I have often felt like I was reading slower than I would like to. I found this book at the library and LOVED it. It really did help a lot. Although to keep reading really fast you have to keep practicing. There are a lot of speed reading books available. I checked a lot of reviews and decided to try this one. It was very helpful!
This book is helping me to identify things about my own reading style that slow me down and is also giving me new techniques to help speed up my reading rate while maintaining full comprehension.
I didn’t have very high expectations for this book, however it did just as advertised, tripling my reading speed in a very short period of time. This book essentially just brings awareness to some of the most common bad habits with reading, and offers simple and effective ways to break the habits. These very simple corrections of bad habits worked astonishingly well; I would recommend this book to anyone who has a reading speed of 250wpm or less.
Find a full review on https://www.literarydragonreviews.web... Found this little number while going through checking the stacks for call number accuracy and couldn't help but check it out. Very useful. Even if you read quickly (which if I'm bragging I totally do) this is super helpful. It reminded me of all the little tricks I can use to read more quickly. The best part is that I can pick and choose which tips to focus on based on the reading I'm doing. Solid little book that I read (about half of because the rest was practice and I have more entertaining books to practice on) in like an hour. You can undoubtedly find this information online, but I'm a book woman.
Wanted too improve the speed that I read. This book gives some good tips and exercises although I believe my comprehension rate was higher from educated guesses. Ironic enough it took me awhile to get through the book because I would put it down and pick it back up often.
This is my second reading of this timeless book on speed reading. Professor Zorn breaks speed reading down to its basics and provides practice exercises throughout the book. Using his techniques, I have increased my reading speed to 500+ WPM which is still slow for me, as I want to get into the 800+ WPM.
To increase your speed, one critical point Zorn points out is to avoid regression, that is your biggest culprit in not increasing speed. New is practice, practice, practice.
For anyone wishing to increase their speed in reading, this is a nice little gem of a book to have.
