It was a great book! The art work was...interesting. I guess it’s an acquired taste.

Genre- Biographical nonfiction
The One Bad Thing About Father is a wonderful book written in the form of a child's diary, it has five small chapters. because it is not only an easy read with a few illustrations but also a chapter book I feel that it could be used as a transition book into the realm of books with no illustrations at all. I like this book for a few reasons. The first reason is that it shows us a unique view of the present. that being the view of their children. One chapter stood out to me the most. It was called Government Property. I had never once considered how strange it must be for kids in the White House.Not only is the house, not your parents but neither is the majority of the things in the house aren't either it all belongs to the government. Now I won't spoil what the bad thing about father is because even as a nineteen-year-old college student I found this book both interesting and captivating and think that you should read it. I always like to find new views on things and this book definitely did that without a doubt.

How I wish that Monjo had written more for the I Can Read History series. I'll try to track down his Holt books.

My new third grader read this aloud to me. It is a wonderful early reader for children ready to transition to chapter books.

An interesting children's story about Teddy Roosevelt's kids. I did a book report on it as a kid, it was one of my favorite books to read. I remember reading it over and over.
