A missionary friend gifted me this book after a heartfelt conversation with her about faith. She was aware of my stand on this yet told me to try reading this, it might be the right one from me. I couldn't refuse it out of politeness, however I was certain it will just stay in my shelf. Two years later, I stumbled upon some pages and woah, this was actually good. So I started reading each page, attentively, for the summer. I can't believe I finished over 300 pages of religious text and even enjoyed it. I might not believe in 'the truth' behind it but I'm all up for new information, about any religion. I'm especially interested in Christianity. I approached this as any other self-help book, the plus side being this had a spiritual touch to it, duh. It was comforting, I'm so glad I gave it a chance.

I read the "for women" version, but it's not listed on this site. It is a good resource to quickly find Bible verses that relate to a desired topic; suffering, worry, acceptance, etc. It's helpful in finding related verses.

The Living Translation is my favorite of the modern ones. It does difficult passages well. I still use the New King James and the American Standard for study.

This is not my usual Bible translation to read for my religious studies, but I was impressed with this easy-to-read "New Living Translation" text. I must say that its breakdown of verses in this method made for a clearer understanding. Not necessarily true in every case. Still continue to use various parallel Bible translations. Always thinking I'm missing something. This Bible will continue to be used as a reference, resource and tool in my on-going Bible studies. Worth the 5-star rating and a 5-star recommendation for all to read. Enjoy and keep reading.
