Now people are trapped in their homes without heat and water. Fallen trees, downed power lines, and slick roads mean danger for all who live there.

Not much to add here, honestly! While this one is a little anti-climactic with its final rescue, there's so much packed in beforehand that it's probably best there wasn't a huge finale. I also think it's a bit unfair the Callahans aren't viewed as just as heroic as Santa Paws at this point, considering they are usually there assisting with rescues if not outright carrying them out, but I'm sure the dog would get all the credit in real life, too.

The only thing these books are missing is an adventure with Evelyn. This one can be a little daunting, rescues from beginning to end with very little break, but it all adds up to a well-deserved ending where our Santa Paws and his kitty friends can finally relax.

Note to all, this is NOT the third Santa Paws book. It is the forth. I started reading this book after reading "Return of Santa paws". It mentioned stuff from "Santa Paws, Come Home" and I realized that it wasn't the third book. Read "Santa Paws, Come Home" first. It is the third book.

This was a really good book. I read these books every year at the Christmas season and enjoy them.

Santa Paws ranks among my all-time favorites. I love how the author is so descriptive, and I love how the characters, especially Santa Paws, are portrayed. This book isn't too intense for young children, and at the same time it's not a baby book. I'd say this kind of book applies to all ages. If you haven't read this book yet, then you have no idea what you're missing. It was close to Christmas and with Santa Paws at home it was going to be the first relaxing holiday the Callahans had had in years. Nobody could have known that they were going to have much more than just a white Christmas. A huge ice storm takes Oceanport by surprise, an amazing number of accidents happen. Is this storm a disaster not even Santa Paws can face? But Santa Paws sets out with his new sidekick, mischievous Abigail the cat, to save Christmas once again. He braves everything from falling trees and car crashes to loose cows and a cat stuck in a slippery tree, to make sure everybody has a happy holiday. I totally recommend this book and can’t wait to read more of Santa Paws adventures.

this book was mostly about the callahans thinking this christmas was going to be a rescue free one, when actually it was more full of rescues then other christmas because of the big storm that was very dangerous. the main characters in this book were santa paws, the dog that rescues people all the time, abigail, santa paws' friend, mrs. callahan, the mom of santa paws' owners, mr. callahan, the dad of santa paws' owners, patricia, the girl of santa paws' owners,and gregory, the brother of patricia. the part that i think is the most important in his book was when mr. callahan stayed calm during the storm. my favorite character was santa paws because he rescued everyone even though it was stormy. my favorite part was when santa paws found mrs. callahan so she could be rescued. i learned that it is safe to stay inside during a storm so you don't get hurt. auryn 11 years old, 2014

Santa Paws, always available, saves people during one of Oceanport's most severe storms yet. His own family also needs his help. The action/peril in this story is quite scary at times. However, no threat is too great for our smart, fast, caring friend! One thing I really like about this author is that he creates such a neat suburban location. I always want to visit the little town whenever I get done reading a "Santa Paws." And in this book, he describes the winter storm SO well. Seriously, I felt like it was raging outside B-) And Christmas just makes it extra cozy :-) A great, quick read!

There is a big snow storm in the town of Oceanport, and Greg's family is soon seperated from each other. Greg's family had some bad luck recently, and so do most of the town. Santa paws also returns to doing a bunch of hero stuff in Oceanport. He saved a family from getting suffocated from carbon monoxide! But Santa paws lost some oxygen so he had to stop patroling Oceanport for a whole week. But will the Callahans reunite? You should read this book to find out!

Aw! Charming story. I do love Santa Paws. He's a busy dog at Christmastime, especially when the hugest snowstorm *ever* breezes right in. He has many more emergencies in Oceanport to attend to!

For a children's chapter book, the descriptions of the emergency helpers (i.e., police officers, paramedics, etc.) are so descriptively told, and they feel quite accurate and modern. Darling book!

This is a really good book for adolescents, or adults who just enjoy fun Christmas stories. The book is a series of rescues this dog with a sixth sense picks up on, and then in true Lassie form runs to find human help. The Fire Dept not only knows the dog but will automatically follow. Just added to my preparation of the holiday season.

