Lovely chapbook with brown spine ribbon and sepia toned photo of a springhouse on the cover. Formal poems and free set in Pennsylvania, a home with a springhouse, creatures and plenty of nature all around.
Mastery of rhyme evident here, and I particularly like the subtle play with near rhyme in other poems. I always appreciate the close observation of nature and creatures, but I also find the human stories in here moving and frightening.
