Invisible Threads

Rate this book
Naomi was never going to be like her mother. The crazy highs and underground lows. Naomi was in control. When the time came she would be the perfect mother–nothing like her own.
On the day Carrie-Anne turned 16, she surpassed her. The girl-woman who gave away her own child. Her biological mother. Carrie-Anne got to 16 without making that mistake. That’s what she was, really–a mistake. And now the invisible threads tying her to the past are driving her to find out why and how it happened. After all, if you don’t know where you come from, how can you know where you belong?
But sometimes asking questions is harder than hearing the answers. And sometimes the answers don’t matter at all.

About the author

Annie Dalton

Annie grew up as an only child in the English countryside during the 1950s. Her father was not always around but when he was, he would tell her fantastical stories, often with her as the principal character. Annie missed him and his stories, which led her to the fantasy section at her local library, thus sparking life-long love of fiction.

After undertaking jobs such as waitressing, cleaning and factory work, Annie went on to study at University of Warwick and soon started writing.

Annie lives in Norfolk. She has three children, Anna, Reuben, and Maria (the inspiration for the first “Angels Unlimited” book, “Winging It”) and two grandchildren, Sophie and Isabella.

Classified as a teenage read by my local library. A quick satisfying read. 2 lives, 2 generations, interconnected. Place, time and situation explored from sixteen girls perspective.

ive got about 2 chapters left but this book is really good- the similarities of a mother and daughter who don't know the other's life after the young girl's birth. the connection is true and im not surprised about the title...

ok now im done and they never meet but its understood because she realizes her mom is the one who raised her and even if she met her biological mother what good would it have done if she wasn't mentally prepared?

I don't know this book wasn't that bad, it just really wasn't my style.
This book tells about two women, both sixteen, but they have an unusual connection. The one women is telling of her story about how at sixteen she became pregnant and gave birth to her daughter. The other tells her story of how she wants to find her birth mom.

This book does not even deserve a star. By the time I was at page 20, it started having foul language.

I would not recommend this book to anybody.

I guess this will be my most favorite book! (so far). I saw it in a clearance sale and i bought with only rm15. Dirt cheap! And it was the bestest book ive ever read. Well yet of course.

interesting novel about two teenagers, one adopted and one pregnant.
Both with normal problems according their age. The writing mode like letters of one and another is a little confused (for me).
