Fertility Rite

Lura, a winged female who resides on the planet Vrotia, is about to commence the Fertility Rite, a sacred ritual all winged Vrotian females must perform or chance complete reversion to the primitive nature of the wild huntress. Vu, the Vrotian God of Fertility, has finally revealed to the High Priestess of the Justynian Order the identity of Lura's mate and at last the Rite may begin. Nathan Callendar, an Earthling, is destined to fill the role of Lura's mate. Lura must travel to Earth, seduce Nathan beneath an eclipsed moon, and convince him to return with her to Vrotia. She has only seventy-two hours before she must return to Vrotia--with or without Nathan. Without Nathan's help, Lura will be doomed to succumb to a predatory existence that has lain dormant within her until now. But will he see her only as an unnatural winged alien from another planet and deny her? Or will he allow himself to love the woman destined by Vu to be a part of his future?

About the author

Adrianna Dane (who also writes as Tess Maynard) has been putting pen to paper since the age of ten. She currently resides in the state of Washington and is a member of Romance Writers of America, EPIC. and Broaduniverse.

The first defining love story Adrianna read back in junior high school was "Wuthering Heights" by Emily Bronte, and that set her on the road to her long standing love affair with the romance genre. Her inspiration in writing often can be found by listening to song lyrics and reading poetry by such poets as Elizabeth Barrett Browning, Edgar Allen Poe, and Ranier Maria Rilke. But finding inspiration for her stories truly has no boundaries for Adrianna.

She freely admits she is a romantic by nature and adding sensual heat to romance with a dusting of suspense is her motto. "Esmerelda's Secret" released by Amber Quill Press in June of 2004 was Adrianna's first book, and with that story and her subsequent books has firmly established herself as a voice within the sensual/erotic romance genre.

It felt short and rushed. It could have been a really great story if they author had taken the time to add more plot other than sex and allowed the characters to form a real emotional connection.
