This is an excellent book that is unusual because it highlights the writing of African American MEN. In most instances one would not associate African American men with writing; however, this book not only associates African American men with writing, it is proof positive that African American men do write and can articulate their feelings on paper. Contrary to popular belief that men in general, much less African American men, can express their emotions is truly shown as a myth in Paper-Thin/Soul-Deep. I am a contributor to this book myself and found it to be a wonderful experience to be published along with other ordinary African American men in a collection of personal letters and journal entries. I would recommend this book to both males and females alike.
