their brother's baby. The brother who deserted them and their pack two years ago.

When I ended up on Desolation Island, running from the pack that hunts me, I could never have imagined the three brothers I meet are the three brothers my mate left behind. years ago. Maverick - destined to be pack alpha since my mate abandoned his destiny, Lucas, the dark and violent, but with such sadness in his eyes, and Asher, the sweetest, most caring man I have ever met, hurt beyond belief by Jaxon's betrayal. They resent Jaxon for leaving, and they cannot find out I carry his child, or that I am the wolf the High Rocks pack are hunting for. Or my ultimate weakness - that I can't shift. I've heard the stories - the Sea Wolves, do not tolerate weakness.

The problem? My wolf marked the alpha with her mate mark, meaning I cannot leave his side until it fades in a month's time. I'm stuck here. At least it gives me time to search for the fabled Spanish gold my mate was so convinced is hidden here on the island. If I found that gold, even a little could solve all my problems and let me and my baby have a new start, safe from my pack and far away. That was the plan.

Falling in love wasn't.

This is a full-length reverse harem romance novel, full of sexy alpha males, a strong heroine, and steamy scenes. Triggers include SA, both on screen and off; pregnancy; PTSD; and violence.

It's gonna be a no for me

I get that the author wanted to show us how the fmc was treated in her pack growing up but the serial raping of a teenager is way too triggering for me. (Even if it happened in her past, it's still described a bit too much for my taste)
I might have been able to skim it and keep going but then she finds one of her fated mates and he practically forces himself on her which was again way too much dubcon for me. I get that the mate mark makes them respond sexually but when she says no and he keeps going saying she obviously likes it because she's wet...that was my cue to get the f out.

I mostly enjoyed this book. Unfortunately the main trope is lack of communication. There really isn't a good reason for her not to tell the brothers.
Unfortunately, I didn't realize this is the first book of a series, so things are left hanging. I probably won't read the next one.

A strangely compelling narrative about an abused, widowed FMC who falls deeper and deeper into trouble after making stupid decision after stupid decision.

I forgave her for a good deal of it because honestly, she wasn't weak, really - she was a survivor and her trauma felt real despite the irritating omega betraying body syndrome throughout the story - but I did start to feel that she was generally quite brainless.

Literally all of the tension/drama/conflict could have been resolved easily by the FMC if she'd just told the truth. Her caution and self preservation was fine at first, but by the end, it seemed like she was lying because she was too stupid to think of anything else to do.

And boy did she love to lie, even when it made no sense, even when it would have been smarter to come clean and beg for mercy (I mean, come on, if the 3 men were kind to her when she's just a stranger surely they'd be nicer to their brother's vulnerable pregnant widow!)

Mating her men without telling them that their brother was dead and that she was his pregnant widow was an insane breach of trust. Maverick legit said he loved her and she still lied straight to his face!

Worse though, was how she treated Asher, the youngest, sweetest brother. The one who apparently reminded her of her dead mate. She was actually quite cruel to him, almost like she relished the fact he was into her and she had the power in their relationship. Most of my sympathy for her dried up after how she dealt with him.

Lastly, I disliked how her pregnancy was treated as an afterthought. She hardly thought about her baby unless her life was threatened or when she was feeling guilty for having so much sex. It was bizarre.

So yeah, 3 stars for getting me invested enough to read the whole thing but sadly, I don't like the main character enough to continue.

interesting but maybe not for me

I went into this expecting a sweet omega verse book, but it was not as sweet as I would've hoped. I also feel as though I am not supposed to care for the main female character. I liked the set up of the book, and I certainly did enjoy a lot of the characters. Hopefully in book 2, there will be chances to really get to see nova shine. She doesn't really get to do so in this book.

If you like omega verse books in general, though, you would probably really enjoy this one.

DNF at 55%… I think I could have pushed through.. but, I just don’t think I’m the target audience for some of the Omega style stories. What I mean is I’m not a fan of the Omega style plots where a females biology, in this case her wolf, “requires” that they have a male and it doesn’t matter which. Gives me the ick. The ones where omegas have a purpose beyond anything smexual are usually pretty good. It’s hard to write them all off when you can’t always tell what style you’re diving into in the beginning. The kicker was Nova. We just ain’t vibing, her and I. I can’t put my finger on what it is exactly, the overly hostile behavior at times, or the fact that she’s keeping secrets for what seems no reason, or maybe it was some of the horror during the abuse while she was pregnant. Maybe I got triggered and couldn’t get over it…

This book just doesn’t make any sense.

