A some point in every gardener's life there comes a time when they need to fill a open space in their landscape quickly be it as a result of the death of a large tree or purchase of a new home with minimal landscaping. Sue Fisher has created a beautiful book including gorgeous photographs of 200 fast growing plants. However like many books that do not address specific locales, "Fast Plants" tries to address too many planting zones. As a result, this book has very little to offer gardeners in Zone 5 and northward. Perhaps gardeners in Zone 7 might find this book of more value. For this reason, I consider this book to be eye candy rather than one I would buy for my library.
