In the swamps of Louisiana, The Bishop and The Twelve are the law.
When Bishop rescues Beth, a woman beaten half to death by sex traffickers, he learns the dirty Roulette MC are connected. Ready to judge these land demons, he lures them into the swamp with an illegal arms deal, planning to hide every last one until they give up their guilty.
While his blood boils with plans of vengeance, he uncovers secrets about her family. And amidst all his schemes of war, Beth wages one of her own, making him burn for everything he's sworn off.
He needs to make her his, but Bayou Bishop code means allowing her to choose to serve in The Twelve with him. But before she can, she has to pass The Gauntlet Trials. And in a war where they thirst for his blood, Bishop is ready to make sure she fails in order to protect her.
Have you read Lucian Bane's work? Have you been to the Louisiana Bayous? OMG, you have to let him introduce you to this world!
1. BAYOU BISHOPS Okay, living down on the coast for 25+ years and then moving North to be with my grandchildren, 'Bayou Bishops' in the "Bayou Bishops" series by Lucian Bane immediately made me homesick for all the sights, sounds, and smells. He's painted such a realistic picture with his words I was transformed back to a place and time that is part of my soul. Each of the characters brought their personalities and idiosyncrasies that just made the storyline that much more. Besides, who wouldn't love Mah-Mah? This book is filled with all the action, angst, drama, passion, humor, love, and loyalty that anyone could want in a storyline. And I absolutely loved the growth and exploration between Bishop/Sahvrin and Beth. I can tell you right now, that I'm hooked on this series just from this one book and intend to jump on the 'The Eveque' next.
2. THE EVEQUE This is not a standalone storyline as the current book feeds off the previous one. 'The Eveque' is the second book in Lucian Bane's "Bayou Bishops" series and if you haven't started it yet, you have no idea what a treasure you're missing! As I'm reading this book I feel like I'm there, catching up with old friends and making a part of all that is happening. If you read 'Bayou Bishops', book one, then you'll remember there is a celibacy clause. Well, if you use a bit of creative thinking, you'll know there are ways to achieve the end results without breaking the clause and of course, Sahvrin and Beth have put that to good use. *fans face here* Now that Beth's going to become Bishop's Right Hand, she has a choice to make. One that only she can decide without any interference from Sahvrin. On top of that, Beth finds out, from the Horde's investigation, that she has a sister she doesn't remember who has been living in a hospital all these years. It becomes Spook's job to protect, babysit, and train her for survival in the swamp. Oh, and Spook is still living with the celibacy code and Maggie is wanting to constantly feel him. Mon Dieu! The war is still on the horizon, things are changing faster than The Twelve seem comfortable with, and the Revelator has answers to questions he's had all his life. What a great book. This is turning into an epic series.
3. THE REVELATOR Holy crap on a cracker!!! 'The Revelator' is the third book in Lucian Bane's "Bayou Bishops" series and, if you're like me, it will blow your mind! Have you read this series yet? Have you at least started it? Okay, please don't shortchange yourself as I did. I just got to this in my 'To Be Read' list and I'm so sorry I waited so long. Read the blurb and you'll realize that The Revelator is a spiritual man, not to be mistaken for a religious man, who has always had a strict moral compass and sees to the needs of the people in the swamp. He's lived a celibate life until Maggie, with her seeing powers, freed him of the self-imposed leash he kept himself on. This is wonderful as far as Mah Mah is concerned because you know how much she loves to play matchmaker. Fate, the Good Lord, or Lucian Bane have decided differently. Cherie is brought into life and nothing is the same. There is wonder and innocence within this storyline, combined with the intense physical chemistry, which makes this a compelling read. Cherie is a contradiction unto herself. She has a shy, intimidated, almost fearful personality when it comes to intimacy towards her but a playful, aggression when it comes to Samuel. This is not one to be missed for sure.
This is not my type of book. I, sadly, couldn't finish reading it. It would be a great story with less graphically long sexual content.
The story idea was good by itself. The idea of the twelve and standing against evil. That is intriguing. Spiced with a little romance is nice. That is not what it is.
It is porn spiced with the potential of a great story. Some people like that. Its just not for me.
Not enough stars! It's amazing! Lucian Bane is the best!
Omg! I'm so in love with this series so far! I have been reading about this and now I finally know why everyone loved it. These stories have it all! It's a secret society vibe but Louisiana style! These Swamps aren't just hot weather wise either. MON DIEU! Each book is connected but each introduces an in depth story of the Twelve. Plus there's a lot of mysterious stuff to unravel. Beth's Sister is great! Bishop and Beth are scorching hot and face a lot together. Them there's the Villainous Bishops ex. Woman fight, men fight and families first with these Hatches. It's also very very funny! Makes me want to go down to these Bayou's right now lol! Lucian really knows the dynamics of the Swamps and the language and cooking..This isn't my first read of his and he'd one of my very favorite Authors! Read this but if you don't love a lot of hotter than Hades scenes then it's not for you..I do and I can't get enough! Off to the next three books!
Really like the characters especially the hot, holy yet flawed aspects to their characters. I was a bit confused at first. In the first book some aspects read as though a book had come before, like as the reader you should have known what was happening but later on those things was explained, like what the twelve really was, how were the twelve a separate entity from the Bishops things like that. I especially liked how all the characters are intertwined in each book. Each couples story moves forward in subsequent books. A must read
I absolutely love this writer’s work. Unique characters and story lines. Perfect blend of danger, spiritualism, heart and eroticism. Never over the top but sublime. I’m amazed I was able to see the “traditional” male/female roles in a positive light. Perhaps that’s due to the fact that the characters, and I presume the author, has an appreciation respect for women. Looking forward to the rest of the series.
Totally different from anything I've read before. Gives you some insight into what might go on in the swamps of New Orleans. They are guardians of the swamp and live by a code . One woman will open their eyes to so much more. Strong language and adult content. I received a free copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
So different from other books and you draw us in to a world that is other worldly!!! Love and sex and rules and swamp life making us want these men!!! Can it get better ? It does I’m waiting
Highly evocative and masterfully woven storytelling for those of us familiar with the setting. Lucian Banes's ability to balance severe darkness with intense, devoted love makes reading this entire series compelling.
A great triple treat starter pack and a good way to enter the swamp if you're a new reader to the books. Check my reviews for each of these books on their own listings they're all five star reads !!
I wasn’t sure when I purchased but once I started I was hooked and have now purchased all in the same series Seer is next and I can’t wait Loved this box set
The twelve are something else and funny or deadly. So much going on with the couples so far. I really got into the Revalator but left me hanging till the next book.
These books are totally awesome. Each time I read them they are better than the last time I read them. I am so hooked on this series of books. I have read each book least 5 times some of them like books 1-4 more than 5 times which are my favorite ones.
