This is a book I read several years ago, which was given to me by one of my spiritual mentors who passed away in 1982. It opened my eyes to the world of esotericism, mysticism, white magic, and matters concerning the occult. Madame blavatsky is one of the most prominent authors that began a movement that the world can't ever forget. As controversial as she was bringing occultism, also known as theosophy, to America in 1875 with Henry Steel Olcott, the movement was quite popular in the 20th century and unfortunately lost traction towards the end of the century when many new age movements began. All of those movements were based on her work. The secret Doctrine is a two-volume set that will take you a while to read. It took me 3 years to understand its contents and I still refer to both of them as reference books to knowledge which will eventually lead two wisdom.

Icreible

What did I think? I think I never thought as much as I think now that I've read both volumes of this enormous work of Mdm B's heart. I think if you plan to read this 2 volume work, you should probably be prepared to read every sentence at least twice, perhaps even a third time aloud so your ears can take part in the processing of all the information involved. A complex book from a complex woman written in the English spoken in the 1800's - not to mention the various other languages we may never completely understand even if we hire a Sherpa to take us up the Himalayas to visit the wise old monks who would probably just smile at us and wink as they hang another freshly washed 'kerchief out to dry while we bow our heads in praise of their "flags" and pray with them, though they are just as likely to be praying they don't catch a killer cold up there wearing a mere sheet draped over one shoulder while trying to guard the ancient scrolls from enemies that would rather enjoy a more favorable altitude and a meal yielding slightly more sustenance. Ah-choo, Lanoo!!! I jest - I can't tell you what I REALLY think because like the name states - it's SECRET!!! :-)
