The subplot about the lambs was cool, but another book on horses that didn’t give that interesting of a story despite the ridiculous premise of this book was disappointing. The ending was also way too much, which was sad because these books haven’t had many of those unrealistic/too perfect endings.

I had my grandfather read an animal ark book almost every night growing up. I have collected them throughout the years and now own a collection of 64 although I have read more than that.

I had not read one of these in years and decided to pick up one to read for the sake of the nostalgia and found myself surprised with every page. The simple sweet book about animals that I read as a child had transformed in my years of absence into a book that I could read as an adult and see in a whole new light.

A child reading this book or having it read to them only notice Mandy and James and the cute sweet animals that they tend to. An adult will notice the subtle nod between the vet and the owner when an animal might not pull through, will notice the implied hints between characters, and better understand the medical terms used. 27 years old and I learnt a new horse illness and things about it I didn't know despite it being a kids story. I looked it up afterwards and all the information given was accurate.

The book was much longer then I thought it would be and was an exceptionally well written story for being a supposed kids story. The author took a lot of time crafting the story to appeal to all audiences. As a child I was convinced that Mandy and James were my age or a little older but reading it as an adult they easily could have been teens allowing it to appeal to many age groups instead. The author never talks down to the reader or 'dumbs' their writing down.. an absolutely great book and series to introduce to your children. I can't wait for my niece and nephew to be old enough to read to these to them.

My favourite part was when Cougar was healthy again and the music video was still able to be made. Cougar was a mustang. She was supposed to lead the horses in their music video, until she got sick. The worst part was when Cougar got sick. She had grass sickness and no one even noticed until she decided not to eat. My favourite character was Mandy because she helped get Cougar to eat again so she could get her strength back. The worst character would be the first music video producer because he quit just because Cougar was sick. Auryn 11 years old.

This was a very good story. I loved the whole theme behind this story. I also loved the way that the author brought some "real" cowboys from Texas. This story was well done and kept us intrigued from the start to the finish.

This is Kyleigh.

Mustang in the Mist is a great book it's about a girl named Mandy that finds Lisa riding a mustang named Cougar.

Character Trait- Sad because Cougar gets very ill.

I think the most event is when she met Cougar.

I recommend this book for anyone who likes mustangs.

This is a good book for anyone who loves animals, especially horse lovers. It's not that long, so it's best for children who are reading chapter books.
