Ulrich Beck has emerged as one of the leading thinkers of the age. His principal claim to fame is as author of the widely acclaimed 'Risk Society', first published in 1986. I consider myself of average intelligence. I went entire paragraphs where I wasn’t sure if the author was experiencing an aneurysm, or if I was.

Written in a needlessly inaccessible style that will leave you more confused than when you started it.
