This book is for anyone and everyone who’s planning to have the career of their life, make them big and stand out in their own niche.
The content of this book is mainly chapters which provides all the information you need for every step towards preparation for a career you choose in each chapter.
Moreover, each chapter starts with a song recommendation! What more do we need?!
Yes, this more we do need and the book also provides this: the answers to the burning questions each working woman has!
The content is well crafted giving you answers to the most asked to the least asked questions, basic steps we need to follow and all the motivation we women need to make our dream jobs happen!

I finished this book in a few hours, it was such an easy read- I could not put it down!!! I think the advice she gives is extremely relevant and timely especially for us women. It has given me so much confidence as I go about my job search, eventual salary negotiation and progress through my career. I can’t wait to take on a new role and implement everything I have learned to truly help me grow and thrive. I can not recommend this enough to every single person out there looking to be successful in their career!!!

THIS BOOK. This book sums up any college course you could ever take about resume writing and cover letter must-haves. I so wish I had this book years ago as I was navigating unemployment in my early twenties and an unhealthy and hostile work environment in my later twenties. But I have it now, and have learned so much that will help me professionally in the future.
Normally, I am not a fan of self-help or guide books as they sometimes sound misbelieving and unrelatable. However, Sam’s personal interjections about her own career experience and how she made and learned from her mistakes made this book so human. My favorite part was the section on interviewing tips and tricks and dos and don’ts because that’s where people shine, and have trouble doing so, at least in my experience (FU nerves). Aside from my day job as an editor, I also help high school students write their college essays and personal statements, and I will absolutely be recommending this book as a crucial part of their post-collegiate studies. Smart, relatable, conversational, and beyond helpful.
Whether you are just starting out on the job hunt, are looking to switch careers, or are in the midst of recognizing that you are worth so much more than what your paystub tells you, this book deserves a place on your shelf.

This book could not have come at a better time for me!!
This book has tons of info about jobs and career advice (as well as so much more) but it's not dry and dull like some other books on this topic. The book has a real personality, and makes it so much more readable and enjoyable.
It's incredibly empowering, and really rev'ed me up!

Five stars! Loved the layout and structure of this book. I always find when those things are done right I can get into the meat of a book and learn from it. DeMase does a great job with all of that! I especially liked the tips and the songs for each chapter! Very unique choice. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.

I was originally going to wait until the Kindle version of this book was released, but once I saw on Sam’s Instagram stories that Barnes & Noble already had copies of this book out a couple of weeks early, I knew I wouldn’t be able to wait for its release and I immediately grabbed a copy ASAP.
And, let me tell you, I’m so glad I did! Not only is the book itself gorgeous - the design is colorful but still easy to read, and I love the way information is organized and presented; heck, it even smells nice too 😂 - but the information within is top notch!! I’ve used Sam’s guides before, mainly her interview and cover letter one, as well as following her on social media for a while so I had an idea of what to expect for this book, but she simply blew me away with how well her research and tips were presented here. Her tone is not dry at all - in fact, I found this book rather fun and easy to read, while being incredibly informative - and I love how much she supports her findings with research.
The chapter on replacing “sorry” and other filler words was probably my favorite. Even though this book came at a time when her previous guides have already helped me land a dream job just recently, I still found this book incredibly helpful in validating my decision with all the green flags she had for people-first leadership and what good management and life-work balance looks like.
Highly, highly recommended. Probably a resource I anticipate returning to again and again throughout my career!

A beautiful book inside and out. The color scheme and cover and interior design are stunning, and the content matches. DeMase provides both actionable, pragmatic steps the reader can take to advance her career and a holistic approach to cultivating self-esteem and a success mindset. Each chapter is accompanied by a song that evokes its lessons-- indeed, music is a crucial step to constructing your own POWER MOOD. This will be my new go-to book for young women entering the workplace.

I feel fairly safe in saying that all of us have some kinda trauma around job searching, interviewing, and negotiating, so when I stumbled upon @powermood, I was captives. Sharing tips and tricks to hone your skills in these key areas, this is an invaluable resource, crucial for your success.
If there were a bit more suggestions for a career change, this book would have met me exactly where I’m at. And even though it’s not its fault that it didn’t, I took off 1 star. This would be a great book for anyone starting to building their career. Perfect for those recent college grads… while still having enough for those who want to polish up their skills.
