Anya Bast is the author of numerous works of romantic fiction, mostly all paranormal and mostly all scorching hot. She lives in the country with her husband, daughter, eight cats, a dog, and an odd assortment of rescued animals.
She grew up in Minnesota and still favors the colder climates. After high school she moved to the southeast United States where she attended college. While in graduate school she sold her first book and decide to pursue her lifelong dream of writing instead of a career in psychology.
Somewhat reclusive by nature, she can be drawn out with a good bottle of red wine, classic movies, or good music. When she’s not writing, she can be found trying to grow organic vegetables, shopping in thrift stores for that perfect piece of clothing, or dreaming about travel to some faraway country.
She’s hard at work on a brand new series for Berkley Sensation right now, while winding up her national bestselling Elemental Witches quartet.
I really enjoyed this book. It had a female character (Moira) that was both strong and intelligent, a man (Dain) that was grief stricken and plagued with regrets and his twin (Killian) who is the polar opposite and as light hearted as his brother is dark.
The erotic parts were pantie dripping fantastic, while the tortured parts were just as heart tugging. I loved the characters and the ups and downs. The only part I disliked is how the story ended. The way the author concluded the story was rather silly, but for the most part I fell in love with this book.
I have read a lot of erotic novels, but there is just something about the way Bast writes, that draws you in and keeps you hooked. I tumbled upon her books by accident, and it was the best ever erotic that I've read.
The historical angle with lords and their hedonistic courts have been created so beautifully, that the story is almost mesmerizing. Gives birth to new fantasies, while at the same time holding onto that thread of romance and love.
This came as a free gift from "The Cave." Haven't read this author before, so neat! Not neat, was the "Happy Holiday from Jasmine - Jade. We Hope you enjoy your free gift!" STICKER someone at "The Cave" stuck on the front. :-( The sticker is for file folders and doesn't remove without leaving a messy goo. Grrr!
Oh, here's another book that the series is before the title. Egads.
Pretty good, last in this series. Story brings together two, then three, of the descendants. The attraction is definetly there but the party doesn't start until Dain's twin brother Killian arrives. That is when it gets a little stimulating. Wasn't sure if I liked how it ended, thought she was going to say she wanted them both, but she let Killian slip away.
It was just ok for me. Nothing too good, nothing real bad. I keep getting hit and miss on Anya Bast. I think I might actually like her “witch” series better than these erotica books, which is kind of odd for me. That is about all I have to add for this book. Take it or leave it.
Recomendable.
Digital re-release of the last of the series. Sex plays a very powerful role in this particular world. Looking forward to the re-releases of the previous 4 starting next year.
