When Tate Daniels grandfather dies, he leaves one request for his get engaged to his best friend Halle within 3 months, or his trust will be delayed. Tate takes it as the sign that he's been waiting for to go after the girl he's always loved, and she doesn't need to know about his grandfather's will.Halle Bridger is confused about the sudden change in her dynamic with Tate, and afraid that if his feelings aren't real or lasting, she will never recover from the heartbreak. Trust is everything between them - will one secret prevent them from what was always meant to be?
Other than some grammatical errors which should have been fixed in proof reading I really enjoyed this.
Tate and Halles relationship felt believable due to her hang ups on taking it further and ruining the lifelong friendship they always had and I liked the fact that Tates grandad was the one to push them in the right direction
Halles Mum seemed like a social climber but considering they all have money that wasn’t expanded on enough for me to make sense
•Predictable trope • Tate kept a secret from her until the end • Halle was insecure from her mom telling her she isn’t good enough for Tate 🙄 • Once Tate went from best friend one minute to trying to seduce her the next, it gave me whiplash and it made it difficult to invest in the story.
These types of stories makes it difficult for me to like childhood friends to lovers romances, especially when it’s a novella. Childhood friends to lovers needs to develop slowly and I’m not always a patient person, this is why most childhood friends to lovers romances don’t work for me.
