The Bone Scraper: The Atlanta Lode: A Western Adventure

Rate this book
Jesse Waite had lost everything. A lifetime of tragedy, war, and unfortunate circumstances had left him with one surviving brother who was out looking for fortune and gold in the wild Idaho Territories. To find his last surviving kin, Jesse made his way across the country with dreams of opening his own church and settling down for good. Yet, when he makes it to the Idaho lands he finds out that his brother has been murdered in cold blood in the small town of Atlanta.

Seeking to find the story of how his brother died, Jessie stumbles into a town in need of the Lord's word. He decides to settle in, build his church, and witness to the near-do-wells… But being a shepherd to a town full of wolves proves harder than he imagined with most town-folk being in the pocket of the gold barron, Earl Cumming. When Earl’s henchmen and drunken miners go too far in pressing the innocent lambs, Jesse comes to the realization that God had a different plan for him all along—one of swift and violent biblical retribution.

welcome change

Well written change from the world of operators and high capacity magazines. A story of people doing what needed to be done.

Very Entertaining

I really enjoyed reading this story and look forward to the next one! It's a very interesting look at life in the mining towns of the late 1800s.
