Inclusion, says the author, is a discipline of consciously extending the boundaries of our communities to embrace and affirm people of diverse backgrounds and experiences. In this resource for ministers and church leaders, Law provides models, theories, and strategies that are both practical and theologically sound for moving faith communities toward greater inclusion.
This book was a gift from my (then) intern, Denise Aanenson, and I'm grateful all over again that she gave it to me. The third in Law's series on creating inclusive congregations, this slim book had points that I'd heard from Rev. Law in seminars but also things that were new to me. As we work to reach out to the Korean population of Lynnwood at Good Shepherd Baptist, the very practical wisdom of this and other of Law's writings will be a big help to us. If you are part of a church or a judicatory dealing with diversity issues, I highly recommend Eric Law's books and the consultation provided by his Kaleidoscope Institute.
Eric Law on the spirituality of radical inclusion, with suggested exercises for group workshops. Good stuff here but not appreciably different from The Wolf Will Dwell with the Lamb.
