to the story!

I look forward to the next book of the series!

Wrenched (Nashville Spicy 1)
By Casey Morales
3Aussies Press, 2023
Four stars

I’m glad I carried on with this series from Casey Morales. This installment in the series (numbered 1 but actually book 2) is a detective story. Miguel Nunez is a big, strong policeman, known for his constant smile. His partner is a diminutive powerhouse named Donna Frazier. They make a great team, and are working together on a missing person investigation that ends badly.

Sam Prescott is the owner of a car repair shop in Nashville. The missing person’s car from Miguel’s new case is mistakenly towed to Sam’s garage. Sam, having recently been ghosted by a long-time companion, is instantly taken with the scary big cop who smiles all the time.

Two lonely young men, one haunted by terrible nightmares, begin their pas de deux. Casey Morales handles the dance nicely, letting us get to know both Sam and Miguel as the mystery plays out around them. It turns out the police story is secondary to the romance, but serves as an insight into Miguel’s character.

Morales is a fine writer and his books engage the reader and trigger all the right emotional responses. Sam’s assistant mechanic, Tyler, turns out to be the link to the next book.

I have loved every book that Casey Morales has written, and Wrenched was no exception. This was such a sweet romance with a side of mystery thrown in.

Sam the mechanic, who had a three year friends with benefits relationship with Joe (from Winning His Vote), is just getting used to being completely single when he meets Miguel, a sexy always smiling cop during a murder investigation.

Sam thought he had a good relationship with Joe, but after a few dates with Miguel, he realizes how much he was missing. Sam and Miguel connect right away, and I enjoyed seeing Sam thrown off his game during his first date with Miguel. There is very little relationship angst as the two men fall hard for each other.

Miguel, at first seems to always be happy, but there is a depth to his character that develops throughout the story. I appreciated how much Sam and Miguel's partner Donna supported Miguel when he needed them. Tyler and Annie made me laugh out loud several times and along with Donna were wonderful side characters.

I am looking forward to Tyler's story next!

Great series.

This book follows Sam, we met him in the last book as Joe’s long term hook up, I was intrigued by Sam in that book, so I was really pleased to read his story. You could most definitely read this as a stand-alone if you wanted to, although the last book is good, this one is even better.

Sam and Miguel are both amazing characters, and together they are even more so. Them meeting and their first dates were written so well, I loved Sam, who appeared so sure of himself in the previous book being all nervous and tongue tied, I could feel those first date nerves reading it. Their banter together was really good, the book had a lot of serious moments, but a lot of funny moments as well, I smiled a lot while reading this book.

The murder was a great addition to the book, although it was pretty obvious who’d done it. The supporting characters in this book were really good also, I’m looking forward to reading Tyler’s story in the next book.

I’m really enjoying reading Casey Morales books so far, they create amazing characters through wonderful writing, I definitely recommend.

This is the second book in the Nashville Spicy series. It can be read as a standalone; but book 1 was a pretty good read. There is an overlap of characters and a brief overlap in the storyline from book 1 which helps set the story up. This book was well written, it flowed and was easy to read. I loved the characters they were both fun and flirty. The murder storyline runs throughout the whole book amd gives great narrative and a bit of mystery. The sex was hot and steamy; lots of pinning against walls which heightened the spice rating. I would have liked longer sex scenes with a bit more detail and to read the crescendo, we were given the start, but then it would skip to them catching their breath and cuddling. There is more depth to the MC's than first meets the eye which keeps the story interesting. I loved the secondary characters and would love Ty to get a story. The ending is happy, albeit rather abrupt, but the MC's relationship is still early days so we can only expect a HFN. I enjoyed the author's first book in the Nashville series and was looking forward to the second. This one was also enjoyable but did not work as well for me as the first book.

The book felt underwritten. While Miguel is decently developed and has the only real angst in the book, the other MC, Sam is less developed--it's hard to care about him when he seems bland. The potentially interesting secondary characters also needed more development--particularly Donna, Annie, and Tyler (probably an MC in a future book). The identity of the murderer is obvious from the start so that plot lacks tension. The relationship between Sam and Miguel develops quickly and without much tension as well--it is not specific enough. While the author here has a good premise, I think the book reads like a draft that needs a bit more thought. I am still looking forward though to the third book in this series.

My decision to give this book (very reluctant) four stars was based solely on good writing style, likable and colorful characters and banter that brought a smile on my face. I can't give up much without major spoilers but I'll say that there were problems with continuity, some time frames and definitely with police procedure.
Let me give you just a few examples. The police is not obligated to wait 24 hours to start an investigation on a missing person report - it's an urban myth which many authors are parroting without doing some research. Miguel arrives on a date on Harley and the next minute Sam sits in his police cruiser. By the way - since when are patrol cops in Nashville allowed to use the police cruisers in their free time to take their dates to a ball game?
And my pet peeve - we never get to know what Sam looks like.
There's much more, but I'll stop here. This could easily be a 5 star read with some more research and maybe if some more eyes were put on it prior publishing. Despite the really good writing I doubt I'll be coming back.