Santa Paws to the Rescue is the fourth book in Nicholas Edwards’s Santa Paws series. This time the Callahan family is staying home in Oceanport for Christmas, but with just a couple of days left to go before the holiday, a major ice storm is being predicted for this small oceanfront town. On the day the storm hits, oldest daughter Patricia is stuck late at school for detention and doesn’t want her parents to know, so she attempts to walk home. Son Gregory is at an away game for his basketball team and the bus slides off the road on the way home. Mrs. Callahan goes out after school to get some last-minute gift shopping done, and ends up in an accident in a remote part of town when a tree falls on her car. Meanwhile, Mr. Callahan is at home worrying about his family when they don’t arrive back at the expected time and ends up going out searching for them. Santa Paws senses his concern and begins to worry, too. When another tree falls on their house, breaking a window, Santa Paws, along with his new cat friend, Abigail, also head out in search of their family. Along the way, Santa Paws rescues many other people from perilous circumstances. Even after his family is found and back at home, safe and sounds, Santa Paws continues his quest to make sure everyone in Oceanport who needs help is rescued.

Each book in the Santa Paws series has been a fun adventure and Santa Paws to the Rescue was definitely no exception. Because Santa Paws ends up helping a lot of people, I thought this one was rather reminiscent of the Lassie movies and television show. Santa Paws may be spending this Christmas at home, but when the ice storm hits, there’s no shortage of people to find and rescue. The members of the Callahan family are his first priority, but with his doggie senses constantly alert for danger, he helps many others in need along the way. I like that Abigail, the cat he rescued and brought home in the previous book, Santa Paws, Come Home, accompanies him. Unlike Santa Paws, though, she doesn’t have a hero complex and ends up being a little disdainful of their mission and the cold. She mainly goes along just to annoy him. They make a humorous duo, though, making me chuckle a few times. I think it’s rather cute that everyone in town knows Santa Paws and trusts his instincts. The Callahans have just come to accept that when he runs off, it’s for a good reason and trust him to come back when he’s ready. Whenever he goes to the people in uniform looking for help, they follow him without question. He’s even famous enough that the radio news reports on some of his saves during the storm. All of this might not be entirely realistic, but it does make for an entertaining and festive story. Given that I, as an adult, have enjoyed these books so much, I can’t imagine that the middle-schoolers at which they’re aimed wouldn’t appreciate them, too, especially if they’re partial to adventurous stories with animal characters. I look forward to continuing the series next holiday season.

The fourth book of the Santa Paws series! Now with 300% more rescues (I honestly feel bad for the dog, he doesn’t allow himself any rest and feels compelled to rescue EVERYONE, poor thing). The last 30 pages were probably the worst of it, where it’s just rescue-rescue-rescue-rescue, like a montage of them.

The dog now is able to psychically tell when something bad is about to happen (as proven by his rescues before there’s any actual danger/event) and, this time, has a cat aiding him on his rescues! It would make for a nicer change of pace, but all the cat does is just repeatedly get in his way and just… pad the word count? Cat does nothing, it mentions it doing nothing, it keeps doing nothing. Why have it?!

Two more uses of the word “maniac” in this book, one to describe a character when she can’t access the internet for a few hours, and the other when talking about some panicking kids after a bus crash.

The book series isn’t *bad*, it’s just very repetitive.

This time, a bad ice storm has hit the town! Santa Paws and his sidekick, the cat, go back and forth across the town rescuing people all over the place! It's unrealistic, but it's a fun read.

I realllllly enjoyed this book just as much as "come home". They are both really good books, and I would recommend this series to dog lovers. When I chose this book, I got hooked to it. I just kept wanting to read more and more.

I also read this one as a kid (when I was nine) and I really liked it. It was a cute read, mainly because it was about a dog and his family, and how the dog acted as a savior. A dog really is a man's bestfriend.

I kind of like this book because Santa Paws has to rescue people. I liked the part when the bus crashed. Santa Paw's owner is in a crash, and he rescues her. I give this book 4 stars.
