Tap the page, shake the book, shout, clap and imagine a silly world of before-and-afters in this interactive picture book. What happens when you knock on an egg? Flip a plate of sloppy spaghetti? Clap your hands near a tree full of birds?...OOPS! When children might otherwise be encouraged to be careful or quiet, in Oops! they are invited to explore cause and effect in mischievous scenarios without the real-life consequences. The results are often surprising and always fun!

2.5 stars--I had mixed feelings on this one. On one hand, it allows kids to "try" a variety of naughty behaviors--such as flipping a plate of spaghetti onto the floor or smashing a carton of eggs--and see the result without actually making a mess.
On the other hand, kids also may be (even more) tempted to recreate these scenarios in real life--which is especially problematic when kids are encouraged to scare a sleeping kitten. Then things go from misbehavior to just plain mean.

My kids and I absolutely love these types of books that are interactive. This one is so stellar and does a wonderful job finding different creative ways on each page to interact with children. Such as pretending to squeeze a tooth paste to pretending to paint with the fingers. It gets a little carried away and the next page OOPS we made a mess. It was a lot of fun to read. Great job to the author!

The illustration as super fantastic, creative, and colorful. Lots of kudos to the illustrator for bringing this story to life.

I would definitely recommend this to any of my friends with young kids and I will be looking for this one as a gift for baby showers.

Thank you to NetGalley and Orbit Books for this advanced reader copy. My review is voluntarily my own.

I will be posting my review to my Instagram page the.littlest.bookworm and retail sites close or on publication date.

This book shows all kinds of situations where kids might screw up and say "Oops!" Some of them are accidents and some the narrator encourages you to do on purpose. In a way, this makes for a very interactive book, but it's also just a little bizarre.

Just giving kids the opportunity to knock things over, shake them, upend them, and generally cause mischief and mayhem with no mess or repercussions. I love it!

Opened up old wounds. For me the “fun” would have been fine if it stayed in the book. If I recreated the activities in real life I would have been in trouble!

Thank you Orca Books for an ARC of this book!

Oops! is an interactive action prompt book that explores cause and effect with simple, bold illustrations. What happens if you shake a box of cereal? What happens if you scream at a sleeping cat? What happens if you drop a mug? This is full of scenarios like that!

It would/will be GREAT in a toddler or prek storytime as well as a lap sit read.

10/10 would recommend! I am so excited for this book to come out.

Oops is a funny little book of giving into those intrusive thoughts. Tip over the cereal! Wake up the cat! See what happens! The illustrations are very cute, and I think there is something to be said for trying new things and seeing what happens without fearing punishment. However, I don't think parents will necessarily appreciate this message. as they try to guide their children's behavior.

Much like Press Here or Tap the Magic Tree, invites readers to physically move the book with a funny payoff on the following page.

I don't love that at least two of the scenarios involve scaring/disturbing animals. Other than that, it's cute.

This is a sweet interactive book that youngsters will love. Little ones will discover what happens when you tap an egg too hard, shake a box of cereal with the lid open, drop a mug full of coco, or shout really loudly beside a kitten asleep in a basket, just to name a few? Oops!

Playful scenarios give children an opportunity to explore cause and effect situations where they usually would be asked to be careful. They are asked to clap, shake and imagine a silly world of before-and-afters. They will love it.

The illustrations are bright and colourful. They show the messy, silly and surprising results of the reader's interactions with the book. Pascale Bonenfont is also the author/illustrator of Play with Jay! and Fun and Games for Little Readers. I highly recommend this fun, engaging book.

Oops! is a cute picture book about the consequences of small actions, like blowing bubbles in a bathtub or spilling a bowl of spaghetti. This is a great way for toddlers to interact with a text while learning about what happens when you do something specific. The illustrations are cute and simple and there are just enough words to keep a toddler interested. My 2.5 year old son LOVED it (sound effects included).

Pretty funny...but I wouldn't want my own kids trying all these experiementally messy things: tipping over a bowl of spaghetti, squashing a tube of toothpaste, etc. Perhaps if you're sharing this in a storytime and explain this is a make believe book about IF/THEN, maybe littles and their grownups can enjoy it for just that, a silly book.

We all remember the 'oops' we have had over the years! This book is a fun way to address accidents and talk about how we should all try to be a little more careful. Small children will be able to relate to at least one of the 'oops' in this book; adults (because we have been around longer) many more! Fun book that is very relatable!

Very sweet additional to the PRESS HERE genre of picture books. I do wish the dimensions of the book were a little bigger though for reading aloud to big groups. And I'm also not sure that the "oops" refrain works because all of this happens on purpose? That part isn't very satisfying, but as a read-aloud, I'm sure this one will be a hit.

In this fun and interactive title, we find out what happens if you tap an egg too hard. Oops. It broke! And that's not the only "oops" that happens in this book! Find out more by reading in it's pages. "Oops" is sure to leave some giggles in it's midst.

Perfect book for curious kids that shows how actions can have different effects. Love the message of accidents happen and it’s okay! Plus, what kid doesn’t love saying Oops!

I liked the premise and the art was very attractive, but some of the prompts are just mean or destructive, not funny. Knocking over a mug (which breaks), scaring the cat or some birds. I was also surprised that the ice cream from the front cover isn't featured in the book at all, either.

Cute interactive book similar to press here and others like that. My daughter loved it since it starts was ice cream. Learning that mistakes are okay.

Thanks NetGalley for this ARC

Not terribly impressed. Maybe very little kids would like this, but it seems like a lame attempt to get them to interact with the book.
