Rate this book
The Or Boston Before The Revolution is a historical novel written by Lydia Maria Francis Child in 1850. The book is set in Boston during the years leading up to the American Revolution and follows the lives of several characters who become involved in the rebellion against British rule. The main characters include a young woman named Esther who is torn between her loyalty to her family and her desire for independence, a British officer named Henry who struggles with his duty to his country and his growing sympathy for the colonists, and a group of rebels who plot to overthrow the British government. Through their experiences, the book explores themes of patriotism, loyalty, and freedom, and offers a vivid portrayal of life in colonial America. The Or Boston Before The Revolution is both a compelling work of historical fiction and an important reflection on the events that led to the founding of the United States. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
