WILDER-SMITH'S LAST "SCIENTIFIC" APOLOGETIC BOOK
Arthur Ernest Wilder-Smith (1915-1995) was an organic-chemist, humanitarian, lecturer and an author on young earth creationism. He also wrote books such as 'Man's Origin, Man's Destiny: A Critical Survey of the Principles of Evolution and Christianity,' 'The Creation of Life: A Cybernetic Approach to Evolution,' 'He Who Thinks Has to Believe,' and 'The Natural Sciences Know Nothing of Evolution.'
Here are some quotations from this 1987 book:
"The alternative we offer here to Darwinian theory remains strictly scientific in that it recognizes one vital fact: the necessity of factor 'I' (informational effects) before any machine can be generated from raw matter. This generalization comprises and includes biological mechanisms. We offer no explanation as to the source of factor 'I.' ... It would need therefore genuine revelation to solve the problem of the origin of factor 'I'... In this volume we offer no speculations on the origin of these surprise effects---though we do give some scientifically valid hints." (Pg. vi)
"Simple machines ... CANNOT evolve upwards by Darwinian creative mutations followed by natural selection, simply because they do not reproduce." (Pg. 6)

Read this years ago when I was a creationist. I liked it at the time but now find all of these arguments unconvincing.