These characters woke up and chose violence. They woke up and chose to say and do anything they could to make their lives worse.

You have to read it with your head tilted sideways and your eyes half closed to even TRY to understand the characters logic. Half the time there just isn’t any. The miscommunications that happen to move the plot forward would never occur if they acted like any sane person would.

But they don’t. And I just can’t stand writing like that.

RATING: 2.5 Stars

In the beginning I liked this book. It made me feel, it made me want to fight everyone. But as I read I started to lose some respect for Nova.

I understand her predicament was unexpected, and heartbreaking and unkind. But I wish she had more self respect for herself when it came to these Scott boys. I also wish she would take accountability for her actions. A lot of the time she would things she would regret and hated the other person for, even though she agreed to it and in the end blamed them. It was annoying as heck. But even though she would regret things, she would always go around and do them again.

What is learning anyways?

There was so much unwanted touching in this book. Like barely said two words before inappropriate touching. Can we at least get to know each other before you grab Nova's hand and put it on your pants? These people are the most comfortable people ever with physical contact.

Something that also bothered me with this book was just how convenient everything was. For instance,
1) She ends up being rescued by her mates brothers,
2) She mate marked one of them, unbeknownst to her, of course, giving her an excuse of having to stay until it faded
3) The mate mark forcing her to have this "pull" towards one of the brothers but she can't resist, right?
4) When the pipe bursts at her work, forcing her to practically go down to her underwear and white tank top, that just so happened to be see through and, of course, in walks her "mate" (I mean, who sits at desk where you have customers that could walk in at any point while in their underwear?). I could not believe it
5) And of course, this "mate" being there pulled them together
6) Her wandering in the woods by herself (which is stupid to begin with) and getting attacked and the brothers just happened to be there to 'save' her
7) Her wandering in said woods again and SURPRISE gets attacked again, and again, the brother comes and save her

Ugh!

I really wished she would've told the brothers about their brother, they deserved to know but, nope! I won't say one things about it but also .

And then Asher...*Sigh* Poor Asher doesn't deserve any of this.

One thing I did like about the book was the way it ended, not about the mechanics of what happens but how at the end of the book there was still unresolved issues from other points in the book. Some books wrap up points at the end to create all new ones for the next book. It's fine if that happens but I liked that we are kept on our toes about what's going to happen but I really wish Nova will actually learn from this and not just continue being this meek character and hiding.

Elizabeth Blackthorne's latest rh paranormal romance series, Claimed by the Sea Wolves starts with a heck of a punch with Scarred Wolf, the first book in the series.

Nova has been through some hard times, she can't shift, her pack is evil, and she has suffered every kind of abuse there is at their hands and on top of that kicked her out. Nova didn't know care, let alone love until she found her mate who dies at the beginning of this story. Honestly, how she manages she keeps fighting after everything she's been through proves her strength. What I find interesting is that even though she can't shift, she still refuses to submit, which makes me think something else is going on. Honestly, I like Nova, and I understand why she lied at first it came to a point where her lying felt wrong, and she should have fussed up. I am curious to know how all her secrets are gonna come out.

The three brothers of her dead mate are different as night and day. Maverick is the responsible one who is dutiful. Lucas is a psychopath, literally a psychopath, there is no other way to put it he's all darkness and danger. Finally, Asher, the baby brother is sweet, thoughtful, and caring. Overall, I like the guys, Asher the best, but the other two had moments of pure nastiness I had problems with. Seriously, the crap that came out of their mouths... Everyone is allowed moments, but I think theirs affected my perspective of them. Time will tell if the guys will prove themselves.

Apparently, Elizabeth really knows how to torcher her readers because, let me tell you, I had anxiety for ninety-five percent of this book. First, it seemed like most of the male wolves were jerks if not outright evil. Nova's former pack is the stuff of horror stories, and at least one of her tormentors got what he deserved. The backdrop of the cute coastal island with its community feel and ancient sites were great, but it was the treasure that boosted the intrigue. Nova is on a real-life treasure hunt with missing treasure, a treasure map, an old journal, pictographs, and all. I love watching her put together the clues, but while doing so, she revealed an enemy no one saw coming, and I'm still not sure if they see him for the threat he is. I'm not sure if the treasure hunt is still on, but I think there is definitely another puzzle that needs to be put together.

Scarred Wolf had me on edge the entire time. The main characters are great, but the secrets and lies are gonna cause huge problems, and that's not including the other issues Nova and the guys will face. The vicious rival pack, a vicious uncle, missing treasure, and relationship angst are among the other things that are gonna come due, and I'll be waiting for it in the next book.

