Samantha Seven years ago, her best friend betrayed her in the worst possible way. Now, the police are looking into him for even more heinous crimes and had called her in to answer some questions. Not only did this interview introduce her to the hot shifter detective, but it also brought to her attention the fact that her daughter might be in danger. She has no choice but to ask Andrew for help in keeping her daughter safe. Little did she know, she didn’t even need to ask. Andrew His journey to keep a promise he made to his best friend and his mate takes him to Desert Pines where his investigation leads him to Samantha and her six-year-old daughter Nicole. Samantha is his fated mate and both she and her daughter are in trouble. It quickly becomes a struggle between following the law and succumbing to his enforcer instincts in order to keep them both safe. One thing was for sure though, he wasn’t going to let Dylan anywhere near them. He’d die first.
Amanda K. Mann is a Cali girl, born and raised. She’s the mother of two amazing children, both a son and a daughter, and a wife to an amazingly supportive and loving Marine husband. Which means she gets to move every three years or so.
Animal lover and Supernatural addict, she spends most of her free time with her nose stuck in a book or typing away at some new idea that popped into her brain. Her blood type is caffeine and she is a sucker for cute otter pics.
This was good continuous of the storyline from the first book. I felt the characters were well developed and enjoyed the storyline. I enjoyed this short story think this is a good series.
This book starts two months after the first with Andrew still following up on the history of Evelyn’s blind date (from the first book) and the other women he’s attacked. His work has taken him to New Mexico where he meets Samantha (the suspect’s first victim). When she walks into the room he knows she’s his fated mate but considering their reason for meeting it’s not easy for him to reveal (but makes him even more determined to protect her).
When Samantha walked into the police room she felt drawn to the detective leading the investigation but realises that her daughter could be in danger from her old best mate. She’s grateful that Drew’s there to help her but is nervous when she finds out he’s a shifter, her best friend’s family are strongly against them.
A great story, with protective males, romance and humour, which I really enjoyed and like the first, I couldn’t put it down. There is also a great bit at the end, hinting of a third book.
I received a free ARC copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
WOW this is such a great paranormal story! I have found each one are intriguing and captivating. Even though it's about fated mates its exciting. and full of romantic chemistry with sizzling hot passion with awesome characters and oh my the drama is well absolutely enjoyable. The ladies are so lovable and men makes you want to melt with how protective they are. This will give you such a pleasurable experience that you will definitely enjoy. They are so good you will want to read it more than once. It's a great love affair that makes you smile at the happy couple you are reading about. I really enjoyed reading this story it's written with such extraordinary imagination that makes it a pleasurable and beautiful experience to read. If I could I would give them ten stars because they are for sure worth five stars.
Andrew is determined to find Dylan and bring him to justice. Him and Mason arrive at the destination only to have Andrews fated mate be Dylan's first victim and she has a daughter, Dylan's child. Samantha feels something when she meets Andrew but not exactly what. Dylan is in town and wants to claim Nicole as his and take her away from her mother. Andrew and Mason have another idea. The connection is immediate and Nicole is too darn cute and smart for her own good. Wonderful characters and great story. Mason is conflicted and not looking towards his future.
If you are going to write a story with a criminal, know at least a little about most state's laws. Who are these women that a slap cows them? (These meaning also the FMC from book one, which I forgave since she had a lot going on.) I just couldn't keep reading when a cop does not know that you cannot force your way into another person's home.
I enjoyed this book! I’ve been waiting for the next couple and Andrew and Samantha was such a good match. I loved that it connected back to the first book with the case that Andrew worked on during this book.
I can’t wait for the next one! I highly recommend this series and other Amanda’s work.
He was the cop following the case of Dylan, so he has to talk to all his victims, but when the first victim walks in he knows that she is his mate. She didn't know why the cops wanted to talk to her so she went to their office.
The threat that the rapist presented was not over. Andrew followed him back to his home town only to discover that his first victim, Samantha is Andrew's mate. It's personal now.
I love the Curvy Shifter stories being a curvy woman myself. I am new to the shifter universe but not the romance genre, I would recommend this book and the author to any who like: romance, fantasy or shifter stories. Go ahead, read it. You'll like it.
