I enjoyed this book and did pick up a few tips but Iovine seems to have lost some of her "sparkle" that I loved about her earlier books. Perhaps it was the subject matter - playdates and parties are pretty much common sense and there really isn't any "secret" hidden thing that is only talked about among the girlfriends as there was with pregnancies and living with young children. My daughter's birthday is next week and I had forgotten all about the cake and the favors until reading about it in the book- I have only thrown 9 children's parties so far and can't believe these items didn't cross my mind this time. All of the previous parties for my children I have been on top of things! Well, I need to go order my daughter's birthday cake!