I enjoyed the story but I am on the fence with FMC. Yes she had a traumatic life which led to her being exiled from her Pack but she was keeping too many secrets. I understand she is still grieving but she is being deceitful and I can't really behind her lies and deception.

Our FMC Nova has found her second chance with not 1 Alpha but 3. As much as Nova tries to keep her distance the Alpha and Omega pull is too strong. I don't even know how Nova is keeping so much bottled in. She's lying about who her former mate was, what her ex-mate's connection is to the new Alpha's she's met nor the fact that she is pregnant. Like I said the FMC is willingly being deceitful and will be the cause of so much heartache and pain.

Nova met 3 Alpha brothers: Maverick the ultimate Alphahole but still loyal and protective ever since Nova unwittingly mate marked him. Then you have Asher who is the youngest and all around Cinnamon Roll Alpha and lastly Lucas; Mr Grumpy Pants who keeps people at arms length until he met Nova.

With all of the bs Nova is keeping from everyone you just know things are going to blow up in EPIC PROPORTIONS!!! If you are looking for a book that pulls at your heart strings in the very beginning only to make you annoyed with the FMC bringing about so much unnecessary Angst; get ready for a wild and frustrating ride.

Everybody is hiding something. Secrets will be revealed and heartbroken. If Nova thought she was Scarred before then she hasn't seen or felt anything yet. I'm so ready to see this trainwreck crash expeditiously in book 2; and then Nova fight for the HEA she was robbed of and Maverick, Asher and Lucas getting the answers they've been seeking about their estranged brother Jaxon.

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
Spice: 🌶️🌶️.5/5
MFC: I’m iffy on Nova right now!
MMC(s): love ‘em.
Plot: 4/5.
Book cover: 5/5.
Would I buy a physical copy?: We’ll see how the series goes!

When I tell you I was yelling “NOOOOOOOOO” like Michael Scott from the office at the ending of this. 🫠

Nova. My girl. SO MANY LIIIIIIIES. My anxiety was through the roof on this one. She clearly saw they were nothing like her father had spouted off, why couldn’t she come clean?! (Minus dickhead Ethan) and the fact that I have to AGREE with the bastard irritates me lmao. I can almost guarantee they would’ve treated her well knowing who she was, despite what their brother did. Which I’m sure Ethan was behind it.

My poor baby Asher. He did NOT deserve that. She all out rejected him and then threw it in his face like that??? GAH. She better be the one groveling next book.

Lucas is my favorite even though we don’t get a whole lot with him like we do with Asher and Maverick. There’s just something about the broody/outcast/dangerous guy that gets me, hook line and sinker.

Maverick is a typical alpha. He cares for his people and is trying to prepare to fill shoes he didn’t want. His words shocked me when they were fighting, I definitely felt the sting of them and wanted to hit him myself lmao.

Also, the darkness of this book?! Was NOT expecting that, I loved it!! The writing was fabulous, the pacing was great and I truly didn’t want this first book to end. Definitely looking forward to seeing how she’s going to come back from all the dang lies! I have a feeling Lucas and Asher are going to get hit harder by them than Maverick. 🫣

I enjoyed this book. It’s not often that I read a book where the FMC is pregnant with the mmc brothers baby, so adding in the twist that they’re fated mates? That was a big draw for me, it’s a more unique plot-line.

When I read the blurb, I thought Nova had run away from her husband, not that Jaxon had died. Riddled with grief and evicted from her home, she sets out for her family packlands; thinking they’d take her in while she gets her feet back under her. That severely backfires and she runs for her life.

Through the twist of fate, Jaxon’s brothers find her, and she unknowingly marks her rescuer as her mate. So they now have to spend time together until the mate mark fades the next full moon so she can leave the island without repercussions. Of course, things don’t go to plan.

Maverick wants to hate her for putting a kink in his plans for pack rivalry peace.

Asher reminds her of Jaxon and she feels guilty for keeping her relationship with their lost brother a secret. He’s also hurt the most when she still wants to leave when the month is up.

Lucas thinks he’s too crazy for her and tries to avoid her at all costs, even though he feels that mate pull towards her.

The mating at the end did not go how I felt it should have, and I can’t help but feel that is going to be an important twist in the next book. There are several little lines in the plot that are still unresolved so I’m looking forward to unearthing more as the series continues.

