4/5 There is some really good action in this volume and it wraps up the Battle of Fairy Tail arc rather well. Just as a whole I didn't care for this arc as much as some of the previous ones. Really that's just because Laxus is just such a tool. His character just irritates me. There are some cool fights in here particularly Natsu and Gajeel v. Laxus.

Natsu, Gajeel, and Laxus on the cover of volume 15.

Wow. This series continues to finish arcs on high notes. In this case, its not so much the final fight, which is okay and it's fun to see Gajeel and Natsu fighting together. But tehre are two things that really made this volume stand out for me.

1. Fairy Law. I love what Freed said about the reason that it didn't work. It was pretty obvious that Laxus' whole heart wasn't in it from the start, but he was so invested in his own fantasy that there was part of me worried that at least some people might get caught in it. This made me, in some small way, start to actually feel for Laxus, who until this point I'd been mostly irritated with, even with the flashback bits.

2. The guild taking out Thunder Palace. It's totally trite and expected, but I can't help but love the way they all work together, trust one another and wipe Laxus' plan out of the sky.

Oh noooooo! There were two big surprising things in this volume!,! Luxus is a *****! and Mistgun is ********!?!?!? Moreover, I really want to know the real purpose of Gajeel. Is he a Nakama or opponent????? This volume has a lot of exciting and impressive scenes so please read it as soon as possible.

Another great volume. I’m loving Fairy Tail so much. Again we were left with work mysteries? Why couldn’t Natsu and Gajeel get out of the trap in the guild? Are they really over 80 years old or maybe they’re… stone statues? Who knows.

Loved getting more of Gajeel too. It was fun to see him and Natsu get a chance to team up to take Laxus down; made me realised that they’d make a good team and hopefully in the future I’d like to see a friendship of sorts form between the two.

Got to comment on the fact that Natsu never gives up no matter what. Whoever he’s in a battle and he’s struggling to stand he always gets back up and tries to give it his all. That what I love most about him, he’s so resilient; it’s refreshing.

Laxsus is still really annoying in my opinion lol. I mean, he is acting like a teenager when I think he is actually supposed to be in his twenties if I'm not mistaken... oh well. I found Mystogen to be interesting while it was also fun to see the dragon slayers fight too. :)

13-16. The problem with manga is that it's so easy to binge read and that's what I did. The entire Laxus vs Fairytail arc read and done. Jellal is over and done with, Lucy's father trying to get money out of her and Laxus realising what's actually in his heart. His reaction to Fairy law damage was funny.

This is a very interesting end to the Battle of Fairy Tail arc. I have not enjoyed the arc as much as some of the others which I have encountered in this manga. This is a very fun manga though.

One where you can practically hear the anime OST blasting through the page, it goes hard with its panels despite there being basically no stakes at all.

4.5 ⭐️
Porlyusica comes to Fairytail, urging Levy to Bring Laxus to the guild as Master Makarov doesn’t have much longer
Flashback: teen Laxus fighting (verbally) with Master, asking why he kicked out his dad
Mystogan finds Laxus first, Laxus believes he and Mystogan are on par, believes Erza is weak, believes Guildarts isn’t because “he’s never coming back”
Erza and Natsu arrive in time for Mystogan to get hit.. his goood tearing.
Mystogan is… Jallal?— Again??
Apparently not. (I can’t remember if it’s because he is the Edolas version but they have different names there)
Natsu fights Laxus
Erza transforms into her ‘thunder Emptess Armour ‘ to try and reduce the damage of the ‘Thunder Palace’ Lacroma
Natsu is to keep Laxus busy, by winning the fight (he looks so tough and cool)
“Quit sweat in it, Laxus! Nothings going to happen! You got nothing to gain by breaking the town to pieces. So now you’re in a panic because you can’t back down? Don’t worry! Erza’ll stop it for you” - Natsu read him like a book
Erza managed to create 200 swords. Her magic is so strong
Warren telepathically asks everyone in the guild to help destroy thunder palace, right as Erza was at her limit with the need of 100 more swords
The all destroy one, with the exception of Erza destroying 200, but they saved the town.
Laxus goes into a fit of rage and goes full on force with Natsu
GAJEEL COMES TO SAVE THE DAY!!
Natsu and Gajeel decide that they need to team up. As reluctant as they want to be
THEY WORK SO WELL TOGETHER (I’m also certain that they combined their iron and flame dragon Roar together at the end! How cool!)
Laxus is revealed to be the Lighting dragon slayer
Laxus is going to use fairy Law.. which destroys anything the caster see’s as an enemy
Levy comes in the midst of its build up to tell Laxus Master Makarovs wilting life, but Laxus is not persuaded.. making him cast Fairy Law quicker
Nobody dies, confusing Laxus. Freed reveals that it was Laxus heart that didn’t see them as enemies
Laxus and Natsu battle it out again, Laxus beats Natsu near death, and on the final blow of a Lightning Dragon Heavenly Spear towards him, it’s redirected and there is Gajeel, taking it full force, making himself a lightning rod
Natsu wins. Roaring in victory
Side Story: NATSU WITH HAPPY’s EGG
Mira and Erza used to fight when they were teens, just like how Natsu and Gray do
Lisanna offers to help Natsu raise the egg
“When we get older, maybe I’ll agree to be your wife”
The eggs starts to hatch and out comes Happy, getting his name because before he hatched everyone was fighting, the upon his arrival to the world, everyone was filled with Happiness

LET THE BATTLE OF FAIRY TAIL CONTINUE!!

