I think this book is very interesting. Getting to see a description of different gods and monsters and where they are from is exciting. I recommend this book because it is very educational and cool. You would especially enjoy this book if you're into myths or the study of gods.

If you are looking for a book which collects deities and creatures from cultures around the world, this is a good place to start. Both it's strength and it's weakness is that it is a collection of snippets so you get a taste of the mythology of many cultures, but nothing in great depth. But the snippets are good and well thought out as these things go, and the photography is top notch. I really appreciated the art work from ancient cultures which is in full color on every page. I would not buy this book in paperback, it will soon acquire enough use that you will wish you had the hardback. All in all, one of the better introductory books to world culture around.

This book was very helpful, but I would not suggest it for what I wanted to use it for; a college paper. This book would be good for someone who is just getting into mythology,  but this is not for a person who is looking for a deeper understanding of the myths of yesterday.

The lore changes and things get brighter or dimmer for new information one day this may even be obsolete.

A continuing resource for all of mythology. I was just looking through it the other day, but got it maybe two years ago. I'd say this is the second book of mythology I know of, next to D'aulaires' book of Greek Myths

It was very interesting and intriguing. I enjoyed getting a lot of background information on different types of countries and continents as well . I also liked how when you started reading the part in the book about Greece, it listed each God,Goddess, monster,Titan, anything you name it. This book will not only give you a bunch of information, but also if you feel like learning about Greek Mythology by yourself, this book is definitely the book to read. :)

One of the reasons I like this book is because it shows all the myths of the worlds. This book has many countries it talks about and what type of myths are in each country. So if anyone who likes learning about mythology and world geography they should read this book.