Loved it!
I enjoyed the storyline and it quickly kept my attention. There were secrets and a few things are revealed. There was also angst and steam.
The story is told in multiple POVs, primarily Nova and Maverick.
I really liked Nova's character. She has been through so much trauma and yet she is still strong. I love that she fights not to always submit. I'm a little nervous to find out what happens when they find out the truth. I hope she tells them though.
The guys are each so different. Asher is such a sweetheart and my heart couldn't help but break for him towards the end. I can't wait to learn more about Lucas and I think we're gonna see more of him soon. Last we have Maverick. He is a bit of an Alpha-hole, but he has a big heart as well.
The ending had me feeling different things...in part it made me so happy, but also anxious about what's gonna happen next!
This was my first read by this author and she didn't disappoint. I think she did a great job!!! I can't wait for book 2!!

Verrrrry steamy, a lot of dark themes though so check the trigger warnings. Really more of a 3.5 but I didn’t want to stop reading so it gets some bonus points. It wasn’t higher because Nova does a lot of REALLY stupid and reckless things that put her in physical danger all while she’s in early pregnancy. It’s actually a shock she didn’t miscarry because she is in at least 4 or 5 situations in this book that easily would have resulted in that in real life. I’m all for showing pregnant people can be active, but she’s out here playing Treasure Island instead of being even a little bit smart with her safety. Also, I think her relationship to their brother and her pregnancy needed to be disclosed prior to them actually mating, it feels really shitty that it’s still a secret at this point in the story. When she reasoned that it was for safety and she was leaving that was one thing, but once she realized that her perceptions were wrong she needed to come clean. Now, as we go into book 2 I’m not on her side really at all because she feels more deceitful than protective to me.

OK

This was an OK read, I enjoyed it initially, my biggest issue with this book is that I struggle with the constant deception. I understand why the FMC Nova was careful not to tell people who she was when she was first washed up, broken, dying and afraid. However, when she realised that she had fallen into the pack of her lost mate Jax’s brothers, especially once she got to know them, I felt like it was annoying she wouldn’t say anything.

I didn’t really like the hot and cold attitude from all the MMC’s, Maverick and Logan especially, towards her, Asher always stayed friendly, it just felt too disconnected to me and yet again a simple conversation would solve most of the angst in this book but then there’d be no plot, even though with her past there could be a decent story without the secrets, and I’ve no idea why we’re on a random treasure hunt too….. but we get random spicy scenes between characters that don’t really seem to like each other more than biology 🤷‍♀️

This is the first start book to a new series!
There is a lot that happens and I don’t want to spoil to much. Nova is a “broken” wolf shifter. She has a very dark past that she ran from. She figures out life a little only to have it fall apart again. Lots of things take place and she ends up on the island ran by the known notorious sea wolf pack. Nova accidentally mate marks the alpha in training Maverick. He resents the mark but the mark pull them together. Nova ends up entangled and drawn to Mavericks two other brothers. Asher is calm and sweet whereas Lucas is dark and mysterious. Not all the answers are given in book 1. The ending cliffhangers makes you want to know what happens next. This book had tender and sweet moments with just as many heartstring pulling moments. It’s well worth the read.

Be sure to check trigger warnings.

An Amazing Story!!!!!!

Oh I absolutely loved this story. This was an extremely emotional story that has so many ups and downs. There was so much pain throughout the story. You can feel Nova’s pain and anguish as she is trying to journey through this story. While some of her decisions to withhold information I did not agree with I can feel her pain if she were to share it. This story definitely has some darker moments that may also be triggers for some but they were tastefully written. They guys were a mixed bag. I loved Archer and his amazing personality. Lucas we really don’t get as much from him but I am so intrigued by his past. Maverick was kind of an alpha jerk but yet you can see more underneath. The story itself is well written and developed. It ends in a big way and I can’t wait to see what happens next.

DNF chapter 10

This is just gross. If these were real people, they would be described as the following

So far Maverick has strong "nice guy" vibes. The kind of guy that tells you he's a nice guy, but he's really just a pos in disguise.

Lucas is definitely a rapist, and to have his mate be the victim of that...serially since childhood is grotesque, especially since it's disguised as he likes is rough

Asher hasn't really showed his ass yet other than he is the guy who says nothing when something is happening. something bad.

I'm also over were-romances where the woman is actively be Sa'd but her wolf is like "nope this is fine, I need this"

I'm not continuing this book or series but also they're convinced she's going to go into heat, but she's pregnant? If someone reads this and wants to spoil that for me, please do.

