Alien in a Bottle

Rate this book
If Dinn Tauro hadn't shot Tagg Orion off the Inter-Dimensional Wheel, Tagg and his sidekick, Squeeto, would never have crashed on that nowhere planet called Earth. And Sean Winger would never have found the two extraterrestrials in a bottle on the beach. Without the aliens Sean wouldn't have a hope of entering a glass sculpture in the Hollis Art Fair -- and winning a scholarship. That's all Sean really wants in this world. Sean just needs two things -- glass and fire. He knows his parents won't help. So when Tagg offers Sean three wishes in exchange for protecting him from Dinn Tauro, how can Sean refuse? Could two extraterrestrials really hold the answers to Sean's yearnings? Or are they only taking him on an extraterrestrial ride?

On the verge of High School, Sean dreams of becoming a glass-blowing artist, but first he'll need an art school scholarship. Help (and a good deal more trouble as well) comes in the unlikeliest of forms: a crash-landed alien spaceship that looks remarkably like a glass bottle... But the alien, a salesman of secondhand merchandise, has problems of his own in the form of a disgruntled customer from the far reaches of the galaxy. As you might expect, chaos ensues.

An enjoyably goofy novel, Douglas Adams for kids. I'd recommend it to fans of Tesla's Attic and You Can't Have My Planet, But Take My Brother, Please.

Quote of note:
"Why did he and his father always have to be butting heads when they were supposed to have a meeting of minds? Families didn't endure-- they limped along, tripping each other up instead of helping each other along." p139

Alien in a bottle is a very good book because, it involves an alien. The people in the book are Sean winger, Dinn tauro, Squeeto, and Tagg Orion. A bottle was found in the ocean and it was Tagg Orion. Sean said that he was not a genie. He told he was a extraterrestrial from outer space. Without the alien Sean wouldn't be able to make a glass sculpture in the hollies art fair. He wants to win that scholarship.

Wow! This book was one of those, hm that looks like it might be interesting, and it was. I wasn't entirely sure what to expect from this book. But i got a slew of quirky characters and a great story.
This one's out of this world! ;)

A fun story with interesting characters. The storytelling is rather abrupt, as if large chunks of text have been randomly deleted, or the author had trouble finishing one thought before moving on to the next.

This book takes place in a town with a beach named Crane's Neck. Sean is a high schooler with a fascination in art. Sean meets an alien named Tagg Orion and thinks he's a genie.

Sean, Tagg, Olivia, and Squeeto find Dinn and his group of Tauros, angry bear-like extraterrestrials who want revenge on Tagg.

I can't believe this book has a mix of art and aliens. It had a dream ring which made dreams come to life. The bottle is a space ship! Squeeto is practically a brown dot, Tagg is a great salesman, and Dinn really gets tired easily.

I would recommend this book to a friend because you can find probability from possibilities.
