Trust: The Randy Puzzle

Rate this book
Fathers make plans for their children, even if they don't intend to. They have dreams. For who they will be. Perhaps for who they will marry. Randy Lascomb is not only the son of Jack Lascomb, Norman Copeland's best friend (and his pastor), but Norman has secret hopes that his daughter Kitty will someday marry Randy. On a youth retreat for their church, Mr. Copeland is the camp director. Randy takes a walk with Copeland, and discloses that he is in love...with another boy who attends the same school. But before he tells Norman, Randy extracts a pledge that Norman will not tell Jack, who has no idea that his son is gay. Architect Copeland has to make a to keep his word to the boy, or to pass the knowledge of Randy's inner self along to his parents. And he struggles to discern which is the right thing to do.