A fast-paced novel that had me tearing up at certain scenes, I'm continuing this series mostly to see how the pack unravels when the secrets come out to play.
ABO meets Lara Croft (ish) as a pregnant shifter minus her wolf and deceased mate strive to find the hidden treasure her dead mate looked for at his home town. The puzzle/map aspect was interesting to me, but the way Nova slowly wins over the locals and fits right into the structure was surprisingly well-done. This was a free ebook for me, so my expectations were mid. I'm happy to say it was better than I hoped for.
I'm hoping Nova gets a chance to stop being assaulted now though, as it is getting close to the point of being too frequent.

Not only did I get hooked from the beginning, but I binge read the whole trilogy in three days!
The tension and angst over when the guys would find bits out completely propelled me through this. I was just so anxious.
I loved the guys, especially Lucas. Clearly I love a bad boy. 😅
Be prepared to get angry at characters, and some plot points are a little too convenient, but overall, I loved it anyway.

Nova is a "broken" wolf. But that has two meanings. Her mate, Jaxon has died and she cannot shift into her wolf form.

Pregnant with Jaxon's baby, Nova finds herself kicked out of her apartment with nowhere else to go but back to her father's pack.

When that doesn't go well, she jumps off a cliff to escape to the island where the Sea Wolf pack resides, Jaxon's pack.

I really enjoyed this book. But after reading The Wrath of the Fallen series, I felt like the world building wasn't as important in this book as it was the others, but maybe that's to focus more on the characters.

I think the only thing I didn't enjoy, and it's just personal preference, is that she didn't tell the brothers her secret even after the ceremony. And now I'm having second hand anxiety about how this is going to play out.

I'd definitely read again and recommend it to others. Rock, Lucas and Asher are just 🥵 and I cannot wait to read more of them.

I was so drawn in by the blurb, and I am so glad I read this! I loved the different plot that the fated mates and the FMC/MMC, plus how/why they meet. After tragedy tricks Nova, she's going back towards her family pack lands, unfortunately, she isn't met with the warm welcome she thought she'd get. With a twist that Nova didn't see coming, Jaxon's brothers find her. These are the brothers he left behind, and she also marks one of them as her mate. This means she can't leave his side for a month, what could possibly go wrong?

Short answer? Plenty! There are secrets, tension, angst, twists, and turns that you won't see coming. There are also a few holes in the plot lines that I am sure are left open for a reason. I can't wait to see what happens next and how they all react when secrets come out.

Scarred Wolf

Scarred Wolf was a pretty good book, with only a few errors. First, the author had her abused at 15 in the beginning by the pack, then 14 when she was telling Mavrick part if her past. The next mistake was her eye color at first gold, then blue. She is unable to have her eyes go back to normal. They are supposed to stay in her Wolf's color, it's part of the plot. And Mav wishes he knew their true color. So plot errors not good. The story itself, was very good. Author has you crying by page 4. No joke. By page 4, you will be crying by. Aside from those errors it's a great story and I can't wait to read book 2. So i do recommend.

This book hits you hard from the start. Talk about tugging at my heartstrings...I am truly invested in Nova's journey from the start. This book is well written and really draws you in. I love the history surrounding the sea wolves and the island in which they live. I absolutely loved Maverick, Lucas, and sweet sweet Asher. Even though my heart broke for him at the end of this book. I don't want to give too much away but this is a brilliant read. It's Omegaverse, without being thrown in your face as OV. I loved it and can't wait until book 2.

Great start to series! I really got sucked in to this book. I am a lover of the damsel in distress and this one is a traumatized young woman. However she isn't really honest and is planning and plotting which is not something I really like but I do get where she is coming from. She now has a second chance with not one but three mates. I really liked the story overal and can't wait for the second book which is out already and I have read of course but read this one prior and hadn't reviewed it somehow.

Pretty decent read. Really enjoyed the idea and most of the execution of this book. Only negatives were that it left several loose ends, which normally wouldn’t be a big kicker since it has a second book. However, with the events turning out the way they did at the end it’s a pet peeve of mine to have so many personal loose ends. It makes this book feel like it should’ve been a prequel because basically every problem is still a freaking problem. Not a terrible book just wish at least one of her many issues would’ve been talked about. Overall 3.5/5 ⭐️

I honestly was not a fan at all. I think mainly in the way it was trying so hard to be dark and dreary. The big C and the the funeral. The funeral scene really was just too much, come on now, really? Like it already just ‘had’ to have the FMC abused, r*ped, and hated by her pack. Like that was necessary.

I didn’t like the characters or really the plot if I’m being honest. I didn’t feel like it was set up well. I’m surprised by all of the high reviews. I also noticed there were several small inconsistencies.