Miguel is a cop and Sam is a mechanic. When working on a missing person case, Miguel and his partner bring the victim’s vehicle to Sam’s auto shop and sparks fly when Miguel’s flirty nature and Sam’s attraction to said nature coincide. Miguel and Sam begin to date and they realize not only do they both want something more, but that they feel that connection for that something special and real.

I loved this book. It was so beautifully written and even though there was a crime that cut into their romance, it was not detracting, and it showed one of the stresses that Miguel has to deal with on a daily basis as well as how beautiful and lovingly Sam supports him when that stress becomes too much to keep it bottled up. The MC’s had a great meet-cute and instant connection. They made a sweet couple and I just could not get enough of them. Their relationship seemed genuine and loving and they had amazing chemistry. Definitely worth the read.

I received an ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Officer Miguel Nuñez is known as Smiley by the rest of the Force, but the missing person / murder case he’s working on isn’t giving him much to smile about. That is until he meets mechanic Sam Prescott who is garaging the victim’s car. The attraction between the two men is instantaneous and before long the two men are having the best sex of their lives. Meanwhile, Miguel and his police partner are pretty sure who the murderer is, but proving it is tricky.

I absolutely loved this sweet and steamy police procedural / romance, Miguel and Sam were both such great guys and I liked how they wooed each other with dates and dinners. I also loved how each of them had a best friend who teased them mercilessly, the banter was great! The murder investigation played second fiddle to the romance but it still got the attention it deserved—I liked the balance of the two plot lines. I’m really enjoying this series and can’t wait to get stuck into the rest. 🎧 Dan Levy has the perfect deep voice for these high-testosterone men, he gave a great performance here!

Good mix of heated romance with a murder investigation🔍

This MM romance, with buff guys (a mechanic and a policeman), had a nice balance of attraction and chemistry, dating, peppy secondary characters, a smidgen of angst and a perplexing murder case.

Garage owner Sam is a pretty happy guy with a sidekick who's constantly ribbing him at the garage and a no-emotion hook-up buddy on call until a tall cop who can't stop smiling turns up and sets him on a new course. Baseball-loving Miguel had a bit more depth because he's dealing with job-related PTSD and he has some issues about his family's influence in setting him on his career path.

Easy read with some steam but it did not overwhelm the other elements. My favorite secondary characters, Tyler and Annie, added a bit of wit and snark that appealed to me.

Would I read more by this author? Yes, definitely.

I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest opinion.

Glad Sam got his happy ever after

I loved Winning His Vote and I liked Sam in it, and it was good to see Joe here too. But Sam needed his own HEA once Joe found his and Casey certainly delivers that.
In his newsletter, Casey ran a photo poll to choose his Miguel and I can tell you that the one chosen was a very smiley policeman. I am also happy to report that Miguel on the page is the smiliest policeman ever!
Instant attraction between two men who never or rarely date, you can see the spark between them, and once they get together, the result is never in doubt.
Sam and his employee best friend Tyler were a scream, Tyler's banter never less than sniping and poking at Sam to hilarious results, while Miguel and his partner, Donna, had a completely different dynamic at work. I loved both partnerships as we got to see a different side to each man.
A great story with really good characters, I loved Tyler, Donna and of course, Annie. I'm looking forward to Tyler's book next.

Starting with book 2 I thought I wouldn't miss anything from the previous book, I was wrong although you can read book 2 by itself I think reading the previous book will give you more of the setup of this series, along with getting to know more about the main character and the secondary characters.

These characters show that you can be strong and vulnerable at the same time and communication is the key to everything, whether it be in your home or work relations.

The chemistry between Sam and Miguel was palpable from the get go, although they had their share of fears because of past hurts/relationships, they made it work for them.

This is a very well thought out book, each chapter flowed well giving us the readers a book we enjoyed reading.

I think this is the first book I've read from this author, and from what I've read I will be hunting for his other books and of course book 1 of this series will be my next read.

"Wrenched" is the second book in Casey Morales' Nashville Spicy series. Because I read the first one, I recognized the parallel timeline with "Winning his Vote," in which Sam is in a friends-with-benefits relationship with the main character Joe.

Sam and Miguel meet while Miguel is looking for a missing person. Miguel's partner Donna and Sam's best friend Tyler notice an instant spark between the two. The missing person becomes a murder investigation as the love story progresses.

Overall, I enjoyed reading Sam and Miguel's story. This rom-com will have you laughing and rooting for the characters to get their happily ever after!

I can't wait to read Tyler's story, and I hope to see Sam and Miguel again

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
