Swami Shri Adgadanand Ji Maharaj came to the recluse of the worldly saint Paramanand Ji at the age of 23 years in November 1955 searching for the truth. The hermitage of Parmanand Ji was at Chitrakoot Anusuiya, Satna, Madhya Pradesh (India) amidst the dense forests infested with wild animals. Living in such inhabitable forest in the absence of any facility, this rightly reflects that he was a great sage.
Reverend Paramhans Ji received premonitions of his arrival many years ago. The day he reached the ashram, Paramhans Ji received divine presage.
He had declared to his disciples, “A young man who is ardently seeking to go beyond the periodicity of life must be coming at any moment now.” Moment he cast his eye upon him, Paramahans Ji declared, “Here he is!”
Whenever a pupil comes in contact with a great sage, immediately it is beyond his senses to fathom the greatness of the sage. He was also intimated by the divine soul and chaste Brahmin, “The sages who have been incarnated in this world, your Guru has all those qualities and he is such sage. With the strengthening of his faith in the Guru his spiritual pursuit also speeded up.
Guided under the angelic guidance of the Guru he set out on the path of spiritual freedom. The aim was established.
Maharaj Ji, although was not interested in writing, following the godly directions he has contributed invaluable treatises through speech and in text for the social good. The first such publication is ‘Jeevanadarsh and Atmaanubhooti’ – is an account of the ideal life and the spiritual pursuit of his Guru Paramhans Paramanand Ji. It is a collection of his life sketch and many astonishing incidents. Many of the people are even alive today, who have seen such unique personality and for that matter they consider themselves very lucky. Secrets of the techniques of spiritual pursuits, which have been revealed to him by the Guru, have also been included in this book. It is one of the most appraised and invaluable books in today’s world, on the subject of spiritualism, which could only be perceived by the student on the path of attainment of spiritualism.
‘Vishwagaurav’ (Pride of the World) Title was conferred on the reverend Swami Ji by World Religious Parliament on the occasion of the last Mahakumbh of the century at Hardiwar in the presence of all Shankeracharyas, Mahamandleshwaras, Members of Brahman Mahasabha and Religious Scholars of forty four countries.
‘Bharatgaurav’ (Pride of India) Title was conferred on Swamiji on the occasion of last mahakumbh of the century, for his book ‘Yatharth Geeta’ – A truthful analysis of Shreemad Bhagwad Geeta, the scripture for all mankind, on 10.04.1998.
Swami Shri Adgadanandji was felicitated Vishwa Dharam Sansad on 26.01.2001, during the Mahakumbh festivities at Prayag as ‘Vishwaguru’ (the Man of the World and prophet) for his work ‘Yatharth Geeta’ (commentary on Shreemad Bhagwad Geeta). Besides for serving the interest of the masses, he was honoured as Vanguard of the society.
I have no word for this book. It has to become my all time great book. This book only for those who are really truth seeker otherwise they wouldn't get it. It made me crystal clear. I am simply dancing , flying , singing. oh God.
I am not a good sanskrit reader therefore I have read many translations of Gita, without hesitating for moment I can say this is the best translation i have ever read, although its a pity that there is no english version of this, but the way Swami Adgadanandji has portrayed this magnificent scripture shows how deep understanding he had about what this song, the eternal song is all about and its delivered to us in a flawless manner, I would recommend it to all those who want to begin reading it, there is also an audio-book on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wlPoH...
This exposition is unlike most of the commentaries of the same epic. It has really some soul-stirring and eye-opening paragraphs. Most importantly it drives one towards clarity from the conundrums of dogmas and superstitions that one may possibly find oneself in, particularly existing in the Hindu society even after reading many interpretations of the Geeta.
Excellent exposition provided by Swami Agadanand. It's English translation is amazing. The Hindi one is also nice. This book has literally made an effort of explaining the Geeta verses by Lord Krishn as much as allowed, rest as mentioned in the book...a reader would benefit reading this book (or rather any book!) Only if you have the mindset of Arjun. Also all information cannot be only communicated by words, but also by expression and body language. A plus point of this book is (especially in English translation) that the spellings are mentioned according to the pronunciation rather than translation...so this literally would help Non-hindus to pronounce and understand the context better.
This Geeta is different from all other translations. All other translations focus on the spreading their ideology, mostly they focus on how to divert all people towards their so-called religion.
But this is different, looks like the author has no religion rather than 'Sanatana Dharm'. Swami Adgadanand describes all myths of religion and tries his best to give what we call real spiritual knowledge. He never tries to spread his own ideology. Description given in this bhaashy is relatable to common souls like us.
This is one of the best translations of Geeta I have ever read or listened to.
Why am I surprised that it has mostly 5 star ratings? After all, this is the biggest sacred text of Hinduism, which might make you wonder why I, an atheist, read it. Mostly because I was made to read it, really. But also, to see exactly what I'm up against (iykwim).
And I have to say that as a religious text it's not bad at all. I even agreed with some bits, like the caste system being used as a way to keep certain sections of people from progressing and of course, how eating/drinking with people from other religions doesn't destroy your own religion.
That being said, most of the text (unsurprisingly) was about the supreme god, Krishna and how to achieve eternity by worshipping (not idol worshipping) and focusing your life only in the pursuit of him, which, good for people who believe in it but not for me.
Anyway, it's an...interesting (?) text but obviously for people who actually believe in god and religion.
this book is written by my preceptor's in which solutions of this universe problem and illusions and when you read this book 3 or 4 times then you will feeling that nothing is impossible in this world everything can do by you 🙏🏻🕉️
I have read 5 types of Bhagwat Gita Ji ( teeka ) but it's just the best one in all aspects understanding , explanation application , spirituality and that feeling of connect with learning
Overall, I agree with the interpretation of Swami Ji. He was great to show and express the symbolism of each and every verses. It was really great to know different characters and their respective representations.
However, I was expecting more from him. I thought he would touch philosophical aspects as well. Instead, it was only the stories and instances from Mahabharata only.
For Instance: when there was mention of Sankhya Yoga, I thought he would interpret and explain about it in detail. But, he barely touched the surface. Was expecting more from Swami Ji.
Geeta is such a strange book, Every time you read you get to know new thing.
This ‘Yatharth Geeta’ is one of the top - three interpretation of Bhagawat Geeta for me.
The geeta by krishna is a deep and simple philosophy and base of all the major religions on earth. The thing is that, understanding such deep philosophies (could be directly from god) is not easy and everyone understands it as per their intellect. In this hindi (not english) translation of geeta, unlike other running translations which are ambitious, the interpreter takes the reader to deeper level of understanding which pushes the reader to break apart the societal and internal shackles to get past the ego. Must read with open mind. Kudos! 😊
Gita is not a religious book, it's a spiritual book. This Yatharth Gita helps us to understand the true meaning of summarised wisdom words by lord Krishna.
The best scientific approach to understand nuances of Geeta A totally new perspective, to have fight within oneself It contains the principles of the core essence of religion - not only Hinduism
Thanks to Ojha Sir for this. This book is for everyone. It might be heavy for beginners. But have patience, By the end of the 18th chapter you will have different perspective of life.
