She has also provided illustrations for several BL light novels by other authors, including The Guilty by Katsura Izumi. Her first manga story, 合格祈願 (Goukaku kigan, Prayers for a passing grade?), was published by Hanamaru Comics in 1997; it was later reworked as the first chapter of Challengers. Most of her works have been translated into foreign languages. She was a guest at YaoiCon 2007, invited by Juné, the US publishers of her popular series Little Butterfly.
When not making Boys' Love manga, she spends her time collecting Wallace & Gromit merchandise and playing Final Fantasy. Takanaga doesn’t like beer and people who are ignorant.
She comments that her biggest influence on her art and writing-style was KOUGA Yun, a famous shoujo manga artist whose works she read as a teenager.

*Kurzmeinung*
Der Manga ist über einen Zeitraum von 4 Jahren entstanden und das merkt man auch, so hat sich der Zeichenstil im Verlauf verbessert und auch mir gefielen die späteren Zeichnungen besser.
Die Geschichte ist ganz süß, Student ohne Plan vom Leben verliebt sich in Autor und möchte unbedingt in einem von ihm geschriebenen Theaterstück mit spielen. Was dann kommt ist leider teilweise ziemlich unrealistisch und das meine ich für fiktive Verhältnisse, es wirkt einfach übertrieben.
Die Charaktere konnten mich auch nicht völlig überzeugen. Ich mag ja gequälte Charaktere, aber Sakuragi übertreibt es echt. Dieses ständige Hin und Her, nervte mit der Zeit leider etwas.

Ein ziemlich mittelmäßiger BL über zwei Kerle, die im Showbussinez arbeiten, aber sich ein wenig stark wie Jugendliche benehmen. Es war nicht wirklich spannend oder tiefgreifend und ziemlich altbacken.

A story about a struggling writer whose life takes a turn after a one night stand with a university student. Lots of angst, but also lots of romance, and not even a hint of dub con, something I'm extra-sensitive about when it comes to Takanaga's works. I really enjoyed this; it was well paced and a good read.

Yeah, kein dub-con! Wir haben einen gestresster Schriftsteller und einen Studenten, die beide zusammen kommen für einen One-Night Stand. Sie treffen sich später wieder, Student wird Schauspieler und berühmter, Schriftsteller fühlt sich nicht mehr gut genug. War gut die Perspektive von jemanden zu sehen, der nicht nur das Gute im Leben sieht. Die story am schluss wo beide essen gehen und der Schriftsteller derjenige ist, der erkannt wird, fand ich gut gelungen. Nur irgendwie war der Lesefluss in diesem Teil nicht so gut.

Aku ga ngerti kok kayanya banyak juga yg tak suka dgn karya Takanaga-sensei yg satu ini... Justru menurutku inilah komik yg paling 'mature' isinya dari semua komiknya yg lain. Entah apakah karena Sakuragi si uke itu begitu negative thinking, worrywart, pesimis orgnya sehingga membuat pembaca lainnya tak tahan dengan dramanya? Padahal menurutku poin2 negatif tsb justru membuat Sakuragi dan komik ini terasa begitu realistic. Menurutku wajar saja kalo dia punya kekuatiran soal karirnya, kehidupan cintanya....bukannya semua orang juga pernah begitu, atau bahkan masih selalu begitu? Sakuragi takut kehilangan karier yg diraihnya dengan susah payah, takut hubungan cintanya takkan bertahan setelah Imamura menjadi aktor terkenal, jadi sebelum mereka berdua terluka parah nantinya, Sakuragi berpikir utk mengakhirinya... Di situlah Imamura yg total opposite of Sakuragi bgt : positive thinking, super optimis, dan cheerful (like a puppy, lol) ini meyakinkan Sakuragi utk percaya pada dirinya sendiri, dan juga percaya pada cinta Imamura terhadapnya. Imamura meyakinkan bahwa ia mencintai Sakuragi, seluruh bagian dirinya, the good parts and even the bad parts of him, karena itulah siapa diri Sakuragi. Sekarang tinggal Sakuragi, bisakah ia mempercayainya?
TBH, aku iri setengah mati sama Sakuragi punya kekasih seperti Imamura, lol.

Imamura : You still don't trust me...? Then let's test it, by you showing me everything that's inside you. However many years it may take, show me all. Don't worry, I'll love you for who you are. trust me.

Wow, no dub-con in this one! For that alone should be a 5 stars manga... there is also a lot of feelings, since this is about a struggling depressed writer who meets a happy, optimistic college boy. The writer inspires the college boy to start a life as an actor, and while the college boy gets recognition and fame, the writer thinks of himself as not good enough. This manga, according to the mangaka's notes, took 4 years to complete, and one can tell with how she improved in her art. I also like that, in spite of being 1 volume only, it develops quite nicely.

I´m still re-reading all the manga I already own and I have to admit that I had absolutely no recollection of what this one was about and if I even liked it when I first read it. Turns out - I probably did.
The art is good, the style changes a bit from chapter to chapter but I didn´t really notice that until I read in the author´s comment at the end of the manga that this story was created over the span of a few years.
There was no non-con (which is kind of a theme with Hinako Takanaga *cough* Tyrant who fell in love *cough*), so yeah for that.
The story was actually pretty nice. I would´ve liked a longer one about both their careers and how they made their relationship work while both their schedules are getting more hectic. But, well, it´s a Oneshot so that´s not going to happen.
