Haunted Gettysburg

Rate this book
Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, is one of the most haunted places in the world. For three days in July, 1863, the fields, farms, and town were left blood-soaked and piled high with wounded and dead soldiers from both the Union and Confederate armies. At the Jennie Wade house, meet an angry spirit in the basement, who tries to keep people away. Learn about the negative spirit at The Soldiers Museum that had paranormal investigators chasing it through darkened hallways. Hear the tortured children in The Orphanage basement that still romp and play there. Tour the Triangular Field to see Confederate soldiers who still battle and hear a lone bugler who plays Taps late in the evening at The Wheatfield. Feel the torrential rain storm that never happened near Picketts Charge. The dead in Gettysburg are alive and waiting for you.

Interesting stories and I can’t wait to go back to Gettysburg and explore more. However, this book is in desperate need of an editor!! I have never read a “published” book riddled with so many grammatical errors.

I purchased this book while on a recent visit to Gettysburg. I love reading ghost and paranormal stories of the places I am going to visit or have visited. There were a couple of things about this book that really disappointed me. First, there were so many written errors in this book I cannot believe it was reviewed by an editor and published. Every few pages I found errors. Unacceptable. Second, the stories will mention pictures showing "interesting" phenomena but the pictures are not included in the book. Overall, it was an OK book. There were parts that I found interesting, but it left me scratching my head and thinking, "these stories are very lame, and not believable." If you are looking for ghost stories of Williamsburg, I would recommend the Ghosts of Gettygsburg series of books written by Mark Nesbitt.

I bought this book in Gettysburg, thinking it would be a great keepsake. Unfortunately, it was a total flop for me. It would be good "I can't sleep material" as I found myself bored to sleep multiple times. The book is error-ridden and the stories are either so vague like "I saw a shadow man figure" or just not believable. The narratives are repetitive. Also, the history and background of the sites are very brief.

I do appreciate that a lot of the key sites are written about. Just wish I would have skipped this specific book.
