We've read a few of the books in the How Do
Dinosaurs..."
series by Jane Yolen and Mark Teague, but our girls have outgrown these books, so I read them at the library myself.

This is a fun book that includes several punny riddles, with the answers hidden behind flaps. I'm afraid that the target audience will not really 'get' the jokes, but I thought they were somewhat humorous. Children will enjoy the lift-the-flap feature nonetheless.

Boo! Nothing but a cheap cash in that reuses assets from previous books and adds lame jokes to them. You know it's cheap when the "What kind of stories do dinosaurs like?" section just uses a pic of a sick dinosaur with the only relation to the theme being he's holding a coloring book. Seriously a shame, as the actual "How Do Dinosaurs..." books by Yolen and Teague are great. This one is a (ahem) joke.

Speaking of which, I'll leave you with this "joke":

What did the dinosaur say right before bed?
Good night, sleep tight. Don't let the Tyrannosaurus bite!

My bright four year-old grandson didn’t get the jokes in the book even though he loves dinosaurs. There are several flaps on each page to answer the jokes. Cool dinosaur illustrations that identify the type.

My kids love the How Does A Dinosaur books. This is new release is a lift the flap, laugh out loud, joke book. Each page has a fun joke and when the flap is lifted, the answer is revealed. Some jokes were a little over my kid's head, but for the most part they understood them and laughed out. This is a good read and I would recommend this book to all How Do Dinosaur fans.

Jack borrowed this book from the Canal Winchester Library. I picked it because he loves dinosaurs and this series...usually.

Honestly, I'm not sure what's going on here. This is a board book, which means the intended audience should be 0-4. Maybe up to around 5 if we're being generous. The jokes and puns are not age appropriate for kids in this age range. And, even as an adult who understood all the jokes, they honestly weren't funny or clever. The only one Jack laughed at was "Dino-snore." The rest of the time, he just looked at me with this incredulous expression as if to ask why I was reading a boring book of nonsense.

The jokes that make puns of the word "dinosaur" were the strongest. Some of them weren't funny at all "Why did the dinosaur eat so fast?" "He didn't want to lose his appetite." The lift-flap book is fun, but the format and content is more appropriate for an older reader who wouldn't be looking in the board book section.

Super cute book, but the jokes are a little too mature for preschoolers to appreciate. I have a lift-a-flap copy and they love that element of it.

"How Do Dinosaurs Laugh Out Loud?" by Jane Yolen is a lift-the-flaps joke books with a dinosaur theme. My kid's currently obsessed with "Walking With Dinosaurs," to the point where he calls this book "Laughing With Dinosaurs." The illustrations are adorable, and the types of dinosaurs are clearly labelled for the curious. The jokes, frankly, are wearying to read over and over. They are incredibly corny. But the delight factor in the kid audience is pretty much worth it. This is a good series, actually, and if you have a kid who likes dinosaurs (or just fun books) pick it up.

I love this whole series. This book is basically a series of dinosaur jokes, but more fun because the answer to each joke is under a flap that you lift. Warning, despite being a board book, young kids won't get most of the jokes. At least my 3-year-old didn't. But she did enjoy lifting the flaps. Illustrations are as well-done as the rest of the "How Do Dinosaurs..." series.

My daughter liked the flaps but even at 4 didn't get a lot of the jokes. She's even in a stage where she tells jokes all the time and she has a great sense of humor. I'm glad this was just a library book.

I love these dinosaur books. When I have "book-dates" with younger students for good behavior, I may possibly maybe sort of kind of lead them towards either the dinosaur books or the Skippy John Jones books.

Jokes not so good- aside from the pictures, even Chris, who is very much in 3 year old joke mode wasn't very enchanted.

It was okay. I like the pictures and artistry, but half the jokes were cute and some were just reaching too far and not funny.

My son absolutely loved this book. The jokes could have been funnier and made a little more sense but he was thrilled with the pictures and the flaps you lift to get the answers to the jokes!