This volume follows the previous one in which Laxus and the Thunder Legion begin with the Battle of Fairy Tail, where they force the members to fight against their friends. And they have to because many of the girls of their guild have been turned into stone. If the members don't defeat Laxus within 3 hours then the girls will be turned into stone, thanks to Evergreen. So really, it is not like they have any choice.

In this volume, however, something strange happens.

In this volume, we also find some terrifying secrets about the members.

And that ending.

Lastly, that introduction to the Oracion Seis arc. Aaaah, I can't wait for that! It is my favourite!

This will be my full review for this entire series. I already read this comic from volume 1-30. Suppose there 50 volume more of this series but I prefer not to finish it as I don't really like the time-skip idea in this series.

To clarify, I love the idea of time-skip. But, in this series, I really hate it. It make Natsu and other main member weaker. Why make them weaker? I want to see MC progress throughout the series. Then, suddenly become weaker. Not to mention when MC want to win each battle, power of friendship keep coming back each battle.

Furthermore, there are a lot of un-explained things happened in this series. The dots are not connected rather than scattered throughout the series. It just there to fill the plot-hole. Rather than explaining, Mr Hiro keep continuing the series and keep adding new characters each volume.

So, after the time-skip, I determine to stop reading this series. I don't want to ruin my memories of this awesome series. For most part, this series actually had huge potential because of interesting and lovable character, but the plot is keep on damaging this series slowly.

The Battle of Fairy Tail continues as Laxus' small cadre of wizards, the Thunder Legion, has been defeated. He has to enter the fray himself, though few of the Fairy Tail wizards are left. Heavy hitters Natsu, Erza, Mystogan, and Gajeel are still up for more fighting. They have to contend with Laxus's lightening magic and his Thunder Palace--a set of 300 small orb encircling the town of Magnolia which threaten to release an electricity attack on the town if the Fairy Tail people can't stop them in time.

The fights are exciting and they have a lot of kung fu-type sparring along with the magical strikes. I am impressed that the battles get more and more epic as the story goes along. You'd think a limit would eventually be hit but Mashima manages to squeeze out more as he goes. He puts in a little character development and some new mysteries as well, so there's plenty to enjoy.

The book includes a side story, "Natsu and the Dragon's Egg," which is very similar to one of the filler episodes on the anime series. The other typical supplements are provided.

Recommended.

I've read up to volume;
#15: ★★★★★☆☆

i LOVED this arc. It is no secret that I am a sucker for tournament arcs, and even if this wasn't one with the typical structure we got to see some cool fights and characters doing their best. The antagonists finally felt like they were hard to beat.
The dragon slayers vs luxus was amazing! Honestly my favorite from this series so far.

Thoughts on this volume:
• Mystogan came, did one silly party trick, and immediately left again because his face tattoo was revealed. He said, alright I'mma head out.
• Can you imagine the chaos of the Battle of Fairy Tail if Gildarts had come home like two weeks earlier. All of Freed's spell boundaries fucked up by the Magnolia city replanting spell....
• Laxus casting Fairy Law not realising he actually likes his guildmates.... stupid boy!!!! Very stupid!!!
• Laxus dragon slayer reveal does kinda hit though like yeah that bitch got a lacrima up in him and his daddy evil!!! Yay!
• The way even Freed is tired of his shit is insane, like baby boy even the man homoerotically listing after you a la Boris in a Portrain of Dorian Gray thinks you've probably gone too far.
• Levy kinda the MVP of this whole shit, like she got Natsu and Gajeel out of the locked room, and risked Laxus to tell him that Makarov was sick. He was too far gone to care, but she still did that.

This volume takes us through the end of the Battle of Fairy Tail as orchestrated by Laxus and his cohorts. As seen in volume fourteen the girls get free of Laxus' entrapment, as do Natsu and Gajeel. Erza briefly faces Laxus directly before moving off to deal with his Thunder Palace magic which threatens to destroy the whole village, leaving first Natsu alone, and then Natsu and Gajeel together to face off against Laxus.

I read this as part of Dewey's 24 Hour Readathon April 2020

The Battle of Fairy Tail comes to an action-packed end in this volume. Seeing members of Fairy Tail digging deep into their reserves to stop Laxus' plans and save the city and their friends was a powerful moment. Plus this is where we find out just how strong Laxus is and what magic power he truly wields. Plus an extremely badass moment from Erza and a few other members of Fairy Tail. It was a great read.

Just so glad that this fucking arc is over. Bye Laxus. Good riddance. What a horrible character. Bah. Not to mention so much deux ex machina + Dragonball vibes. Oh, no we cannot beat the boss, well, here is a new step in our transformation and now we are stronger! WHOO. Super super saiyan Natsu. *rolls eyes*
The best part in this one was the side story which tells us how Natsu got Happy and it was enormously cute.

Fairy Tails Civil War concludes in this volume! I am sure there will be tons to recompress next volume but the thing you need (or should) know when sitting down reading is you're in for an emotional battle...one that is not just for victory but to save some people's inner souls! The extra side story at the end was an alternate (I assume) origin of a beloved Fairy Tail Guild member! It was retold and just a fun story that would not make sense in timing of the characters but is of course wildly entertaining to any fan of the series! Great art and story a little lighter as the action carries this book to it's epic conclusion!
