Traveling the Prayer Paths of Jesus

Rate this book
Lord, teach us to pray."" Who has better insight of prayer than Jesus? The disciples recognized that, and they witnessed Jesus' prayer life firsthand. Jesus prayed at all times and in all places - in solitude and in the midst of crowds. Indermark invites readers to follow the example of Jesus and to learn deeper ways to connect with God. Written as a six-week study, each section has seven readings. Each reading has a related prayer exercise to help you grow in prayer and in the model of Jesus. A guide for small groups is included in the book. Indermark writes from a very personal perspective and includes stories from his family and church life that are always relevant to the subject. He begins his exploration of the prayers of Jesus by writing about a church camp experience, a time when he was to give the evening devotion around the campfire. ""Why I even recall that devotion,"" he writes, ""is It served as the first time in my life I felt a sense of calling to Christian ministry."" Always gentle and inviting, Indermark's writing helps readers to see new depth in the prayers of Jesus and new ways that all might pray. Traveling the Prayer Paths of Jesus is an ideal Lenten study.

A daily devotional over a six week period.
I gave it a go, but adding another book to my stack for no real benefit has not worked out. I read though a week and a half last night and may pass it to a friend...

This was an excellent study, used for a 6 week small group, following Jesus' life from Galilee to Easter.
