Limited in its specific information but certainly broad in its general information. Would be helpful for planning a trip, not so much for writing research for a story set in Sicily.

A good, traditional travel guide book, covering major cities and popular tourist spots in detail. It offers good suggestions and tips for making the most of each area. Full color with gorgeous photographs to tantalize your eyes. Back includes a section on economics, politics, history, art and architecture, food, lifestyle, and fashion and design to help the visitor to better appreciate and understand Italy.

This was a fantastic guide! We went to
4 different cities in Rome without a complete plan of where to go. This book along with the free WiFi in our home stays helped point us in the right direction. For each Italian city, Lonely Planet would give you a break down of some of the most significant sights, restaurants, and night life. We had great suggestions on museums, historical sites, and restaurants!

As a travel guide on a Kindle Fire, or any tablet?, no thank you - never again. I will take a paper copy.
Because it covers all of Italy, it wasn't as good as we needed it to be for the areas we were in. I was disappointed.

A tourist guide of Italy. Just like any other one. Just make sure you take one made in the last few years as things might change.
