Juan Diego, an urban teenager has hard times adapting to New York, to his school and to his his little sister has Down Syndrome, his father is a busy doctor and his mother works in Christie's. A surprising phone call from a North Dakotan farmer who wants to sell an unknown Picasso in the next Christie's art auction, changes Juan Diego's life and his relationship with his family. It also changes the farmer's 16 children future whose education depends on the funds obtained with the auction.
