As the title suggests, this book is a rapid overview of the field of statistics. Little time is spent explaining the material in depth. In general, a concept is introduced, it is briefly explained and the necessary formulas are given, and then it is briefly illustrated with an example.

The most important thing in a book like this is that all of the formulas are there, along with the instructions on how to use them. This is not a complete course by any means. This is most likely going to be used as a reference. And as a reference book, it's good.

Flash read. I am the one who looks for a little bit of enlightenment in statistics. However, this book seems to set the bar a little bit too high for a beginner. Nice book, but more kinds of examples or illustrations should be good.

As the name suggests, this book provides essentials for statistics, and I find it very useful especially for my college statistics. This book covers both Statistic I and Statistic II (although it kind of went more to statistic II), and has a brief yet understandable explanations that most people could pick up if read carefully. However, as much as the plus side this is, this is not a replacement for statistics textbooks, and its much suitable for additional or supplemental reading (I for instance use this book for my Statistic II course for my college).

Very good book, I look forward to see the larger explanation version in Statistic I & II For Dummies , for I will further refresh myself into statistics as I will encounter more courses that are related to statistics.

Also, this book has a hints of Research Methodology, just a brief one.

If you are not familiar with basic stats from high school or college then this book is not for you. It's a compact handy book to be used for reference or quick brush-up. The author covers all basic stats with just the right amount of detail.

less than useless. i expected a short summury of main points in statistics as a guid to remember what i have studied in university (essentially what the book is said to be for by author) and here i found a compilation of scatered statistical "stuff". some important moments are not covered some are described too deeply. i absolutely recommended not to spend time on this book. it might only confuse you.

I read this as a review before taking Statistics II. I suppose time will tell how much it helped, but I think it served the purpose well enough. It wasn't exactly engaging, and there were oodles of semantic errors, but for what it is I think it's alright.
